  • Pair of brand new Peed Equipment 657G scrapers hitting the dirt for the very first time after being assembled at the CAT factory. These are 2 of the 4 657G scrapers purchases by Peed, the very last 4 of the 657"G" series.

    I love the 657G, how can that even feel like work when it looks so peaceful and calm in that cab. No drama, politics, nothing, just you in the driverseat doing a hard earned day of work.

    Nothing like the feel of a new scraper. All the joints and stress points are tight, no creaking, all the electronics and hydraulics work properly. You almost don't want to get it dirty.

      I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the push/pull type method. They dont move dirt like that down here in Louisiana. I just dont get why attach em when they'll do the same job separate?

    • @Bowiiihowdy
      @Bowiiihowdy Před 4 lety +1

      @@Coonass with push pull it increases power. You get a larger more compacted heavier load quicker than alone. It also decreases strain on components as the machines dont have to work so hard to get a load. I've been in triple trains where it's taken less than a minute to load all 3 and I mean load em. We where moving around 200 loads a piece push pulling

    Awesome video. On a job-site from 2001-2004 in San Jose (Ranch on Silver Creek) I worked with at least a dozen or so 657's, and a number of 637's and a bunch of 631's. It was an awesome site to see 8-10 657's in a cut, ripping it up, then running to the fill-sites. Was a HUGE job, and I believe the contractor was Independent from NorCal. Worked with a bunch of awesome people down there!! Was a great job!!

    Back in my day in the year 1975 while building lake Montcello in South Carolina, we had a fleet of 631 pans with sides added to haul 38 yards. We had to have D-9's with push blades to get us out of the Pitt. We had 25 pans running round the clock except Sunday when they service all pans and dozers and 16G Motorgrader for the haul roads. I miss those days. Today the machines you have would put me to sleep. Too easy

    At the coal fired power plant I worked at...we used a 657 with a "coal bowl". Since coal was much lighter the bowl could be much larger. One day it was loaded with rock to spread on the road using the ejector to feed it out. They loaded the large bowl like normal but since the rock weighed so much more it blew out the rear tires. Expensive day.
