Thank you all the amazing support, truly blessed by the Emperor to be surrounded by you all!
I may or may not be jealous of that "exhaust pipe"....
Good video. Just thought, if i ever see you i can technically introduce you as my employee. Fuck im winning in life
You deserve the support you make great content mate!
I believe the Warhammer Community article about the AdMech reveal indicated that the new AdMech stilted sniper model has Lone Operative so that would be a nice defensive ability to keep such a tall model safe. As for the generic Necron character, I believe it could be the individual release of the Necron Royal Warden from the Indomitus box set from the beginning of 9th edition. Would be fitting since GW have only recently done standalone releases for the Space Marine Captain and Lieutenant from that same box set as well as the Master of Possession from the Shadowspear box set.
Fun stream
honestly as long as they make imotekh as good as his power level is supposed to be im happy
I personally like the idea of the kill zone being available separately. Just remember how annoyed we were when the four boxes of the Gallowdark season all included the same terrain.
I love the Mechanicus model, despite being clearly the most fragile GW mini in history, because it comes from a bit of lore from the original Skitarii codex about the stilt-walking Mask-seekers of Sydonia that inspired the Ironstrider Engine and of course the Cydonian Sisterhood of assassins from the Heresy era.
The AdMech Sniper looks like one of the *Tall Boy* enemies from the *Dishonored* games.
But less cool :(
The striking scorpion poses are awesome! Yeah there is only like 5 poses but they look so much better than the old ones. Cant wait to see their phoenix lord when he comes now. Plus you can mix the dire acenger kit with them to make other poses
As a Kill Team box, it's also going to get picked up by ppl who are just dipping their toe in to Warhammer, they can't make it too intricate.
Hoping there is an all helmet option, or I'll be swapping with someone who prefers the open helm look
@@CptnAwsmBallsif it’s anything like the banshees and dark reapers there will be, don’t worry!
I think the model quality is excellent but what i found odd was a lack of dynamic poses - for a race so fleet of foot, i would have expecting running, pouncing, crouching, vaulting etc.. - these are fine but look very static.
@terminatoruk4921 Yeah, that is annoying they haven't added poses like that. It would be good to see what poses the warp spiders have or the swooping hawks as you should be able to swap parts out from those kits unless there are spider webs on the warp spiders
‘You grow weak,’ the Stormlord said. ‘Weak and tired. You and your kin will fail here, as humanity’s empire will fail. Because I will it.’
Helbrecht snarled. ‘You are arrogant,’ he said, through blood-flecked teeth. ‘A relic of a dead empire that has no right to exist.’
The Stormlord cocked its head. ‘That is quite amusing, coming from one such as you.’
Helbrecht vs Imotekh.
as a necron player i like the updated model. Has an ode to the origonal with the updated over all armor look for immotek the storm lord. I am excited about a new Orikan and im hoping the non named HQ will be a basic lord since we have a newer nice looking overlord.
Yeah it was a bit of a let down for me too. I honestly expected them to reveal something extra special, after all the articles they have been releasing for the 40 years anniversary.
Feels like this should have been the year to release unusually good, 40th anniversary boxes and starters to celebrate and get more people into the games.
I guess we will get 40th anniversary Christmas boxes with fewer models and higher prices the way things are going now.
Some rereleases of old starter sets would have been cool, nice homage to the old editions
@@KrullMaestaren Valrak already did a piece on the Christmas boxes, and if he's correct you're pretty much exactly right at least on the 'fewer models' side.
@@The_Captain40k Supposedly those are coming - at least the final two WFB editions (the models rather than the rules). Old World was presumably intended for this year but missed due to schedule delays, as they say now that it will be 'very early' 2024. So they ended up without any real 'Warhammer' to preview and we got the 40k 36th Anniversary instead.
Rereleasing the RT hardback book was a nice touch, and to be fair to them there isn't a comparable WFB release that makes sense - certainly not the first edition's mail order fliers, and while the RT book is a good collector's item thanks to older lore and colour schemes, the oldest editions of WFB didn't really have much background. The best resource for early WFB background is the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st edition book, and most of that is fairly faithfully recreated in the current edition.
Old world reveal was great, we have more new models than I thought we going to originally get, the foot knights have bits that can upgrade the knights on horses too.
No it wasn’t lol we got two new kits after all these years over half the range will be in resin & the returning kits look far to dated next to the new stuff
I'm so excited! I will be replacing the helmets on my mounted knights with the new helmets for sure.
@@Hahaha-yt2id Did you expect GW to pull all there resources into completely refreshing over a dozen factions all at once? With the amount of funds invested into The Old World it's quite refreshing to see the design direction they're taking, as the models are stunning.
@@Hahaha-yt2id - This. Those old Pegasii will look so derp next to that new big center piece. What a ball drop.
@@andrewm.9025 no I didn’t but I also didn’t expect gw to only release 2 new kits after all these years & the rest are re release kits that are 20 year years old I also didn’t expect them to waste resources by dumping the rest of the line into forgeworld resin that are key models you know like hero models & a artillery piece
i totally agree, 40 YEARS ANNIVERSARY and they show 8 new models and 5 striking scorpions in less than an hour
Was The Lion,10th edition, and all the new SM and Tyranid models not good enough for you?
36 years anniversary. Wait 4 years.
@@andrewm.9025 was all of this shown on that, 40 years anniversary stream? Dude, its like their 40th birthday, and as usual they promote it as "the bigest" and in the end they didint even show all the models they have, thats just.... Not special for me
@@bogdanj5848 No, but it's easy to claim this entire year as the 40th anniversary. I've learned throughout life is best to lower my expectations and also view situations from different prospectives, as it saves heartache and disappointment.
Don't get upset for what you didn't get, but be grateful for what you have, especially when it's something completely out of your control.
I think a big problem for GW regarding their Eldar range, is that customers have been stuck with really old sculpts for so long that lot of 3rd party companies have stepped in and made better versions than their official range refresh.
I think so. I'll be picking those up eventually but when I do I'll probably make 5 of them like the box and then start converting/kit bashing there others. Really would have loved a crouched/ sneaking pose for one of them, perched perhaps on top of a rock or other terrain feature
Absolutely no need for new scorpions. Already got the amazing artel w ones.
@@brianp6859 Seems like a sensible choice. If you ever consider looking at what non-GW companies have to offer them I'd strongly recommend ArtelW's Starborn Ancients range. Their proxies are phenomenal!
@@dominicmetzger3246 Exactly the range that I compared the GW ones to when they were revealed! The sculpt quality is near to incomparable!
Nah I like official ones way more
As a Imotekh fanboy (thank you Adeptus Ridiculous) that doesn't play *yet* Necrons. I love it! Loved the tiny scarab thingies crawling through the cape like a hidden threat that you can't see until is too late
The Sydonian Skratos (stilt sniper!!!) is confirmed by the WarCom article to have both Stealth (somehow?) and Lone Operative so he'll be difficult to shoot back at as he towers over his foes.
He may have some cool rules but still looks goofie AF
LOS against him is going to be a nightmare. If that rifle has precision he's really going to make intercessor sized characters take pause and consider him.
@@darkgeargaming1564he does. Both versions of the rifle have precision as a keyword
@@CMTechnica that is going to be nasty against lists such as space wolves who rely on characters
I can explain stealth easy: People don't look up. You don't notice him in time, and he snipes you before you realize he's there
I was hoping to see some more "striking" poses for the eldar tbh. I do like the classic rocket launcher on the scout, I wish the Primaris got an updated version of it instead of the t-shirt launchers.
The Old World "reveal" was gut wrenching. Knowing I sold off all my knights, men at arms and bowmen years ago I was hoping to see something new. This really shows they are cutting corners if this is part of the whole range. I dont mind reusing old models for those that held onto their armies but to see no refresh on old models is so strange. And the mention of METAL model!? Insane. And its safe to bet they will be full price as well regardless.
I agree about the bretonnians honestly I think GW has gotten in their own way with the old world release. What they should have done if they like money was release two factions at launch with completely redone multipart plastic kits with rules for all the other factions for those with old collections and then over time released new plastic kits for each faction one at a time. A bit of a pain but I think that would have attracted new players more. I love the new bretonnian plastics but if I can't have a whole army in just the new plastics I'm not really that interested, especially with how those old plastics are likely to be priced 🙄
They said that the old peasant archers would be coming 32 to a box. That sounds to me as though they're going to be selling them relatively cheap per model compared to other similarly sized GW models. Could be that you'd get about three peasant archers for the cost of an intercessor. That's quite promising. I wouldn't think there would be much point in packing them into big boxes if they were going to try and charge the same high prices as for newer models.
Regarding the striking scorpions: they clearly said it was 2 "boxes" of 5, so of course there's only 5 poses - I don't understand the criticism?
I think it's also the poses don't look amazing in general ?? Compared to some of the other new sculpts we've been getting they seem a little underwhelming, in my opinion .
@LewisChappy that's fair. Not the most inspired poses. Kind of the same with the storm lord- model looks amazing but somehow underwhelming at the same time
Immotek honestly just needed a new bigger base with some extra stuff on it to sell the model better to the audience. It looks like a 40mm base like the overlord but this is a big character we are talking about. He should have come on something more impressive like the Lion got. I gotta think with the nercon models yet to be revealed, it may be possible they get a box set. Maybe slot it for a late November pre-order. With no new rumors pointing to any other box sets coming out aside from christmas boxes, this may be the case. Slide the new codex in and Ill preorder that day one lol.
That new admech sniper is awesome. It’s all weird and cybernetic and totally fits their vibe
For the Admech Stalker/Sniper, The Pose is the main problem. If it was more hunched over, sighting down the rifle like it was hunting down targets, that would have been far more appealing. However, I don't get the advantage over a Sydonian Dragoon with Jezzail, except perhaps that I would expect it to be cheaper. Unless the stilts were more articulated, it just looks kind of ungainly and that it would have trouble traversing the battlefield when it wasn't wading through swamps or sand dunes. I would have much preferred this model just to have a body like a Ruststalker on maybe grapnel repelling gear to help it into prime sniping positions. Any fast moving adversary would chop those legs out from under it, or ripper/scarab swarms would just climb up to get at the fleshy bits
I kind of like it. For some reason i just have this image stuck in my head of a ruined 40k city with a layer of fog and all you see out of the corner of your eye is the fast moving silhouette of this thing dashing between buildings and that would be freaky AF lol
Yeah I have no clue why they decided to have him be at ease instead of aiming down his sniper. That's the appeal of these types of models and this would have been so cool imagine he's aiming his gun down at a unit behind terrain that thinks it's safe before getting shot between the eyes.
To be fair once a sniper is found 9/10 they are as good as dead. One of the most dangerous positions next to a machine gunner.
It was the Kill Team releases that got me drooling. I like those striking scorpions, but the new scouts are tasty. Love the new Battlezone set too.
Can't unsee the Gladiator set with the terrain now you've said it! 😂
This took the wind out of my sails, I really wanted the Old World stuff, but I'm never going back to metal
Valrak has been VINDICATED! Someone get that Chapter Master a Vindicator!
Imotekh missing that Barrel chest. Extendo legs sniper is adorable they're having fun with Admech models. Wish the legs were adjustable.. but he's got stealth and lone operative so should be fine sitting back and sniping. Was hoping for a squad of snipers instead of single model bit but ah well. Striking Scorpions look great but the poses are..odd. I'm glad the models aren't in one big 300 dollar box. Old world being a mix of plastic, metal and resin is...pretty shit. Probably won't get into it because of that
I love the way they’re doing the terrain. Us Kill Team players have a lot of terrain already and this saves us time and money.
Will it or this a way to price creep?
@@discrtidunkwn The average price for a box over the past two seasons has been roughly between $190 and $200. If you’re buying all four in a season that’ll put somewhere between $760 and $800. Warcry and Kill Team boxes have been similarly priced over their lifecycles. The new Warcry boxes are priced at $130 and $112. I would say it’s safe to assume that the Kill Team boxes will cost the same. That would mean an entry cost into this season of $242. Will there be price fluctuations between boxes? Most likely, but I don’t see the prices going any lower than $115 or above $150. So in the long run, yes it will be cheaper. I predict that all of the boxes will be somewhere between $600 and $640.
@@ianbabcock6802 I am afraid that will still be 180 but without terrain. I hope you right though.
@@discrtidunkwn So do I.
Wow! I had no idea you had Gladiators in the UK! I loved American Gladiators. They even put on live shows on tour. I was lucky enough to see it. It was just as good in person! Thanks for showing off the new stuff. And I love your hoodie!
I have a lot of love for a number classic sculpts, particularly for TOW, those models have been OOP for so long, the nostalgia is strong and also i just like that theyre not the overly detailed styling of today. They feel more like game pieces made by hand that are to be enjoyed from an arms length rather than under macro photography.
Not an eldar player but I think the Eldar range is one that has held up the best from lack of updates. So the Scorpions just being a little plussed up and keeping the bigger classic proportions and it looks like some easier modeling than stuff like the Kommandos which were a miserable build experience, that gives me the good brain chemicals. Unfortunately Im broke as hell. Im even debating the anniversary Votann model.
You were right on Kill Team after all, but this packaging is truly bizarre. Considering that the Blades of Khaine team is basically a White Dwarf team (i.e. a mix and match of existing kits rather than something that can be made from a single box), they could at least have packaged the box as Scorps+Banshees rather than a 2xScorps box (there are 5 poses because there are 5 models in the box - they mentioned that the box contains two squad boxes of Scorps and two of Scouts).
I like the Bret pegasus lord and the way the range has been revealed. The pegasus knights look rather dated but the rest of the existing kits haven't aged badly. The foot knights do look good, but overall I'm a bit dissatisfied that they've stuck quite so closely to the old WFB aesthetics, but treating what used to be sculpting limitations as stylistic choices: compared with modern AoS kits the heads are overlarge, the models too squat, the weapons too big, and the poses don't need to be quite as static as they are to rank up well. I'd rather they did what they do with AoS range updates like Seraphon and update the models to modern styles and standards (though I will admit new Saurus will be a nightmare to rank up). Also of note, they did say some other kits are coming back in metal - these will presumably include the Green Knight and probably things like Grail Knights and Battle Pilgrims.
AoS - which you passed over - got the highlight of these reveals, I feel - Belthanos isn't vaguely what I'd have expected from the AoS version of Orion, even with the horn and spear, but he is the most useful for me as a Sylvaneth player and a nice model. The Stormcast model has a great dragon, and I like them bringing back these bit-part characters from early AoS (they did the same with the Lady of Vines and King Brodd).
Brettonia simply looks stunning.
im doing classic silver necrons so it's awesome to see the OG of these guys back, i'm gonna get him for sure. i dont think it looks bad, can always do some converting on him anyway. let's see what he looks like on the table.
Yea 40 year anniversary should have had something more. How about a proper documentary (Amazon hello?) on the past 40 years, future teasers, old mini painting contests, competitions etc etc
Love the refresh of Imotekh (and that they're doing refreshes of more characters). Also love the new Ad Mech model (weird works well with them).
Surprised they arent doing c'tan refreshes. The void dragon seemed to have sold well, and with a new codex they could make them... highly used.
☹️ I’m still sad they didn’t make new ones
Stilt man is so goofy I love him.
Finally! A proper powerful looking named Necron that doesn't come with a load of giant plastic shapes to bump the price up!
The necron cape is so cool with the wee scarabs crawling over it
The Ad Mech is so ridiculous even by 40k standards. He would fall over everytime he fires
Go, go gadget legs!
Imotekh has perfected the evil mastermind pose.
Suck it Szarekhan! The Sautekh are the poster boys once again! Who ever said silver wasn't the color of first place was wrong!
Geez, that Admech sniper’s gun is massive. And I thought the Primaris desolation squad was bad…
The new admech unit reminds me of the stilts walker things from Dishonored (a steampunk video game). The admech even have that steampunk look.
New admech unit is peak 40k and the new Striking Scorpions are fantastic
The old world minis look magnificent
Hahahaha! Necrons: look at our shiny new lord. Admec: look at my long dangly exhaust pipe. Haha!!!
I like the new striking scorpions. I've been collecting Eldar long enough to still have the first molds of them. These new sculpts stay true to the original aesthetic, they're bringing a lot of detail and some possibility is massively more than what we used to have.
4:17 Shrinkflation is real!
There was definitely some humour used in the design of that Admech exhaust pipe.
Thought the striking scorpions would have more dynamic poses. Maybe they’ve been done for a long time, just compare the poses with the new Tyranid range.
I was thinking that , kinda strange ....
Yes very static
Go-Go-Gadget legs and Plunging Fire is made for this model...
That's a pretty good concept for a sniper on hydraulic legs, you can go up and see over a wall or a small hill and then down when enemy returns fire.
Never thought of that
Thanks for all your work, Valrak, love you!
Can't wait for the Destroyer specific detachment
Imoteckh's model is a HD reamke of his old resin one. Could be worse, could have the go go gadget stilts the admech sniper lol
So much hype for very little, every time :))
Nailed it👌🔥
I love the admech model, heavy dishonoured vibes
Love ya Rak. Thanks for content
Those Old World models look sweeet
"These are mine" - Valrak
That admech model is so amazing, might just buy it even tho I don't have an admech army
That imotekh model is alright. Needs a skull in its hand though
I feel like that wouldn't be to hard to kitbash
@searat1824 oh it would be a piece of piss. But it adds so much
Is it me or “go round the back to check out the quality of the model” is just funny😂
Idk, I like the new scorpions. I wish there was more details on the chest armor, it kinda feels like a guardians kit with some slight adjustments compared to the detail on the dark reapers, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me
Yeah I thought so too but going back and looking at the stills again they are fine, they still have the scorpion chevron design on the abdomen and with a bit of converting and basing they will probably look pretty cool
The new admech is cool but id prefer to get more robots and servitors over more scitarii.
I bet the naysayers who were gouging out the eyes of people saying scouts were the new kill team are curled up in the corner in anger. It’s totally the kill team lmao😂
The new AdMech unit datasheet is pretty interesting. It has both Lone Operative and Stealth, and both profiles for the rifles have precision, on top of being good against either infantry or monsters/vehicles
I’m fine with the terrain being separate, so long as it’s actually available unlike the gallowdark terrain expansions
What in the holy emperor. That Ad Mec is horrendous. And yes it looks like its got a huge willy.
Well, as far as the old stuff for the Old World, if absolutely everything was new, then you'd get a really expensive army like Sisters of Battle, Admech, and Genestealers. Keeping some of the older stuff is part of the charm for some ppl too. If you DESPERATELY need everything to look new, you can kitbash in AOS parts. They seem to me to be striking a good balance.
the skitari reminds me of the Tallboys from Dishonored game.
Warhammer day. The one day they need to build hype and knock it out of the park. The one day they fucked it up
I love those bretonnia knights they looks so good really want to get them!
That admech is inspired by inspector gadget lol 😂😂😂
I am super hyped for Foot Knights!! But as for models, yeah like everyone else I'm 3D printing, if it has to be cheap resin then at least the price should reflect the quality
This felt like any pther Sunday preview but with more models.
Rule of Cool is in the eye of the Beholder.
Eldar players should be grateful they at least got one more aspect warriors unit that isn't ugly
Wife gave birth to our second son right before reveals started. My pitch for Immotek got shut down lol
terrain separately is great. Then again I am not gonna buy that box, but I would be more likely to if I wanted the models.
For the old world stuff I don't mind the old models really, but I certainly understand the price argument. They definitly need to sell them at a good price
I think the AdMech StiltStalker needs a pair of rollerskates at the bottom of his extendo-legs. Then he can zoom around Mars chasing stray servitors. There’s even a precedent for it, from an older version of the “Visions Of Heresy” book in some concept art by John Blanche. There’s a female AdMech assassin in a red leather bodysuit and rocket-powered rollerskates, so it’s not a totally new idea. Just a really weird one.
Personally i think the new Striking Scorpions looks amazing, i mean they look beefier whilst also looking like those menacing sleek green bastards running round at break neck speeds stabbing folk with fat ass chainswords and claws, which is bang on, their weapons are light in weight so them being a bit bigger to compensate a bit makes sense imo. it doesnt matter if there are 5 bodies tbh mix and match you could make loads of different versions, the only thing i dont like are the bare heads, they make no sense.
I thought it was a decent reveal show. Good stuff for both 40k and AoS, nice look at the likely starting wave for old world. I'm most exceited for Legions but at this point I just want them to actually release it at this point. But yeah it really dosent feel like a celeberation of 40 years.
Inspector Gadget enters the ad mech go go gadget legs.
The striking scorpions are litteraly the same 5 legs and torsos repeated which isn't strange for GW as they've been doing this with the primaris for a while now but it still feels kinda cheep.
Im a simple eldar i see plastic aspect warriors, i like 😆
The first time I saw the picture of the Ad Mech Sniper, I just had to laugh at how derpy he looks! 😂
After seeing his rules, he's starting to grow on me, though. If he isn't too many points, I could employing him on the table.
Imhotek is kind of disappointing. He looks almost exactly like the old miniature. Plastic instead of failcast is a step forward, but i dont see bothering to replace my existing miniature with this new one. 🤷♂️
I’m loving the new Imhotek!
I like the new Imotekh sculpt, but I think the paint scheme they used for him was a bit dirty and bland, besides the cape. I think with a fancier paint scheme, he'll look pretty killer. I'd love to see what some of the big painting creators do with him too
"I just like to put it in a cabinet and look at it"-- Chapter Master Valrak confirmed to actually be Trazyn..
Imotekh looks amazing
Honestly the Striking Scorpions are just generic Eldar painted green. They could have done so much more with them.
For me I’m going to get some of the newer AoS models like the goblins and Lizardmen and collect old world that way. Never was super fussed with bretonnians
Another reason im glsd im not an admech fan. I do however, have a Necron army and I'm pleased on that end.
I actually think that Ad Mech looks great just because it’s so weird!
Not an admech player, but i would die for stiltman.
Updated Immotehk is okay, and the new Bretonians look awesome. The returning ones are passable. Let’s hope it is because they didn’t have time to update them or something practical like that and not to sell them twice.
I don’t think anyone on stream said imotek was bland except Valdor himself…
I think the new model for him looks amazing
I do love how weird the Ad Mech army is.
Can't wait for you to wear the gimp mask for a BR! 😂
Other then that, thanks again Valrak!
Im looking forward to the gimp mask reveal;)
That hoody looks amazing, shame about the legion & colour
