Saying Owen and co could score as many goals in this man city team is jus wrong. Haaland's sheer physical strength and running power is what gets him into many goal scoring positions without breaking a sweat. Owen, shearer along with other strikers needed more agility than strength. Remember the era of 2000s, were a defenders dream. Vidic, Terry, Prime Ramos, Lucio.. were all killers. Don't get me wrong, he's awesome. But his goals aren't overly special. City should not have allowed the last 2 United goals. The game should have ended 6-1. I was frustrated when City took their foot off the pedal and let United sneak in 2 more goals so I can only imagine how Pep is feeling about it given he is a perfectionist.
This complacency is what cost Man City a place in the Champions league final last season. When they were playing against Real Madrid, particularly in the 2nd leg semi final last season, they became complacent thinking the tie was done and we all saw what Real madrid did.
This complacency is what makes Pep angry and I totally understand why. As much as City scored 6 goals against United, allowing united to sneak in 2 more goals after they scored their first was criminal with regards to Pep's standards.

Honestly it's what Ruud etc would have scored plus a little extra. No way any of them get a foot on some of the goals Haaland has scored for City, like the second one yesterday. That is not a chance with most strikers or with most midfielders. It only works with KDB and Haaland on either end. Zlatan could probably have made the stretch, but wouldn't have had the pace to get there, prime CR7 maybe. Few others. It's not as easy as just plopping a striker in there and it's 65 goals per year. If it was, Jesus would have scored 65 last season, wouldn't he? KDB is learning to put more sauce on passes to Haaland, which puts defenders out of reach. As that connection develops, this could become truly deadly.

I've always liked Ian Wright as a player and a talking head but he's selling Haaland way short saying all the other guys on that hat-trick list would be getting the same results if they played on this City side. Not a chance. None of the other guys on that list have all the tools (height, strength, speed, accuracy, instinct etc...) that Haaland has. People go on about how fantastic a signing Gabriel Jesus has been for Arsenal and how amazing he is. Don't forget he used to play for City and was nowhere near doing what Haaland is doing in the very same team.
Look at Ian Wright's face when Kelly Cates says no player in Premier League history has ever scored a hattrick and assisted two goals in the same match. He can't quite understand it. That is more than 30 years of football matches and and it's never been done before. Haaland has played in 8 matches!

Ian Wright should look at Haalands ratio of goals/finishes before saying that any of the top strikers of old would be at the same level if playing for this City team. It isn't just his number of goals that is off the charts, it is how few chances he needs to score that amount. Other strikers have been better at certain aspects of the game and have had the ability to finish in extraordinary ways, but very few if any have been as clinical as Haaland.
