I always start with ND filters. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Hey Jack, thanks for all of the suggestions on the Avata 2. I'm getting, or got, most of those things for my Avata 2. I really am looking forward to trying the ND filters for better videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas to make the Avata 2 a better experience.
Thanks for watching.
Hi. On Ken Dobo's Rib riders I added some double sided tape to give them that extra grip to help keep them on. Never know you hit something wrong and knocked off one side of the rib riders and into the water they go. I bought 2 sets and they are pretty sweet! The Yellow ones I received look pretty green, so I had my left side using the Red and other side green/yellow ducts. (The Rib Riders look good on my Avata 2!)
At some point I will get the ND filters and thanks for the video!
i have been using team group high speed sdcards in my dji drones for years. the avata 2 is no exception. they work perfectly fine.
It matters how you are recording. None of the other drones require it, yet.
@@HalfChrome i record at 4k60 with no issues. TEAMGROUP GO Card 128GB x 2 Pack Micro SDXC UHS-I U3 V30 4K for GoPro & Action Cameras High Speed Flash Memory Card
That is a cool Saturday!!
Thanks for good content Jack!
Thanks for the video! I bought an Air 3 for my business first and got the Avata 2 yesterday. Had no idea that you could use the goggles and remote interchangeably. Does the head tracking work as well?
Yes.
How to fly the DJI Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro FPV with the DJI Goggles 3
czcams.com/video/DrvWGTnVetE/video.html
How do you clean the camera lens and uv filter from fingerprints/dust ? Micro fiber cloth and air?
Yes
Hey Jack thanks for another informative video. I don't even have the Avata 2 yet but I do have and love my DJI drones I do have. I know I ask every time lately but, is the Specta Mini videos coming soon? I have been excited. I know it looks like Contigo is a company that bought a couple of DJI's "recipes/designs" if you will for a couple consumer drones and Anzu Robotics has made a green "Mavic 3 E" for enterprise.
I’m waiting on Specta. Was supposed to be released late April. Hopefully soon.
I would like to buy 1 all purpose filter to protect my Avata 2 camera. On the Amazon link provided there is a UV filter and a variety of ND filters (if varying levels). What is best?
I can't invest in both UV and ND filters, so if I just buy 1 filter with the purpose of being all purpose in most daylight and protecting my camera, what do you recommend?
UV is great for protection. ND8 for motion blur.
What are your thoughts on the aluminum, screw on gimbal guard? I had one on my Avata 1.
The gimbal guard is fine. No need to change it
Whats the max sd card? I have a super fast samsung pro ultimate but its like 256gb
256gigs I think in the drone. Idk about the goggles
Is the air 3 hard to fly Mr
Jack and do I need a license for all the ones you mentioned sir sorry to bother you I'm new to drones sir and your video cane across my feed, loved your work sir and thank you for your content have a great day Mr jack
You only need a license to to commercial work. The air 3 is easy to fly.
@HalfChrome thank you sir, alot sir have a great rest of your day what ever time you may get this sir
Awesome tips.. One question.. Does the gimbal cover fit when the uv/nd filter is mounted on the lens?
Best regards Pierre
Yes. You don’t have to remove it.
Did I hear you correctly when you said the DJI motion controller can be used with the specta? Or did you mean the DJI air 3?
Air 3. Not specta
@@HalfChromethanks for clarifying that.
I disagree with number 2 for about 99% of the people buying the avata 1 or 2. Manual mode was put behind a 200 dollar paywall and multiple settings for a reason. Too many beginners buying the rc controller and destroying their drones. Because some youtubers insist falsely that Manual is required to be a good drone pilot. My suggestion is buy an actual durable RTF kit to leatn Manual. Then decide if the avata in manual is something you wsnt to attempt. I understand professional pilots getting the rc controller because thats what they know and are used to.
I promise you DJI was not thinking about the customer braking the the drone when pricing up the Controller. 😂 but the motion controller is good limited but still good
And I also agree you are going to destroy your drone.
I got the manual controller and am training myself with lift off - only a few hours in and am thinking ‘how the f*** do people do this??!!!’ 😂 😂 😂 I’m sure something will click and I’ll be fine, but, yeh - not a good idea to bundle that controller with it! The motion controller is the perfect intro and then if people wanna ‘level up’ they need to invest and in doing so are likely to research first (unless they are rich idiots 😂)
@amoktimeflies lots of practice
@@amoktimeflies fuck lift off is fucking hard lol
Can the avata 2 stop midair and stand still at will?
Yes
1:14 they dont add the rc 2 or 3 for the exact reasons i stated below. They arent ever goung to for the reasons i stated below
how to delete the message " aircraft warning zone fly with caution" all time on screen

@@HalfChrome hahahhah
The accessory you missed…a little device, 8grams or so, which can be attached to the bottom of the drone. If within 300 feet of a person with a cellphone and app searching for it, it will make noise and start flashing a light. A great way to help find a lost drone…I can’t remember the name of it, but if you can find one to suggest to your followers here, I think more people will find their “lost” drones!
I’d love to hear more. Let me know if you remember.
@@HalfChrome It’s called Pebblebee Clip Gen 2. It’s a little like an Apple Tag and uses bluetooth. If you know approximately where you lost contact with the drone, and can get within 300 feet of it, the hand held device emits a bluetooth signal that the device attached to the drone “hears” then it begins to beep loudly with a bright flashing light. It’s very light as I said, but you will still lose a small amount of range. I think it’s a good idea.
@PhilTParker I will check it out.
Dustin Dunnill uses the Pebblebee on his Avata 2 long range review video where he ran out of battery.
Im in an avata Facebook group that is full of i tried manual and destroyed my avata 2. Its not durable. Its not in any way repairable or even upgradeable. I miss a gap, and its dji care refresh. The avata 2 serms like a downgrade to me. Besides the 04 air unit
The Facebook page is full of noobs that have been flying manual for a few weeks, they’d break anything! I’ve got both 1 and 2 and I can guarantee if you had both you’d be flying the 2 more
1. Fly More is the way to go.
2. Controller... The FPV RC2 may not work... just saying. We'll see.
3. SD cards- I've been using the Samsung Pro Ultimates without issue and the Kinston Canvas V90 cards- super expensive but can't be beat fir read/ write speeds. You can't go wrong with the recommended cards from DJI, of course.
4. UV Filter- I just received the K And F filter kit which comes with a UV filter. I totally agree that it's a good idea to protect the lense when you're not using an ND.
5. Ribbed Riders- strangely enough I haven't received mine yet... ahem... AHEM!!! Hahaha!
6. ND Filters- we could have included this with number 4. I have to suggest going with K and F or some other filter company. The DJI filters use great glass but the retainer is weak and they can fall off. Ask me how I know...
7. Strobe Light- Firehouse is hands down the best I've ever used. I'd like to see USB C though. The new version flashes different colors and has a remote control but still uses micro usb... ugh.
8. Landing Pad- landing loads are for n00bs! Hahaha! Hand catching is where is at. Especially with this drone. Super easy.
9. Part 107- yea I guess...
10. Second Drone- the Air 3 is a solid choice. Especially since it works with the Goggles 3 and Motion 3 from the Avata 2. You can even use it with the Goggles 3 and your standard controller. I don't think the Specta Air will ever work with the Goggles 3 but I could be wrong.
I’m confused. You seem to be agreeing with me.
@@HalfChrome Nah, you pre- agreed with me... Hahaha!
@londenard lol.
Not Metar it's ME Tar. Just an FYI from a former weather guy aviator
Yes. Meteorological Aerodrome Report. I know. Seems wrong.
Those ribbed rider does not work, I had them in my Avata 1 and I bumped into a tree and it came of breaking 2 props, they look good but not good on a high impact
Ribbed riders are exactly covering up all 4 antennas that this drone has. Someone should check if they affect range / signal strength.
Best DJI bag!
Agreed
A landing pad is not neccessary, as the Avata 2 is so easy to start or to land on your palm. I always do it that way.
I do not advise hand catching.
@@HalfChrome Have you tried it? For sure not in manual mode, but when hovering in N mode just place your hand below, pull throttle down and the Avata 2 will set itself onto your flat palm without any risk for your fingers. Same for takeoff in N mode, switch to manual mode later.
@CharlyDuesentrieb yes, I have. I have also sliced a finger due to a chance occurrence with my Air 2S. Hand catching isn’t the safest option.
@@HalfChrome The Avata 2 is much easier landing on your palm compared to the Mavic series. Its ducts prevent contacts between props and fingers. When landing my old Mavic Pro or Mini 4 Pro, I am using a different method. E.g for the Mini 4 Pro I am grabbing it near the battery tabs with thumb and index finger from the rear side and then pull down the throttle stick to stop the motors. I would not land Mavics on my flat palm as many do and also fear of my fingers. I have quite bad eyes and am especially cautious, but since years there was not a single issue with my method, even in strong wind.
@CharlyDuesentrieb I still don’t recommend it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤
Like previous dji bags, Dji avata 2 bag still very thin, wont safe your fpv n equipment from hard bump.
The UV filter isn't going to do much like with regular cameras. There were a good number of tests done in the back of the day with additional filters causing more damage than the naked lens. And of course digital doesn't really benefit from a UV filter in general. Those guards aren't going to do much if anything and are just bad design. All you're doing is putting another layer over some of the antennas which are in the guards. TPU isn't RF transparent.
You’re the only person who has complained about the bumpers/antennas,reception is identical.
As far as a UV filter not doing much to protect the lens of the O4 if it takes a tumble then clearly you’re on a different planet and talk of it actually damaging the lens is crazy,if it’s built to fit then clearly it’s not going to damage it.
You sound like a tin hat wearing conspiracy theorist to be honest
@@palaHD I didn’t complain. It’s just a fact that TPU isn’t transparent and can affect the signal. Painless360 has a video showing TPU affecting RF.
UV filters don’t help on digital sensors. The glass and mounts tend to be more fragile than the lens they are on. They aren’t built to protect. So when it a hit is taken the filter being damaged can damage the lens itself.
And I don’t think you understand what a conspiracy is.
