That was awesome Chris 👍. Very interesting gadget you have there. So nice to see some video game content again. And of course I loved the Shenmue references
Just come across this video . Wow I use my GPD1 in a very similar way. I use Reason 5 w Rebirth / Recycle and Audacity with my Behringer Uphoria (hd 2channel).. I also draw with Sai using a Huion Kamvas 16(2019). I am glad other peeps do this sort of thing. As a nineties kid dreaming of a handheld pc this thing was the long awaited answer. I will be getting a GPD3 after seeing how efficiently it handles less demanding software.
I know right? I am a 90s kid too, and I too have always wanted a super small computer! I am wondering about some of the stuff you mentioned. I will have to check it out.
Thinking about getting one of these, i have a more powerful PC and I don't need it, all I play are old arcade games, flash games and some smaller indie titles on Steam, I already have a PS4 for bigger games, aside from that, I access the internet, use discord, listen to music and, edit some videos on Sony Vegas from time to time, that's the majority of things I do on my PC, do you think this laptop will suffice my needs? I would buy a GPD Win 2, but, there is none avaible on my country at the time of writing this comment
The win 1 is awesome for most of what you want, but when editing videos and doing discord stuff while gaming - the win 2 is the choice. The win 1 will get way too hott multitasking.
@@diejuse I hardly type on it. I use it for games mainly, and quick video editing. I'd prefer an actual computer to type something like a paper. It's not bad if you're just messaging someone on Facebook or surfing the web, but I wouldn't type a report on it. Haha.
Ya. It was originally a mugen with 2 characters and 1 stage I believe. It was more of a template to get you started with the old school style of mugen. I just put characters and a few stages in there along with some music. You could find it on the mugen archives website. It's a good starting point if you haven't used mugen that much.
@@fred0000 is it worth it because I can't afford win 2 and also the games off steam I can download straight to SD card? one more thing the games off steam are ready to play ? Do I have to mess around with settings?
@@RedBullAddict-_- I know you're talking to the other dude, but in order to have a good time with steam games on the win 1, you're going to have to do a lot of tweaking to the system. I would invest in a GPD Win 2 because out of the box you could play a lot of games off of steam with NO tweaking (you'll just have to tweak the games settings). The Win 2 is a lot better. But it's not to say that the win 1 is a bad system. It is a great system if you know your way around the win 1's faults.
For me, it was fine. But it got wayyyy too hot after an hour of gameplay. I recommend investing in the win 2 to play games like halo because that system handles it a lot better. And it would have to be the direct pc port or off of steam. Games made for a pc.
1.Can I ask how much is gpd win 1? Gpd win 2 is too expensive for me so I plan to buy gpd win 1. 2.does gpd win 1 really can play any xbox 360, ps2 games when you insert the games inside gpd win 1? 3.do you have to adjust yourself or gpd win 1 adjust for you for the best graphics? Thank you very much.
I got mine for about $230 bucks on ebay. I got lucky in an auction. They should be cheaper now, but last time I saw it was around 400 to 500 bucks. This thing can handle 360 games if you tweak it a bit, but really you shouldn't because it gets unbelievably hot when you emulate playstation 2 or game cube games. If you want those games on the go, get a galaxy s10 or I think s8s can handle emulation good, but don't take my word. Watch videos of people emulating it. I love the gpd, but ultimately if you want to play 360 games or ps2 games in comfort, get a gaming laptop. It's worth getting it. I also have a predator helios 300. It was painfully expensive when I bought it, but totally worth it. I use it for pretty much everything I do. That thing could handle 360 games easily. You can't put it in your pocket though. Lol And OH! You have to constantly adjust the gpd settings. I find myself sacrificing graphics for gameplay. I have to always set everything low when I am playing steam games. I do not think it is worth getting when it comes to playing new cutting edge games, buuuut it's totally worth it for retro games as far up as the dreamcast.
@@selinao.975 Cool. It didn't work too well when I tried it. I gave up quickly because I didn't see the point since I have a 3ds. But why run 3ds games on it? Just buy and hack a 3ds ya?

Thanks man. Playing shenmue on this thing is super fun. I am almost done with the game. I am trying to make shenmue 2 a iso
Someone accepted to sell one to me for 200€ and im picking it up this week. Im so excited
I have one. I actually run Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and rocks compared to performance on Windows. Crazy fast and Steam rocks in it.

80c is normal temps. 95 is when id really be worrying
I wish it wouldn't get that hot.
It might as well be a beefy Nintendo DS. It looks sick too, I really want one! Also, great review dude!
Thanks! Yeah. I think it's well worth it. There are lots of things to do on it!
You won't regret it. Fun little system.
You need more like on this video

maybe a usb fan will help cool it down
Good review. Would you not like a GPD Pocket o GPD Micro PC more?
It may depend on how the heat is on those devices, but I prefer the gpd win 1 over them just because it has a built-in controller for gaming.

phoenix , around the 6:40 mark you had a mugen running, where did you get that specific one from? was it a personal build or a pre built?
I believe it's one he's been working on for a while. I think it started as another form though.

Is it one or 2?

Please, do a yuzu test I WANT SWITCH
I do not recommend that emulator on the win 1 at all. Buy a switch instead of the win 1 if you want to play switch games. It's a cheaper investment.
