- Diesel Loco Shed presents the Fond memories of the Diamond Jumbo Locomotive WDM 2 17808 !! This Loco is presently Derated to Shunting Activities and Inferior Service only.
The Video was taken when this Unique WDM 2 ALCO was serving on the Main Line.
Loco Number 17808 from Diesel Loco Shed, Guntakal was a very frequent Passenger Train Hauler. The Loco had a Very different and unique type of Short Hood, and was called a "Jumbo" for this Reason. There were two Locomotives of this kind in the shed, and now both of them are derated to Shunting Activities.

To start with the video what looks to me like a coal engine for a minute or so because the Alco emanating lot of smokes as and when it Accleration Then comes the best part of the video when the Alcos started emanating smoke at the station premises that too above greenary which brought back my memories where the same type of spots viewed along with my friends in 2 English Cinemas in GAYATRI TALKIES MYSORE IN the Early 1960s HATSOFF TO EACH AND EVERYONE INVOLVED HERE

@@SurekhatullochTulloch yeah, it arrived at Hulkoti. And we travelled in it upto the next station Annigeri and captured the departure there.

Yes. Most of them Have been Rebuilt to WDM 3A locomotives, and many of them are Derated to Shunting and MAny more scrapped.
