    Great video Charles, just picked up SKF seals for the KX's and my ZX6R, they are definitely worth the $. Where our track is there are tiny sharp rocks which is just brutal on seals, also picked up a pair of shock sox to try to prolong their life.
    Brake clean works great for this job, be careful not to get it on any O rings, plastics or the seals, it can pull the natural oil from them causing cracks/premature failure.

      Very true about the rubber! Thanks for watching Ricky! Those shock socks, work killer as long as he flipped them, upside down and wash the insides out once in a while! Those suckers definitely pack in the debris.

    I cant find which seal is the new quad seal for the newer air fork cartridge. The only seal i can find is this one (X-ring 26,57x3,53 FKM80) and its the same for both 2017 and 2018. Any idea which seal it is that your talking about in this video at 35:15. I have the 2017 version of this fork and im having the cold weather failure. Im trying to find what seal they changed and if it will fit into this older fork. Any info would help. Thanks!

    I had a way easier time rebuilding forks than the shock on my CR125R. The rebound adjuster was a little tricky to get threaded on. With the shock… well, I was covered in oil and had trouble bleeding the air out. I had many choice words for it haha. Found out I had bad compression adjuster o-rings. They don’t come in the rebuild kit either.

    You can also use one half of the seal driver to push the circlip into its groove.

    Hey C!
    Love the vid very informative and helpful seeing that the new husky has these forks . Question ,my buddy who does suspension out here in buffalo offered me a gold valve set up for my 22 TC 125 when I decide to do fork seals for the first time. What are your thoughts in this?

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Ty! Gold vales have a great reputation. I have not used them personally but they have been around forever. Race Tech is a highly reputable company & have great products. I'd go for it. I just don't know if it's best suited for your stock shim stack or could be better with a revised stack since you're already in there taking that portion apart. It'd be a good question to ask.

    Nice work Charles, much appreciated info there. I,m considering the 23 ktm 350sxf and would it be my first WP suspension and machine with air forks. Reviews are looking promising with the current technology. Currently i,m at 195 lbs so both ends may need a little attention with spring rates and valving for my heavy arse. Keep er pinned as always....

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh you'll love the 350. One of the best bikes I've owned & they've only gotten better. 🔥 Here's a video for you right before or after your break-in ride: czcams.com/video/XL8Br7PzquE/video.html One great thing about re-springing the new KTMs, is that you only need to buy the rear spring!! I was about the same weight and never even sent the fork/ shock out for a re-valve. I just sprung the rear with one of our WP color matched white shock springs & that was IT! So good! Reach out anytime if you need a rear spring too. Thanks for watching, Al! -Charles // mXrevival

    Nice vid. Is it necessary to let the air out of the cartrige when only changing oil and seals? I’ve seen others said it should be done, but i’m not so sure u did. Thanks

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Před rokem

      No, you totally don’t have to let the air out if you don’t want to. Thank you for watching, and for the compliment 💪

  • @throttlebuff

    My dampening rod isn't fully extending. When i was pumping it before adding oil to drain it felt extremly sticky mid stroke. Like i had to phsh against the floor. Afyer pumling a bit it was moving but still very sticky. Tbe reason i took them apart was i thought ghe aer was sticking. However maybe this is the problem. How do you check the seal on pushrod in dampening fork? Maybe i didn't bleed it enough so it isn't extending but how about binding. Any ideas?

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Před rokem

      I'll throw out a few suggestions though it would be difficult for me to tell without having the fork leg of course.. if it's the damping side, it may not be bled properly. Easy enough to fix of course.
      If it's the air leg, you may have a bad quad ring seal.
      If it isn't either of those two issues, you could also have damage inside the unit causing the drag at mid stroke.
      Thankfully all of these would be easily remedied by sending your fork leg or legs into your favorite suspension tuner.
      Thanks for watching!

      Current model RMZ is running around 330…
