I think before the introduction of the R160, Jamaica Yard used to be all R46s, while the A ran R32s through R44s. Then it was decided that Coney Island and Jamaica Yard each have R160s, and in preparation, some of the R32 and R40M/R42 fleet moved to Jamaica Yard. And that is when the A got R46s.
Ah my childhood Trains, can’t get enough of them along with the R-68s, 62s, 44s, 42s, 38s, 32s, the Redbirds, all childhood trains I grew up with, I will ALWAYS love and appreciate the hard work these trains have put in for New York over the years, they will definitely NOT be forgotten AT ALL 👊😎
I hope there’s a preserved set for museum runs because it’s one of the most iconic subway cars in the history of the system.
From what I know so far, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is obligated to hand at least one R46 train set down to the New York City Transit Museum. I’m pretty certain that some other R46 train sets may wind up being sent over to the Trolley Museum of New York or the Craggy Mountain Line. Hell it definitely would be nice if the Metropolitan Transportation Authority got creative and perhaps auction some to many, if not all, of them off
Get your final rides in a few years until these start to retire from service as more and more R211 trains are arriving to NYC
This is why I love the R46 and R211A/T they are my main best trains I’m giving them both a 10/10, I kinda wish hopefully they can keep the R46 in service to either 2030 or 35 cuz I wanna drive them so badly when I grow up to be a engineer
your not gonna be hired for saying you want to "drive" them. its not a car. also the r46 sucks nobody likes it.
@@mtavideocapture bro I’m just saying, and I’ll handle your opinion on the R46, I understand you hate it
@@mtavideocapturehere comes the new tech heads degrading themselves old equipment I have operated the R46 and they are quite Pleasant I am a train operator on the A much prefer the R46 cars I try to avoid the New techs as most as I can and once the R46 retire I’m going to the B line
@@r62aguy85 I 1000% agree with you, the R-46s and the R-68s are damn good trains, it’s just too bad that these “New Tech Heads” as you put it can’t seem to understand that 😒🙄
@nezarionbraxton: Don’t shame and attack people for not liking the same equipment as you. Some people enjoy R46s and some don’t. Keep it moving.
They're no SMEES but I will miss these cars when they're gone. This reminds me a lot of an afternoon of filming I did at 88th Street of R44s and R38s back in '07.
Nice catch. Now this is prompting me to complete my final R46 A train masterpiece. I’ll definitely miss the good ol' times I have and had with the R46 A, C and Rockaway Park Shuttle trains like crazy but these moments I will always take with me moving forward. Great work on capturing such worthy moments like this
This is awesome, DJ, will be sad to see these legandary cars go😢I love the R46 so much, from the bumping up and down to the side to side slide when your riding on the A Line going express, so iconic🔵I suggest everybody get their final rides as it will retire in a couple of years.
my favorite subway car. I will miss these, I catch them as much as I can
Cool video! Too bad the R46s are going to disappear but won’t be forgotten when the R211s have completely replaced them… the seal of New York like wallpaper on the insides is very cool and iconic. Oh speaking of R211s does anyone know when they start service on the SIR?
These were once on the F train, and I had a lot of memories taking them on that line.
These trains are now getting older and it’s time for these to begin retirement for the next couple of years
Awesome video of R46 A train.
Shut up, Chelsea, nobody asked you!
I haven’t watched you in a while. Glad to see you brought back the old music!!
i was probably in one of those based on the sky
The (E) used to have a set of R46’s in 2008, if yall didn’t know.
The last of the GOH cars! I no longer live in NYC but hope I can get to ride them one more time
Nice work man plus I have a wooden R46 subway car
Awesome video!
I like r46 A train
Awesome video of the R46s
Gotta get em before they go Bye hye
Nice, when was this taken?
A few weekends ago! :)
Spent a "not insignificant" part of my childhood "joyriding" R44 A trains and R46 F trains!
Best to enjoy the R46 (A) while we can.
So When Do These R46 Subway Cars Go In For The Retirement Run If I May Ask You The Question About That Thank You Very Much And You?!:-\
Not anytime soon, definitely not this year. Only ~30% of the 46s on the A line have been replaced with 211s and they haven't even started with the CNQRW lines yet.
@Interstella-ni3vh Okay Then And When Exactly Does The Scrapping Process Start On The R46 Subway Cars Anyways If I May Ask You The Question About That Thank You Very Much And You?!:-\
I love the R46s
The C train to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, duh!
Remind me of when to call the police
I hate seeing the R46 on the Q. Should be kept to the N/W and the A/C/Rockaway Shuttle.
What about when they were on the (F) and (R)? That was a golden age
@@railfanner-MaxPlatithey definitely are. The R46 E train was and will forever remain a classic nostalgic gem too
Rockaway shuttle now uses R179s
Didn’t R46s last run on the (E) in the late 2000s?
@@railfanner-MaxPlatitechnically it ran Via the E two weeks ago but it was signed up as A train via the E line
R46 > R211
