- This 1996 Toyota Camry 3.0 V6 LE (leather package) has 160,000 miles and is having the rack and pinion worked on. I wanted to make a video of it while I had the chance. Even though it was dark I made the video anyways. Let me know what you think I should add to help improve my videos. Thanks.

People need to realize that the 90's Camrys, including the 1995, are the vehicles the Toyota Motor Corporation built its reputation on. They are exceedingly high quality vehicles with strong components throughout the car.
People have been asking about the timing belts. Both the 4 cylinder and V6 are non-interference engines. So if the timing belt breaks, it's only inconvenience - nothing more. They are most likely to break at low engine speed, e.g at idle, rather than highway speed where they are under less load. I have personally just run mine unit they break, knowing full well it could leave me stranded. At the point of belt replacement, you may want to replace the water pump and maybe idler wheel too depending on overall mileage. A good belt may break at around the 150k miles point so long as there is no oil contamination on the belt. Other advice, is to run synthetic oil, and change the oil before 6000k miles. They run a little hot on the head temperature, so the oil gets exposed to high-ish temperatures causing some degradation. Both 4 and V6 are great engines, that last forever with basic maintenance.
Thank you man just bought a v6 1996 with 136k miles on it. My dad keeps telling me to change the belt . Do you know why when I come to a complete stop my brake pedals vibrates a little?
If you can find one with the Toyota VIP RS3000 remote keyless alarm system installed, then you've got a gem! Those systems were rare as f***k in this generation of Camry.
I got a 96 Camry. It burns a lot of oil, I have to constantly add oil to it. But it runs good and is reliable
How many miles
I got a 95 V6. Very solid strong running car
They are great cars and super reliable. Gotta give it up to the 90's Toyota's.
They only problem with 95 are the cables there go to the coils After 96 the use a different system
How much is it to fill up the tank???
I have one of these with a 5s-fe 4 cylinder and 227k miles. Her body’s pretty beat, but she’s still running like new
These cars will go forever even when you beat them up. Good to hear yours is still running strong
you can say that again. the thing's been through countless owners, was in a hail storm, and was a $600 craigslist car. the only mechanical issue I've had is the struts are wearing out. I replaced the rear ones, but now the front's starting to get bouncy
Body parts are cheap. Get it fixed and repainted.
What color is that?
Just bought my 96 Camry for $1700 only 168k miles. Was it worth it? Be completely honest
Not too bad I’d say 1400 1500
How much is this?
you can get them for under $2k. great cars too
I'm going to buy one like this in red
Only 122k miles. Going to be my first car. How much is it to fill it up?
it's a great car. with gas prices soaring and varying from state to state, I'm not certain how much it will be to fill the car up
how much?
Ah Dada how much what?
Im possibly buying a 96 toy camry with 155k miles for 1400. Is it worth it or not?? Be honest.
100% worth it if its the 4 cylinder...my 96 has 313k miles and it runs like a absolute champ
@@joshuadougall7693 it bought it with a few issues though =(
@@Brother-Moe is it the 4 cylinder?
@@joshuadougall7693 yes it is. 4 cyl. 96 toyota camry.
@@joshuadougall7693 my buddy said the previous owners when fixing the timing belt, forgot or didn't replace a "tooth" with it. Not sure exactly what that means. It needed spark plugs and a ignition distributor. But check engine light still is on..
