they ended the movie that way cuz it connects to the beginning of part 4. Not sure why they they left out the rest of Chris's story, but there was more and it was even featured within the novelization. she actually regained consciousness while in Jason's hands but managed to escape from his hold. She ran and ran through the woods until she finally ran right into Ralph. This is before he was killed. Ralph saw the terror in her face and was the one who took her to the hospital. She does not remember this part but all she does remember is what Jason looked like. The alternate ending had the biker guy at the end survive and he and Chris leave as the police arrive and discover Jason's body is missing.
I don't quite think they already had a Part 4 planned when they ended this movie like that. They really didn't have a multi-film story thought out. They basically just flew by the seat of their pants with each movie, and they only decided to make each next movie after each previous movie made a profit. Granted, these movies were so cheap to produce that even making a few million at the box office was considered a success. But these movies could've just as easily flopped or been seen as not worth the trouble to make more. I recall listening to the DVD commentary, and they said that the final shot of the murky lake was intended to be the final shot of the series. But since this movie made enough money to be considered successful, it obviously wasn't the final shot. Even the next one wasn't "The Final Chapter" as its title claimed.
The ending was to show Jason truly died, no missing body or surprise scare Jason was supposed to die here, the novel just used an early script before they had decided to kill him off (they then went back after seeing the box office results)
One of the reasons why this one doesn't have the strongest of scripts is because of the 3D cameras used for filming. For all of the time-consuming takes the filming caused (They had to get every 3D gag JUST right) there just wasn't enough time to fill the script's plot-holes. But with that out of the way, I'm so glad that you guys are on your way to the TOMMY JARVIS TRILOGY for the franchise! (Parts 4-6) FINAL CHAPTER has always been my most favorite of the entire series. Hope you all enjoy and thanks for this fun, great content!
I totally agree that whole "Chris Was Attacked by JASON" always made little sense. Jason NEVER lets someone just get away! BTW there was an alternate ending where Jason comes out of the house and cuts off Chris' head as a different "Dream Sequence". But they changed it to Jason's Mom coming out of the water like in the Original.
The 'mom jumpscare' really comes out of no where since none of the characters aside from Jason know about her (characters from part 2 don't count). Most of characters don't even know who Jason is by name or that he's even there until they encounter him right before he kills them. These are just a bunch of people he happened upon while he was taking a 'rest' from the previous massacre.
I love binging this channel and “Final Girlzz”. It’s like reliving my college days of watching horror movies with girl friends in my dorm 💀 great video! This movie pairs super well with “Cabin in the Woods”
Parts IV, V, VI & VII are my favorite run of the Friday the 13th movies: So I hope y'all gonna be continuing this series as the best is yet to come! (... The worse also but at least the next 4 movies are great); and hopefully, you gals are going to continue on with the Nightmare on Elm Street series as well so that, once both franchises are done, you can see the Iconic _Freddy vs. Jason_ (2003) !!!
This was originally in 3D in theaters which is why it looks wonky. It was originally called "Friday the 13th 3D" but now just shortened to part 3. One DVD release came with the 3D version intact and had 2 pairs of 3D glasses to watch it with. I managed to do that and the popups where not all that impressive (granted it was ment to be on a huge screen instead of a 16:9 screen). The 3D things was around briefly in the early 80s (like Jaws 3D and Amityville horror 3D) but it was an interesting experiment.
You three are like a modern day MST3K, I enjoyed watching your reaction video and laughed my ass off at several of your comments. 😄 I love the Friday series (at least 1 through 5; 6 is okay). I agree that where story is concerned, this one is weak, but that was mostly due to the emphasis (and budget) put toward the 3D effects; and this really is the kind of movie you watch simply for that. The movie is being shown in the original 3D again at Alamo Drafthouses around the U.S. if you get a chance to see it in 3D (with the grey polarized lenses, not the cheap red and blue ones), it is THE way to experience it
6 is up there for me, but I think 7 is my absolute favorite. 7 might have been the first Friday I ever saw and was able to focus the whole time. I may have seen pics or clips from the previous ones before seeing 7, but didn't remember them or watch them completely to know them well. After the time I saw 7, I collected the movies and gave them all a serious watching.

i saw this in the theatre back in the day i loved it lol its funny to watch it now its not scary at all really i would recomend other horror films like "the twins of evil"- (71) , and the original black christmas from 74 oh, and two films i think you would like are paper moon from 72, i think and the original bad news bears from 76 both with tatum o neil !

As you can see, they don't even have the balls to have a reaction channel. They're too busy hiding behind their PC criticizing YT reactors.
The 3D for this film is the kind with the old red-and-blue glasses. So watching it with the glasses on means watching it with that colored tint to it, and the effect simply isn't as good as the modern 3D. Some DVD copies came with both the 2D and 3D versions and included a couple pairs of 3D glasses, so at least watching it in either way at home was an option. But despite the 3D "stuff coming at the camera" gimmick, this is my second favorite in the series behind Part 6. We get Jason's hockey mask for the first time, Shelly is one of the more relatable characters in the series, and the film's premise hadn't yet worn out its welcome. Also, the acting in Chili's death scene may be the most so-bad-it's-hilariously-great of all of Jason's kills.
this film suffered from being shot in 3D (all the attention & money went behind the “New” gimmick 3D (The real 3D conversion is actually really impressive especially for the time it was made… it also feels a bit off due to the location it was filmed in CA (The gore pushed the limits of what rated R could do) i consider FT13 2-4 a nice trilogy of films that link up very good (Compared to later on in the series where the time line is manic and uneven) there’s missed opportunities with Chris back story encountering Jason (which is somewhere in the timeline of FT13 part 1&2) Debbie being pregnant is something that tends to get overlooked, Richard Brooker is the most overlooked actor to play Jason his version of the character seems more balanced (very enjoyable reaction)
Yeah, I remember back then when 3D was popular. And rightfully so. Back then, there was no such thing as CGI and mind-blowing special effects, as it is today. Also, cable was just making it big (you had to have money if you wanted cable) and we were still watching rented movies on the VCR and Beta box. Besides that, horror movies were not as popular back then as they are today. Only true horror movie lovers praised the horror movies and the critics just ripped into them because they were not popular.
Continuity throughout the franchise always has been the biggest issue however Jason only gets better within two of the next three sequels Part IV The Final Chapter (1984) and Part VI Jason Lives (1986) which are some of my all time favorite F13th movies along with Part II (1981). I was never a fan of Jason Vorhees but i finally decided to watch and own some of the movies on DVD a couple of years ago. There’s supposed to be a 13th movie in the works but from what i hear there’s a copyright lawsuit between Sean S. It explained how she survived the first go around with Jason, imho . I did have a friend theorize that the reason she probably survived the first time around was because she played dead.. so Jason assumed his job was done and went on his way LOL
I liked Chris a lot, but Jenny in Part 2 is the best final girl because she actually tried to connect with Jason on a personal level. That's just my opinion, anyway.
Great reaction ladies. I have to admit this was an entertaining reaction to watch with Tashas expressions going from scared to confused. This tends to be one of the most popular movies amongst the Jason fans. I have never liked the dialogue in this movie. I know horror is not known for good dialogue, but this is terrible. The next one is actually better, the story is better and it has a very young Corey Feldman and a Crispin Glover just before Back To The Future. Five is generally not liked, but it does have some creative kills. Six and seven are popular and have decent stories. Eight is blah. Jason Goes To Hell is very entertaining and has a special partial cameo at the end. Although, if the goal is to get to Freddy vs. Jason, you should start to catch up with more Nightmare movies.

Thank you for this again very entertaining reaction video.... I used to like this one very much because I only heard and read interesting things about it. I thought it was special because it was banned in Germany in the 90s and 2000s, so was the fourth one, That one is so, so much better! I ordered a censored VHS from England to get the chance to watch it (or rather my father cos I was 12 or something) and was oh so proud.... The movie poster looked very great and because of the bad acting it helped me learnig some Englisch I assume. Some kills are creative and the theme music is so strange but now I see its flaws and yes it is very slow in parts. The eye popping or pulling with string scene is iconic haha
Part1 grows on u, part2 is kinda special, ❤part3 4 sum reason is in my heart good cos i had it on tape, part4 every1 rates highly, part 5? Wot aliad of bollox!! The fourth is one of the better sequels next to the second. It's in the catagory of being so bad it's actually pretty good. The sixth one is just dumb fun and then it's all downhill from there lol.
I enjoy Part 3 for giving us the iconic hockey mask, some really good kills and arguably the best final chase of the franchise. That being said, I acknowledge its slow pace and overly-formulaic structure. Thankfully, Part 4 is one of the best in the franchise and one of the greatest slasher films period, so I'm sure you'll enjoy that one more.
If spiders creep you all out you should watch the 1977 movie Kingdom Of The Spiders with the legend William Shatner. Lots of real tarantulas used in the movie but what is sad is that lots were killed.
Friday The 13th gets better and better with every movie imo. Other than number 5. V sucks. Skip it. Like watch it for the fun but don't take it seriously. I don't count it as canon. But man. 3-7 excluding 5 are all great. 6 is probably my personal favorite. Number 3 has probably the most brutal kill in the entire series tho. With the handstand crouch kill.

Friday 1-3 are good films but not my favorites. Some cool things in them though. Chronologically don't make much sense unless Jason was hanging out the whole time without his Mom's knowledge. It's all weird and the nightmare jump scares at the ends are so crazy. The guy doing the hand stand in this film, Jason definitely killed slashing from up to down, but on the rafters he was cut in half at his waist. 90° from the slash we saw. The best part about these movies is not just how Jason moves the bodies so people don't find them til it's the right time. It's how he must mop up the blood so nobody sees it all over the floor, unless everybody is completely oblivious. Cause cutting someone in half like that would prolly leave more than just a shit ton of blood all over. Without spoilers... The next one, 4, is much better!! You might recognize a couple actors from it when you get there. 5 has one of my favorite characters, that I will wait til we get there to comment on. 6 is amazing and great and brings us to a whole new level in the franchise. We shall wait til we get there to comment further. And 7 is my favorite of all of the franchise pretty much. 8 is..... 9 (Jason Goes To Hell) please be sure to watch the unrated version if possible, the special effects are much better because they weren't censored. X has some crazy awesome kills. I think after that is F v J and the remake, which I didn't hate like some people might. PS were you guys going to watch the original Hellraiser at some point?
No slasher is designed more to maximize profits at the cost of story than the Friday The 13th films. I do feel like if you are going to engage in a genre like Horror, you do kind of need to work your way through some, (at least the 3 or 4 films,) of these major, decades-long franchises. Most of the films in them are awful, but they are still cultural touchstones-many films have and still do attempt to copy them while others have explicitly steered away from them, to oversimplify the landscape a bit.) I agree, the bit in the beginning was meant to establish the whole film at the lake and even the series as a whole is just understood to take place there-somewhere on the lake; however, after seeing Jason Takes Manhattan, you’ll understand that it’s clearly not a prerequisite for the films in the franchise.

The story regarding Chris and her victimization at Crystal Lake in the past is important. Steve Miner, the directed, wanted to approach the slasher genre in a unique way. It is heavily implied Chris is the victim of sexual assault by Jason, and she does not remember it due to post traumatic stress disorder. At the time, the idea of violence being inflicted through sex was not something seen much in horror movies, let alone the slasher genre. I agree part 3 can be cringeworthy at times, but the storyline regarding Chris and her past trauma through sex at the hands of Jason sets it apart from other slasher movies. If you did not go into this movie with such a bad attitude, you would have understood it.

Well, that certainly is an interesting interpretation…but I have seen absolutely nothing that would led to that conclusion. Jason supposedly has the mind of a child, I don’t think sexual assault would be something he would do. Of course, at the end of the day “he” isn’t real, is he? 😉 Kayt loves slasher movies and Tasha had high hopes doe this one, the only person not thrilled about it was me, and in case you haven’t noticed, sarcasm and snark are kinda my thing. I do not like slasher movies and I have never liked Jason or Michael as horror movie characters. But we are all entitled to our own opinions! That’s the beauty of horror. It’s so subjective and at times so visceral, that you will find what scares you may not scare me and vice-versa. But we can still appreciate the genre as a whole, without loving every single horror movie ever made. 😊

I'm sorry you feel that way but that's not true. Usually we get excited when there is one that is requested a lot. Many people wanted us to do Silent Night Deadly Night and we loved the hell out of that one. I'm all for the so bad its good movies but this one just didn't do it for me. The actor who played the gang leader also played the bouncer in Fright Night and had a small role in Coming To America.

6 is up there for me, but I think 7 is my absolute favorite. 7 might have been the first Friday I ever saw and was able to focus the whole time. I may have seen pics or clips from the previous ones before seeing 7, but didn't remember them or watch them completely to know them well. After the time I saw 7, I collected the movies and gave them all a serious watching.

Jason- is such a stand-up guy. Shelly is NOT normal, like most guys😂 31:52, "I've always wanted a daughter"😂 This is one of the funniest reaction channels on YT. Don't listen to the negative critics. As you can see, they don't even have the balls to have a reaction channel. They're too busy hiding behind their PC criticizing YT reactors.
The 3D for this film is the kind with the old red-and-blue glasses. So watching it with the glasses on means watching it with that colored tint to it, and the effect simply isn't as good as the modern 3D. Some DVD copies came with both the 2D and 3D versions and included a couple pairs of 3D glasses, so at least watching it in either way at home was an option.
But despite the 3D "stuff coming at the camera" gimmick, this is my second favorite in the series behind Part 6. We get Jason's hockey mask for the first time, Shelly is one of the more relatable characters in the series, and the film's premise hadn't yet worn out its welcome. Also, the acting in Chili's death scene may be the most so-bad-it's-hilariously-great of all of Jason's kills.
this film suffered from being shot in 3D (all the attention & money went behind the “New” gimmick 3D (The real 3D conversion is actually really impressive especially for the time it was made… it also feels a bit off due to the location it was filmed in CA (The gore pushed the limits of what rated R could do) i consider FT13 2-4 a nice trilogy of films that link up very good (Compared to later on in the series where the time line is manic and uneven) there’s missed opportunities with Chris back story encountering Jason (which is somewhere in the timeline of FT13 part 1&2) Debbie being pregnant is something that tends to get overlooked, Richard Brooker is the most overlooked actor to play Jason his version of the character seems more balanced (very enjoyable reaction)
Yeah, I remember back then when 3D was popular. And rightfully so. Back then, there was no such thing as CGI and mind-blowing special effects, as it is today. Also, cable was just making it big (you had to have money if you wanted cable) and we were still watching rented movies on the VCR and Beta box. Besides that, horror movies were not as popular back then as they are today. Only true horror movie lovers praised the horror movies and the critics just ripped into them because they were not popular.
Continuity throughout the franchise always has been the biggest issue however Jason only gets better within two of the next three sequels Part IV The Final Chapter (1984) and Part VI Jason Lives (1986) which are some of my all time favorite F13th movies along with Part II (1981). I was never a fan of Jason Vorhees but i finally decided to watch and own some of the movies on DVD a couple of years ago. There’s supposed to be a 13th movie in the works but from what i hear there’s a copyright lawsuit between Sean S. It explained how she survived the first go around with Jason, imho . I did have a friend theorize that the reason she probably survived the first time around was because she played dead.. so Jason assumed his job was done and went on his way LOL

Great reaction ladies. I have to admit this was an entertaining reaction to watch with Tashas expressions going from scared to confused. This tends to be one of the most popular movies amongst the Jason fans. I have never liked the dialogue in this movie. I know horror is not known for good dialogue, but this is terrible.
The next one is actually better, the story is better and it has a very young Corey Feldman and a Crispin Glover just before Back To The Future. Five is generally not liked, but it does have some creative kills.
Six and seven are popular and have decent stories. Eight is blah. Jason Goes To Hell is very entertaining and has a special partial cameo at the end.
Although, if the goal is to get to Freddy vs. Jason, you should start to catch up with more Nightmare movies.

Thank you for this again very entertaining reaction video.... I used to like this one very much because I only heard and read interesting things about it. I thought it was special because it was banned in Germany in the 90s and 2000s, so was the fourth one, That one is so, so much better! I ordered a censored VHS from England to get the chance to watch it (or rather my father cos I was 12 or something) and was oh so proud.... The movie poster looked very great and because of the bad acting it helped me learnig some Englisch I assume. Some kills are creative and the theme music is so strange but now I see its flaws and yes it is very slow in parts. The eye popping or pulling with string scene is iconic haha

Friday the 13th is an 3D AWESOME MOVIE
I enjoy Part 3 for giving us the iconic hockey mask, some really good kills and arguably the best final chase of the franchise. That being said, I acknowledge its slow pace and overly-formulaic structure. Thankfully, Part 4 is one of the best in the franchise and one of the greatest slasher films period, so I'm sure you'll enjoy that one more.
If spiders creep you all out you should watch the 1977 movie Kingdom Of The Spiders with the legend William Shatner. Lots of real tarantulas used in the movie but what is sad is that lots were killed.

Friday The 13th gets better and better with every movie imo. Other than number 5. V sucks. Skip it. Like watch it for the fun but don't take it seriously. I don't count it as canon. But man. 3-7 excluding 5 are all great. 6 is probably my personal favorite.

Friday 1-3 are good films but not my favorites. Some cool things in them though. Chronologically don't make much sense unless Jason was hanging out the whole time without his Mom's knowledge. It's all weird and the nightmare jump scares at the ends are so crazy.
The guy doing the hand stand in this film, Jason definitely killed slashing from up to down, but on the rafters he was cut in half at his waist. 90° from the slash we saw. The best part about these movies is not just how Jason moves the bodies so people don't find them til it's the right time. It's how he must mop up the blood so nobody sees it all over the floor, unless everybody is completely oblivious. Cause cutting someone in half like that would prolly leave more than just a shit ton of blood all over.

The next one, 4, is much better!! You might recognize a couple actors from it when you get there.
5 has one of my favorite characters, that I will wait til we get there to comment on.
6 is amazing and great and brings us to a whole new level in the franchise. We shall wait til we get there to comment further.
And 7 is my favorite of all of the franchise pretty much.

9 (Jason Goes To Hell) please be sure to watch the unrated version if possible, the special effects are much better because they weren't censored.

No slasher is designed more to maximize profits at the cost of story than the Friday The 13th films.
I do feel like if you are going to engage in a genre like Horror, you do kind of need to work your way through some, (at least the 3 or 4 films,) of these major, decades-long franchises.
Most of the films in them are awful, but they are still cultural touchstones-many films have and still do attempt to copy them while others have explicitly steered away from them, to oversimplify the landscape a bit.)
I agree, the bit in the beginning was meant to establish the whole film at the lake and even the series as a whole is just understood to take place there-somewhere on the lake; however, after seeing Jason Takes Manhattan, you’ll understand that it’s clearly not a prerequisite for the films in the franchise.

VII is my personal favorite and (IMO) the official end of the series.
This is probably the worst one in the franchise. So the good news is that they get better from here.
Part 1 is the classic. Part 2 is the favorite. Part 3 is the iconic. And Part 4 is the best. (The rest can go in the trash; don't bother).
2 is better than 4 although Ted White was the best Jason in the entire franchise.
Part 5 gets too much hate and is the last film of the series with the look and feel of the originally. 6 is fun and very self-aware. The rest are f#cking trash.

The story regarding Chris and her victimization at Crystal Lake in the past is important. Steve Miner, the directed, wanted to approach the slasher genre in a unique way. It is heavily implied Chris is the victim of sexual assault by Jason, and she does not remember it due to post traumatic stress disorder. At the time, the idea of violence being inflicted through sex was not something seen much in horror movies, let alone the slasher genre. I agree part 3 can be cringeworthy at times, but the storyline regarding Chris and her past trauma through sex at the hands of Jason sets it apart from other slasher movies. If you did not go into this movie with such a bad attitude, you would have understood it.
It's not implied at all. Nowhere in the franchise is there even a suggestion that Jason would commit sexual assault.

Well, that certainly is an interesting interpretation…but I have seen absolutely nothing that would led to that conclusion. Jason supposedly has the mind of a child, I don’t think sexual assault would be something he would do. Of course, at the end of the day “he” isn’t real, is he? 😉 Kayt loves slasher movies and Tasha had high hopes doe this one, the only person not thrilled about it was me, and in case you haven’t noticed, sarcasm and snark are kinda my thing. I do not like slasher movies and I have never liked Jason or Michael as horror movie characters. But we are all entitled to our own opinions! That’s the beauty of horror. It’s so subjective and at times so visceral, that you will find what scares you may not scare me and vice-versa. But we can still appreciate the genre as a whole, without loving every single horror movie ever made. 😊

I'm sorry you feel that way but that's not true. Usually we get excited when there is one that is requested a lot.
