Cancelo's ball in was stunning and the finish from haaland is definitely insane
They were pretty poor and if Stones doesn't smash that ball in game would have gone nowhere and 0-1 final result. Even with Haaland city still seems to struggle to break down these low blocks, especially in the UCL.

Love a player who talks the talk after actually producing. Football has never had any issues with personalities when they are actually performing.
Dortmund did some world class defending today. They had 3 defenders encircling Haaland almost all game and they still managed to attack and even score. Probably one of the strongest defences in all of CL. Haaland and Stones saved City today. The dynamic changed after Alvarez and Foden got on though. Good managing from pep. I think starting those two more is a success formula against really strong defences like Dortmunds.

Bloody hell..I love this guy-what a player-what a personality
this was perfect, everybody knows we can play beautiful football but what we did today is what we needed in a few tough games in the past. The other comebacks this season were great but we ended up scoring almost city like goals. Today we got locked out totally for 90+ minutes. Those goals were just world class and unstoppable, we did not break them down.
Any other goalkeeper would have saved the Stones goal, rather than pull their hand away to let it in.. and Haaland scores another from inside 6ft.. guess it helps being 9 foot tall tho.. luckily for City, they have fallen behind against fairly weak teams so have got back in it.. they won't do that against Liverpool, Bayern PSG or any big clubs.. they are kind of riding their luck, and Haaland is getting mainly tap ins. It will change, the luck won't go on for ever 😄

....actually, I'd consider it a bit of a problem that we haven't managed to play beautiful football yet this season. Yeah, we're more clinical with Haaland.
But our tempo is sporadic, we're way less fluent which makes us worse at controlling the game which makes us lose possession in dangerous situations more often which makes us concede more chances - while at the same time not creating nearly as well as before either.
I'm not saying "it's bc we're playing with Haaland now". It's not. Partially, yes. But we also have a bit of a problem with Rodri being overplayed and losing Zinchenko who was great in finding small pockets and supporting Rodri when he gets boxed in. When Zinchenko didn't play, we had Bernardo dropping deeper - hence the "attacking defender" joke some players made in the "Champions" documentary. But this season Bernardo is used more wide/attacking. So overall Rodri is way more exposed - while also not being in top form bc he's literally playing every game since forever.
We have _a lot_ to work on. We're actually not playing well at all.
We're talking about a team that had Fernandinho+Garcia as CB pairing for a season and only conceded 35 goals in 38 games. We've conceded 8 in 3 this season...
We used to win 2-0 or 2-1 and come out of it thinking: "Wow...we missed 20 chances. How is that possible."
Now we win 2-1...by scoring the only two chances we had all game.
We're getting bailed out by individual class of players' passing and finishing. Our team performances are worse than they have been in the past 5 years. Can only hope this improves. Because when I say that we're getting "bailed out" by individual class....it was still only enough to win 6 out of 10 games. We could have easily drawn this game (Stones' goal was pretty sus) and we would have ended our first 10 games with only 5 wins.

When I watched the game live, the ball went to the wide player (I think it was De Bruyne?) Two Dortmund players shift to cover him, leaving the half-space open and I see John just float in. The ball goes to him, bounces, and I think... "No... No way" and he blasts it. Reminded me of when Vinny scored that banger against Leicester.
