No Haaland can't go searching for the ball in Pep's system, it calls for discipline and staying in your zone.
Pep himself said he asked him not to do it, just play his role and the ball will come. Looks like itâs working out well so far
Saw an interesting short the other day of thiery Henry saying pep had the ump and subbed him for going out of position to score at Barca, halland knows his job is to finish, de bruyne & co will create.

you didnt listen very well to the pundits speak
It's so weird for me to see my country suddenly being in possession of maybe the best striker at the moment. All we usually grow are vikings with skiis on their feet.
Your neighbours had an alright player too, some vikings are pretty good at trading skiis for boots!

Haaland is definitely not selfish, all he care is for goals to be scored, whether it be him or someone else. He wants to win. You just have to look at his games in Dortmund and he was involved in link up play all the time
Did you not watch the full video and yes he is selfish this season. I love it because he will get more goals like that.
@@Akkarsollum I did hence the commentâŠheâs not selfish, just last game he was involved in another build up play to a goal

shearer says that about all top strikers, he says he was. he's complementing haaland and city. besides i think alan shearer is a pretty good judge of what it takes to be a top goalscorer
That's what selfish means, doing what is best for you. Selfihsness requires you to take into account other people so it''s a win-win material or non-material (win-lose turns into a lose-lose in the long run, so is not selfish.) People don't like that because they think it's moral to suffer for someone elses' gain (selflessness).
A strikers job is to kick it in the goal. Not to pass it to the centre back or build up play.
If a striker is scoring then he is doing his job perfectly it's as simple as that
Facts, that is the role of a False 9 not a Striker.
Facts and give haaland a few years with pep. He will become an all round top striker
Kane can be a number 10 at times, he's versatile. Perhaps that is why City only pursued him halfheartedly. Haaland is just a pure goal scoring machine. He's happy with having only 2 touches in a game if it means he's scored 2 goals. He is the icing on City's cake.

Haaland respects his teammates to deliver the ball to the better position of them in the game. Then all the teammates respect him and send the ball to him to score when he was in the right position. That is team work and that is how Manchester unit will win the League this year.
It could be compared with PGS Mbappe, he also tried by himself whatever he was in good position or his teammates were in good position. So that made Messi sometimes gave up.
Pep always made a good choice

You're right but Mbappe isn't liked by his team mates. It's just a natural reaction. His training is on max and his attitude is right. It comes out sometimes like arrogant or selfish but he expects more love from his team mates. Let's remember this guy is from a humble background. He even gave up pens although he should be the taker according to his contract. I don't think Haaland can do the same. Plus Haaland's interviews speak for themselves
Haaland is the most effective striker I have ever seen
Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo even had a better ratio in their prime. In 2012/13, Messi scored around 90 goals in 50 matches. 50 goals in LaLiga, in that particular alone.
.
But yeah, he's incredible. Like a force of nature. As a Dortmund supporter I was happy and honored that we got to see him play at our club.
I think he'll definitely is going to have a great career. His Champions League are incredible. He already was top-scorer in 2021, with Dortmund. Now he's probably going to win the trophy, if Guardiola doesn't mess up again.
Messi and Ronaldo donât strike me as central strikes. Yes they are who they are , but hallaaand is a real striker, real goal scorer .. like van nistelrooy⊠Itâs awesome to see.. he can go without touching the ball all game and one chance and strikes..
City are the real deal now. Sublime one touch footballers all over the field and an assassin up front.
Pep is in heaven every time Haaland hits the back of the net. Heâs found the Holy Grail.
"Selfish and arrogant" makes no sense to me. Haaland is happy for teammates to score, and he will supply the final pass himself if the opportunity arises. Is Shearer already jealous of Haaland?
haaland partially had to create to score. his teammates pretty much tried for every other alternative except him
Haaland isn't a selfish player. What are people watching to think this? Mbappe is selfish, Ronaldo is selfish, but Haaland isn't.
@@andrewrobertsmith7367 100% spot on!
@@MCFCTheMadHatter, Sometimes I just don't think people understand football.
The position and style of football Mbappe plays, gives him so much opportunity to assist & he rarely does. Haaland is a different type of forward who gives and goes and doesn't like or need to keep hold of the ball, so the reason he doesn't have a good assist tally is due to the same reason forwards like Lineker didn't (This isn't selfish). They get into space and do their job. If the situation arises where the better option is a pass, then Haaland invariably passes. Too many people only looking at stats.
@@andrewrobertsmith7367 Spot on mate. He's already done several times this year so far. One in particular I remember was at Villa where he had 2 CBs on him in the box with the ball at his feet and he could've shot - maybe he would've made, maybe not - but instead of shooting like many strikers would've (especially Mbappe), he saw that KDB was in a better position and so fended the CBs off and did a quick flick to KDB. Unfortunately, KDB shot slightly wide. Or even the assist to Gundo v Bournemouth. A lot of strikers would've tried to charge forward and make something of it. Haaland did just like you said, what's best for the team. Walker needs to learn that (Villa game. Still can't believe he didn't square to an open Haaland. SMH)

Haalandâs game is based on finding space and then letting the ball finding him. Watch his movement - itâs what sets him apart. It also explains why he gets a relatively small number of touches.
Not many striker can thrive in city system..but haaland is special.
20 shots 14 goals , this guy is ridiculous
You can hear some of his jealousy leaking out when he called him arrogant đ€ also he said any half decent Centre Forward could score more than 20 goals in that Man City side, stressing the word Half Decent, yet how come Jesus was not able to do that least season, haaland has been scoring goals left right and centre for every club he has been at so far, he is a quality player in a quality Man City side.

Haaland didnt have a particularly good match today but he still got a goal.
I've said this after every game lmao. He can have like 7 touches and cone away with a hatrick.
He contributed towards the third goal, a goal and great hold up play to pass to de bruyne who can ping a ball into the box. Heâs there to provide goals not build up the play

To be honest, Dortmund was better at using Haaland and his strengths. He scored so many different types of goals in Dortmund. I hope City will use him more to his strength going forward. If it was any other forward I am not sure they would have scored half of Haalands goals cause its not exactly the dream for a forward to get the ball so few times as Haaland does at City. Still he has scored 11 goals which is amazing. Even in this game he pointed several times where he wanted the ball to be played through, but he didnt get the ball.

City and Haaland only 7 games in
@@NOORAHMED-wi8hy well as long as he keeps on scoring, then it works. Haaland at Dortmund had less service, and was forced to trace back, or even carried the ball all the way from his own half. That burdened him a lot resulting in injuries.
To use him to his fullest strength it would need a different tactic, it has to be more direct but Pep is building a Man City Team, not a Haaland Team! it would be foolish of him if he changed his tactic for just Haaland and I'm glad he didn't (he used the exact same one as the one when he still had Aguero with a bit of change between a match) and I doubt he will change it except when his team is having a bad day, it might change to be more direct
Yeah true...in dortmund he use his sprint so often.. but not in city.. but the good things is..the way city using haland n how they play maybe can prevent halland from serious injuries...too much running in Dortmund give him muscle injury.. and now he just sit in the box and score.. or use his speed when needed ...

The way he is being praised across the media, they will hound him when he goes through a rough patch. Heâs an amazing player though & I believe he will break all records wrt goalscoring
Haaland was the missing piece to city winning champions league..cheat code
Man City already do a lot to make it easy for a striker but Halaand is making everything look like it isn't even a challenge!
He's been the dream of every club and there was no certainty he'd go to the EPL until he did. Part of me is pissed he's gone to the top team and will make them, well, unbeatable. No, City can lose a game here or there but over the course of the season who is going to hang with them? Pool was the only legitimate threat but Klopp and Pool are struggling and Salah is not on form. City have 8 points on Liverpool and even if Pool wins this next fixture they'll still be 5 points back and clawing points back from City was difficult last season and now with Haaland it could already be over. Crazy to think we could be 1/5 of the way into the season and its already over. On the upside, it is fun watching Haaland and KDB -- boy does City own the center with those guys!
You're right on most of what you've put forward but don't you think we're judging salah too harshly? The guy in GW6 has 3 goals and 3 assists. Perhaps he's a casualty of his own world class forms but we should give him his credit on doing his part. Maybe we should see Liverpool as a whole and if we do, Salah is performing ok. The defense isn't. Plus Mane is having a much terrible season compared to him given they're scoring more goals. Mane has 3 goals and 0 assists yet he has 21 shots and has scored 1 penalty. Perhaps Liverpool were right and we've judged them harshly coz they've faced in form teams
Tbf he went to the team he supported as a boy ll
Pep Guardiola is no fool : he chose the BEST striker in the world for his team ! Haaland said it himself : if he has only five touches and scores 5 goals, thatâs just fine. It has nothing to do with selfishness or arrogance, he is just playing - extremely well - the role of a striker. If he keeps up this pace, and Man City win the Championâs League, he is a hot candidate to win the ballon dâor..
Beast in front
The bottom line is skill...he has it in bucket loads. Some good players are on and off because their skill is not consistant but haaland is so skillful hes always on. Its the top level in any sport that are always on song and there are not many like that. Natural talent and massive amounts of work to produce the best...respect to him.
I think some of the players are jealous of him tbh because he gets the glory and they go unoticed because of what he does. They keep commenting saying he has to do more to help the team but he does his job better than anyone. He's there just for goals. Tracking back will just take him out of goalscoring positions on the pitch. He's similar to Van Nistlerooy with how he goal hangs.
When Erling was irritadet over the camera man/woman today i think its because the media is giving him all the the light and that will hurt him at the end. He wants to be good, but he also thinking what will be bad for the team
That's Pep system and it'll will be good for him if he improves his link up play it'll give him a better chance of winning a Balandor.
