Do you know how sometimes you feel like you completely forgot how to sing? I’ve been singing for a very long time and this morning I was just kind of at wits end with how my voice is feeling. I googled something really specific, and this came up. This didn’t necessarily have anything to do with what I googled but I was like let’s try this let’s see what it’s like. And I feel great thank you so much. This is going to be a lovely start to my day.
Ahhh, so glad to hear it. Also, very curious what random search caused this to pop up! =)
I sing at church on Sunday mornings and I use this every single time! ❤ thank you!
Great!
I suffer with acid reflux I’m 52 and I never thought I could get my range back but with your warmups daily I can finally hit all the notes in this video comfortably. Thank you so much!
I'm so glad to hear you're doing well! =)
You're not alone! Same age, same acid reflux! I was never a singer but notice myself clearing my throat every morning. Just started this today, but it will be part of my morning routine!
I have GERD, which has damaged my vocal chords I used to be a suprano now I’m an Alto :(
Me too! Same age
Morning shower warmup when I need to sing early 😂❤
Excellent =)
Got it! I did a quick search for morning vocal warm-ups to deal with feeling the need to clear my throat every morning. I'm set! This is part of my new morning routine!
So glad to hear it!
I’m recovering from a stroke and your warmups are helping pe get my voice back!

These exercises have really helped me with warming up to rehearse my choral music at home and in group rehearsal and performance. Thanks very much. I also recommended your gentle warm up exercise videos to other chorus members, a few of whom have also been utilizing these videos and found them to be very helpful.
Bronx singer
I'm so glad! Thanks =)
My new morning routine!
Excellent =)
Thank you, Kathleen! I’m connecting my yoga breath, with my singing breath, and your relaxation exercises while singing and I’m finding a new voice. More resonant, clear, better support, less tension! It’s a practice but I’m very grateful for your skill and support! Hope your day is the best ever!😎🥰🙏🎶

Glad to hear it!
I love the way you explain the exercises and don’t talk too much. Really fun and helpful Thankyou
So glad!
It's been years since I've had regular vocal warm ups. With the amount of speaking I do day to day, I felt strained talking after work, singing, and even making goofy voices. This was a great warm up during my commute! Followed with some songs from warm ups in my youth 😊 Thank you for the video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it! Thank you
You're welcome!
You're lovely! Thank you for these lessons!

I have allergies that give me post-nasal drip and those a congested throat and these warmups are great for being gentle on my throat but still getting me ready to sing. Especially when I need to do something real high up like Memory. Amazing~
Glad to hear it!
That was really lovely, thank you!
You're very welcome!

Glad you like them!
Great video :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you ma'am. Currently fighting with an auto immun disease which puts lots of tension on my throat aka the muscles around it so its hard figure out how i can sing without tension when there always be some.
But this really helped me relax a little and my voice feels Great today!
Glad to hear it helped a bit!
❤This awesome. Im subscribing right now.
Well done ma'am
Glad you liked it!
This lesson , was absolutely AWESOME. I only stumbled for air and a clear resonance sound on the last exercise, fell short. I developed tightness in my throat. I am not sure if it’s my breathing or not concentrating enough. Singing is a Sigh. I love it and you. I love the vocal challenges you share with us. You’re an amazing inspiration and Instructor. Thank you ever so much for helping me to get better ❤
See you soon
So glad you liked it! If you stayed in your sound/breath until the last exercise, it sounds like you're doing a great job. Keep at it!
that was awesome - i appreciate how gentle it was and the phrases :) thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks so much for doing this! It really helped me warm up this morning.
Awesome =)
I like your warm ups, specially the quick ones with the Ping Pong ball or the counting.
Glad to hear it! =)
Great warm up for the morning! Needed something more gentle at this time of the day. I like the fai ai oh a lot 😊
Glad to hear it! =)
I started this today and I love this thank you so much I am definitely doing everyday.
Great!
Great im french i love your chanel ! God bless you
Glad you're enjoying it!
I'm very grateful to you for this one. This really helped to open my voice and allow me to get way up to the top of my range, although you never push it too high. I was so depressed because my chronic hayfever has left me with some phlegm on my vocal chords that I just can't shift. I'm now transitioning much smoother over my vocal break. I really think the realignment is terribly important now. I will keep this in my warm-up repertoire, and check out your other videos for specific problems. Thank you Kathleen🙏🙏🙏
I'm so glad you've found my videos! Hope they help.
My voice is feelimg refreshed i strain my voice
Glad to hear it!
Oyeyeye🎉🎉🎉🎉

I love this warmup! I'm finding with this warmup, I can hit the higher notes more easily. Being a lead, that's important to me. My chorus also uses this gentle warmup, and I really like it. Thank you so much for posting this. I will be using this warmup from here on out.
Glad you like it! =)
🌞Hi Good Morning from here🌻☀️my fav one was the last one "i sigh to sing" but generally i enjoy this warm ups cz it was gentle & it was good to start using ur vocal chords gently like that in the early morning!
My request is it would be great if u make a video of a lullaby kinda warm up. Like smth smooth like when a mother sings to her baby to sleep. 🙂
And my Q is ; im sure u know the Whitney Houstons song "I have nothing" 💜r the first few lines in smooth head voice or chest voice? 🤔 N its like a lullaby right? 🤔
Thanks! So glad you liked it. I'll think about what a warmup like that would sound like =)
Hi Kathleen!! Thank you for this wonderful warmup! It was so helpful! I had a question, recently I’ve been finding that what I try to hit higher notes it sounds like I need to clear my throat, it’s pretty audible and it prevents me from hitting the high note. Do you have any advice, I’ve never experienced this before. Thanks so much!
Hi there! It's a bit hard to figure out what this is without hearing it, but you'll need to figure out:
-does it go away when do you clear your throat?
-is it always on the same note?
If it's the latter, you'll want to make sure you're using the right register (ie head voice, whistle register) and as well as make sure there's nothing pathologically wrong with your vocals folds (ie injury from coughing/overuse)
Wow that last sigh to sing is hiiiiigh! 😅
🎶🙃🙂
Exercises:

2. 2:27
3. 3:27

When working on scales in our head voice does that help the vocals in our chest voice?
Any work on the voice will strengthen the voice in general, but if there's a particular range/register you'd like to work on, it's important to spend plenty of time there.
I recently found out I have a gap in my vocal chords. And I was doing a play where I scream a lot and I think it damaged my voice... I cant reach high notes anymore, and a minor use of my voice can leave me strained on the next day. What do you recomend as exercices to help it?
This is most definitely something you should work with an ENT and a speech language pathologist on. Once you're cleared to sing, try the Stemple Vocal Function exercises, and anything else listed on this page: www.khansenmusic.com/blog/vocal-warm-ups-for-mornings
I felt like the range was cut in half for me so I repeated each section twice, one lower and second time higher. Is that okay or will I damage my voice? Its not uncomfortable to do but I question the amount the air im pushing
It's totally fine to jump octaves! If something hurts or is making your hoarse, definitely stop. But other than that, it's fine to experiment!
I’d still need it slower than that. 😅
🙂🙃
I can't seem to execute the lip trills/raspberry warm up. 😢could you help me please?
You can always sing these on a vvv sound or through a straw. That said, I did find some other coaches with lip trill tutorials! See if this one works for you. czcams.com/video/fwNPp-RS4IY/video.html
@@VocalWarmupsWithKathleen A straw!? Ok, thank you so much 🙂
After a really long time (like two weeks) of not singing, my voice struggles to sing again and to find my unique voice. Why is that?
It only takes a couple days for muscles to lose strength and coordination! Keep at it.
can male singers use this?
You bet! Just sing in whichever octave is comfortable.
Trivia: Many people who think they have asthma actually have vocal chord dysfunction (vcd). This is common among athletes and is largely misdiagnosed. Also, sometimes asthma and vcd go together. I was referred to an ear, nose and throat specialist who also referred me to a speech language pathologist. I'm making exercises like these part of my morning routine! Have a great day!
I hope you're doing well! Thanks for watching and singing.
@@VocalWarmupsWithKathleen thanks so much for the reply! You’re now part of my morning routine!

Why am I not able to hold the bubble?
A lot of people find it challenging! You might consider holding the edges of your mouth with your fingers...but it's all about the right balance of airflow vs tension/relaxation of the mouth. Keep at it!
@@VocalWarmupsWithKathleen thank you!
