Like our friend Keith Warren...if you take the time for a proper kill shot you'll have no problem. Air guns are great. Cheap as chips to practice with and quiet enough for a full days hunting...without scaring potential game out of the area. Thanks for the great vid. Liked and subscribed.

    I love to hunt, but never enjoyed the twitching. I know they're quite dead immediately, but .17HMR or 22-250 wrecks the brain so much there is no twitching. That said, nice shots - air rifle kills are always impressive.

    • @DonnieJLCarson
      @DonnieJLCarson Před 5 lety +4

      Chelsea Threlfall I fully understand where you’re coming from. Air rifles are enough to take a deer with 20fpe to the brain, but no one should ever do it unless it’s a shtf scenario and desperate to feed their family. 22-250 is a highly accurate round. CCI velocitors make great hunting rounds in 22lr as well.

    • @somescams
      @somescams Před 4 lety +3

      It's why it's illegal to hunt with air rifles in Norway, if you're gonna kill, do it fast

    • @shepproudfoot3484
      @shepproudfoot3484 Před 4 lety +2

      Chelsea Threlfall we raise our own 350-400 lbs Yorkshire pigs for meat. When it’s time for slaughter I use a 20 gauge slug 12-24 inches from skull drawing a x from the eyes to the ears aiming center. The pigs still twitch even after severing the main artery in the neck. It’s nerves traveling from the brain to extremities which causes the twitching.

    • @Snatchedez
      @Snatchedez Před 4 lety +1

      Shep Proudfoot that’s a bit over kill lol just use a 22lr

    • @whatabouttheearth
      @whatabouttheearth Před 2 lety +4

      Is that twitch just post mortem movement? Certain shots with larger rounds may prevent that because severing the cerebellum disconnects the bodies nervous system to the residual energy left in the brain which may prevent that, however if you've ever ripped a chickens head off you'd think otherwise, they carry on like they never even needed the damn thing.

    Many people do not understand that it’s all hype when they say you need high fpe for wild game like pig and deer. A 20fpe 22cal air rifle would drop a deer with a brain shot. In a shtf scenario air rifles are a excellent hunting tool. It’s all about shot placement! Find the most accurate pellet, learn how to hold your air rifle and you’ll have lots of success!
