      I am not at all positive, but I think I remember that these Browning Automatic Shotguns was made in China by 1972. My dad bought a Browning Sweet Sixteen in 1969 as a Christmas present for me and I think he said that it was one of the last ones made in Belgium. How could I check this fact??

    My dad handed me down his 1956 Belgium browning light twelve. I’m 64 and dad bought it the year I was born. It’s all original with a pollychoke on it. Skeet bird rabbit deer we have done it all with our browning and after over a thousand rounds not a single issue with it. I’m now handing it down to my 30 year old son who has been shooting and cleaning it since he was 16. Somethings in life are priceless. Be safe healthy and have a nice day 🇺🇸

    The first shotgun I ever shot was a Browning A5 when I was 14 years old, back then we could still have auto-loading shotguns with a 5 shot magazine capacity here in the UK. I watch you pick up a handful of 12 gauge slugs or 9 x 19 pistol rounds and I wonder if you realise that if I did the same thing here I would be going to prison! You must fight every step of the way to preserve your freedom to own firearms, if you waiver in the slightest then one day you will end up like us.

The liberals hear are trying with the same methods. Cheat steal and lie. There going to have a hard time taking guns away hear because america is armed to the teeth and we ain't going for gun control. But imagration of non cristians is a huge problem for our country. • @markr8755
    @markr8755 Před 4 lety +9

    Years ago I had a nice Browning A5 and let it go. A friend called me said his dad passed and while he was cleaning out the house he found a shotgun and wanted me to get rid of it. My friend had a record and could not own a firearm. What was funny to us is that we knew his dad did not like pretty much any weapon so the shotgun was a huge surprise to us. His dad was dentist and we think he got it in lieu of payment for work done. For his generation this was not uncommon. When I went to pick it up, at that time, I knew little to nothing about shotguns except how to use one. So I had to first find out what this shotgun was and what it was worth to get my friend the most I could.
    While doing the research on it I was able to determine it was a excellent condition 1954 Browning A5 semi-automatic light weight. The price was all over the place so I took it to a few dealers I knew that would give me an honest value knowing I had no plans of selling to a dealer. After talking to several, they all agreed that not only was in in excellent condition but it had never been fired. I was told that I should list it in an online auction because I would get the best price versus trying to sell it locally or at a show because Browning collectors are very competitive online but jerks in person. They will bid to win but at a show they will beat you up over the price. Never was a truer statement made.
    I did some local shows and every clown that came to my table tried telling me what was wrong, the condition issues, and that it was only worth $600. My friend would have been good with that but only because he offered to sell it to me for much, much less but I wanted to help him out and get the best price for him. I finally sold it online for $1300.
    I look back now and wish I would have paid him his asking price and kept it. I probably would not have ever fired it because it looked so beautiful for being 60 years old (at that time) and looked so good hanging on my wall with the rest of my collection.

    One of the finest auto loading shotguns I have ever shot! I inherited mine from Dad. A 16ga (pre 57) that Dad used in the 50s as a plank owner of Ducks Unlimited. I’ve taught many young shooters skeet with this gun and I can regularly get 100 clays out of 100 with it. I’ve always said that with this gun a blind man could shoot skeet and do well! I also have the original manufacturer’s manual with it. Pure joy to shoot in 16ga with a light recoil and very effective.

    Every time I see an old “hump back” Browning, reminds me of my Grandfather. He had an old Ranger, sold by Sears and Roebuck. This was in the 70’s and the gun was old even then. Had to be made in the late 30’ or early 40’s. He always told me that he paid $35 for the shotgun. It had an old screw down “poly choke” on it, kicked like a mule (or at least at 11-12 years old) I thought it did. He was incredibly talented with that firearm. Grew up in a time where one shot was one kill. I’m talking about for something to eat. We go shoot 300 rounds at the range and worry about when the next order of ammo will arrive. Lol. Great memories. Thanks Hickok

    Testament to the power of a 12 gauge slug: one of your first five shots you shot the ram. The slug hit the ram in the front foot and it took it right down! As you know the lower you hit on the target the more power it takes to drop it. Impressive.

    Sir that is my personal favorite slug gun mine sports a receiver sight, and really is a true classic, course it should be as its another John Browning design. I need to use mine to put down a big wild boar in the future and my favorite slug is the RWS BRENNEKE Classic 1 1/8 ounce 2.75". Remember the old Herters catalogues back in the 60's. I recall an advertisement in that yearly catalogue as a kid that THE BRENNEKE SLUG WAS PROVEN IN AFRICA AGAINST DANGEROUS GAME INCLUDING ELEPHANT. Well as 12 year old that intrigued me and of course today I realize it would lack the requisite penetration.I feel this could be effective on soft skin dangerous animals like African lion and leopard, in fact often on leopard 00 or 000 buckshot is used to follow them up in heavy cover. Great review of a true American Classic autoloader.

    It is a light weight shot gun to hunt anything when you put a buck special barrel on it then you use it to shoot slugs. You change the barrel for what ever you want to hunt. Been shooting one for60 years

    Is it just me, or is the video quality of this review very clear? The up close shots of the checkering and receiver are very crisp.

    My grandpa had one of these I just found and decided to try out. For a 16 gauge it kicks worse than any 12 gauge I’ve ever shot. Absolutely needs a butt pad.

      My dad had his grandfather's 12 gauge Remington shotgun. Steel butt plate. I got to shoot it rabbit and squirrel hunting at 11 years old. I shot at least 10 times that day. My neck was stiff for a day and my dad noticed. Asked if I wanted go shooting again. I said sure, can we go tomorrow.
