It's just some bosses are not fun to fight in some way, "messmer" "Commander Gaius" "Rellana" AKA no breathing room First time i fought Rellana it drained 15 arc runes. They also made poise EVEN more useless
@@guestindisguise7079 That's the point, you're suposed to play AROUND them not smash your face against them. And i say that as a STR build with the greatsword, learning the moveset and dodging and finding your time to attack after they're done.
@@JustAreru I was a dual sword wielder.... I had barely any openings, worse that i kept getting "failed to summon" on 9/10 summons. Only reason why i smashed most of the bosses (except Leda) second time was because of ultra greatsword. But not all people play with colossal weapons. Also try fighting Commander Gaius or Putrescent Knight, tell me to find my time. Leda, if you have done all NPC quests, you will fight a 4-5v3 at best
@@guestindisguise7079 There's openings but you have to look for them, you're using dual swords i was using ultra greatsword and i was getting two tapped so if i didn't land my strikes and then dodge i was getting wiped out, for my Rellana fight i did it with my mimic tear with the rot item that heals you at the cost of poisoning you. I managed to find time at the end and in between her combos to land some strikes. Sometimes it's better to chip away at their health rather than killing them in five minutes.
I get that people get mad at these games because I get mad at games, but to act like it's not supposed to raise the difficulty or anything like that is stupid because all of these games are like that
I started the dlc on my 13th playthrough and let me tell you, everything hits like a freight train. I use summons and spells because it’s fun and I like to live through the bosses
damn, I had no idea people were this mad about it. I had so much fun on this dlc without summons or magic. don't get me wrong, use whatever you want to to have a good time. I personally think it's more fun to fight the bosses on my own without completely cheesing them. it took me like 3 hours to beat rellana
Also sometimes its smart to think a bit about what damage types might be better. Like Relannas Arena is filled with water and shes wearing metal armour guys please just use lightning.
I’ve spent a literal day on Rellana and it’s still a fun fight to me, I will admit that I screamed at my screen when she one shotted me using the twin moons spell but it was so rewarding to dodge flawlessly after a few tries. It’s fun because it’s hard and it being fun makes it rewarding.
So far i love it, the game is giving those old school from soft vibes, everything is dark and eerie, the bosses are hard as shit and its feels great to kill them. I love the exploring of the new map, i love the sekiro leveling system, i love the weapons, i love everything about this dlc so far, i was hoping messmer was going to be harder, i wanted to be stuck on him for a week like i was OG Radahn. I haven't completed it yet but i cant wait till i do and im able to replay it
Preach borther! Was the dlc hard? Sure was. Got slapped twice and was dead. Bosses jumping you right as you walked in. Wearing out the dodge button on every 12+ hit combo. Frankly, I had a good time. And at the very end, I found an absolutely insane cheesey build to use next time
I beat the dlc only with greatsword It was definitely hard and especially the final boss (I won't spoil it) It took me about 100 tries, but that's exactly what FromSoft is for me, learning the boss completely and then defeating him
If anything I’m just getting lost a lot cause it’s such a big map but I can say for sure it’s not a complaint at all the difficulty and open world just pair perfectly
I think my mistake for the dlc was playing it on new game +4😂 playing with a bloodhound fang build. I am legit using everything at my disposal from summons to spirit ashes. I died over 120 times in the rellana fight. but that victory was so worth it. I am now going up against the final boss. I’m getting absolutely curved, but I’m getting consistently to phase 2. My goal is to just play the game and go crazy with rage😂
People are just used to pulling up CZcams, looking a busted build and running through the main game with little to no challenge. The dlc offers a challenge and most casuals crumble and cry instead of actually taking a step back and learning the bosses, using summons or actually getting a good build that isn't a one trick pony
THANK YOU Since when did having fun by using what the game gives you become “cheating” or “being a baby?” My buddy just started playing elden ring, and yeah he went straight for magic! Not because magic is strong, because its fun to use
Im on my 7th playthrough, and yes, it's difficult, but not completely broken at all. I literally went and got a couple of fragments after struggling with the Lion as he was either on shotting me at 60 vigor and sometimes 2 shotting me. However, with the fragments, i was able to take 3 or 4 hits and killed him quickly.
The waves of carnival style humor this topic is generating is amazing 😂 I’m still playing my first ever play through…but I have two separate characters for reasons…and there are certain side bosses I’m stuck on but will most likely find a solution in due time I’m a very light FromSoft game player for the time being…but even I understand that the game is supposed to be ridiculous hard The people complaining about the difficulty would still be complaining even if they pushed it in the other direction 😝
They just have a skill issue. They just need to get some better items, learn that they can use magic and summons, get Scadutree and Reverned spirit ash blessings, and practice to get them
Messmer is actually way easier than both Romina and Gaius. Turns out he is actually meant to be fought before them. So you should have already fought messmer by now
Idk I beat her twice before she got nerfed and spend every night helping others, beat her at least 20x now - with daggers / up close and personal dodging her attacks and moving with her rhythm, she’s not a hard boss, just takes patience. I no hit Malenia with daggers as well so I’d have an idea. :p
It’s really not a hard game, and honestly the mimic tear isn’t doing as much damage to the boss as you do, it’s more of a distraction If you’re a purist then play without it, but like don’t complain it’s too hard and not use it
The people who complain about it being hard don’t understand the level system in the dlc and don’t read anything either. Their bots they are the people who don’t have any game sense and don’t adapt to the situations in the game they just want everything to be aimlessly easy and be hand held through everything. The people complaining about others using summons are even bigger bots it’s in the game to be utilized there’s no elden ring rule book saying otherwise they bought the game with their own hard earned money and can play however they want it’s not effecting you in anyway if this is something that actually upsets you then you need so self reflecting to work on
It's not just only using a greatsword. As you mentioned, people don't even use their spirit ashes. But, on top of that, I would say the biggest problem is likely people not collecting the shards. The only thing that should be "cheating" is using multiplayer.
Multi-player isn't cheating. I wish people would stop making game mechanics the devs purposefully placed in the game to enhance or help players enjoy the game more as cheating.I love that Multi-player is optional I use it often because I enjoy playing with others and helping others, this ignorant nonsense calling everything cheating crap needs to stop its ridiculous.
@@johnathandoyle2662 There is a reason I quoted that word. However, originally the souls games were designed around 1 player against 1 boss. Not multiple players against 1 boss. That's why in earlier games you could just gangbang bosses if you summoned others, it was very unfair. However, in Elden Ring, most of the bosses have AOE oriented attacks making multiplayer still better than solo, but not nearly as much as previous games.
@LeiRaion the Multi-player system was designed in a very specific way. The idea came to him from a personal experience one day while driving in the snow going uphill where he and a few others got stuck. He explains this in an interview from 2010. Yes, his games are more or less designed to be solo, but if you get stuck and need help, you could get it from random strangers. This is why I get so irritated when people call Multi-player cheating to me its spitting in miyazakis face.
Asmond is just trash at the game , people starting new characters and rushing the dlc are obviously going to have a flight time on the dlc . If you throughly played the main game you’ve collected all sorts of things that give bonuses and buffs for exploration and health regeneration . Not only that people don’t understand the tear system . These games are designed to be hard , hardcore vet fans need the challenge and hence that’s what the games designed for . Statistics show that only 35% of players have compleated enough of the game to even acces the dlc
Ive been seeing success but i just dont find the bosses fun even though i beat them they were so unfun compared to the original game its like the developers were like how can we make a hard game completely unfair
The base game was hard tell you hit the lvl gap will happen with the dlc people just need to stop thinking every dlc is just gonna be a cake walk. Sorry to say the real dark souls are still harder.

Are you in ng+ by any chance?
Dudeeeee!!! I'm on my 7th playthrough, and Rellana is kicking my ass. Glad I'm not alone on being on higher NG+

I got rheumatoid arthritis bad in all joints including hands if I can beat it you guys can! Keep working at it!

Bruh, jacksepticeye finished the dlc as he got it early and that man had fun even tho he used summons, he had fun
I mean. They already nerfed the dlc, so us tryhards lost the war.
I beat the dlc only with greatsword
It was definitely hard and especially the final boss (I won't spoil it) It took me about 100 tries, but that's exactly what FromSoft is for me, learning the boss completely and then defeating him
Endboss feels a bit broken to be honest. But still beatable
Idk why they thought it was gonna be easy
I don't use magic because I prefer bows/crossbows for range. I utilize everything else tho
Grindville 😂

I fucking love that they put messmer in the pic cus that man is the easiest of the bunch
That's a wild take bro
Yea, like the DLC is hard most definitely but hell, if I can beat the DLC with not even max fragments and on NG+2 I’m pretty sure most people can

The dlc isn’t that hard, they’re either not leveled up enough or just not good. Or like you said using a playstyle that doesn’t suit them.

The only boss harder than malenia in this dlc is the final boss (Won't spoil it cus it's a neat surprise)
They just have a skill issue. They just need to get some better items, learn that they can use magic and summons, get Scadutree and Reverned spirit ash blessings, and practice to get them

I beat radahn with Danes footwork after two straight hours at 17stf,u just gotta have that dog in u
Edit:stf:scadutree fragments
After beat the dlc, I played the base game again and..... every boss felt slow and readable
Find some shadow fragments and you will be fine 😂

A souls game hard? You have to adapt and overcome? Say it ain’t so!!!! In the wise words of the souls community: git gud
If you don’t want to get good at your build, switch builds and level up….
It’s just a skill issue I already beat the dlc 3 times
Summons literally take the challenge out the game
Its suppostu be hard
What a bunch a 🐱
There's this thing called cheat engine. I just re-spec my character retroactively to suit each situation. Check and mate.
100% undetectable (provided you dont change certain things) and every item isnat your fingertips! Muwahahahahaha!
If u use magic or summon u are weak minded 🤷
Skill issue
Poor babies crying about a game being hard. Get good noobs!
Git gud scrubs
Nah most the content creators are just trash
Imagine buying a soulslike and whining about the combat being difficult.
