    I worked at Alcatraz (as a historic site, not when it was a prison) for 16 years. There was a previous prisoner who wrote a book and sold it in the bookstore for 20 years, telling how he’d robbed 33 banks and was in Alcatraz for 18 years. People lined up every day with starry eyes to get him to sign their book. After he died we went to the National Archives and were allowed to finally get his record. He had robbed one motel of $13 (using a sawed off shotgun, hence the federal charge) and requested to be sent to Alcatraz as he had a pregnant girlfriend in Sacramento who he hoped would visit him. (She never did.) He was in Alcatraz for 18 months, not 18 years. Guess what went on sale in the bookstore.

    This hurts real victims. Real victims are never believed, understood or heard because of all of these people online who make up stories for sympathy/ money. I know some people who have had really bad circumstances, one is a close friend and theyve dealt with people calling them fake and so on because of people like this guy. This is unfortunate but it's something that is very common on social media.

    On the topic of Service Animals... I know a little about this because of my reading about grocery stores putting up signs allowing Service Animals but banning "therapy" and "emotional support" animals. Based on what I've read, a Service Animal is an animal, usually a dog, that is trained to *perform a specific task.* Seeing eye dogs, for example. There are also diabetic and PTSD dogs, i.e., dogs that can sense when their owner has high blood sugar and do something to signal the owner, or if the owner starts to freak out, the dog will do something to distract the owner and bring them back into reality. There are epilepsy dogs that will bark and attract attention if the owner has a seizure.
    Because of HIPAA, you can't ask someone what their disability is when they have an alleged Service Animal. You CAN, however, ask them what task the dog has been trained to perform. If the dog is not trained to do anything but "emotional support", they are not a legitimate Service Animal.
    There have been cases where a trained service dog has been attacked in a store by someone's pet ("emotional support" dog). That service dog is now too nervous in stores to do their job so the dog had to be retired and go back to being someone's pet. All that time and training down the drain.

    • @KnottyNerd
      @KnottyNerd Před 4 měsíci

      That happened to my service dog. Starting over training a new one. It sucks

    • @vyncentsky8697
      @vyncentsky8697 Před 2 měsíci

      As much as I hate that theres peopel who can get untrained wild animals for ESA or services, we really shpuld have a system check the animal and see if its a legitamate animal to have for services. And if not then they should be fined and have it revoked until they get a real trained animal for services. I've been bit by small rat dogs who were a so called "service animal" that I now do not trust a single one and avoid them like the plague, especially if I have my toddler. If it's a big dog I'm fine walking near them but if it's a small one I will go put of my way to avoid the little rabid animals.
      I also do not like that its "only dogs that can be service animals" because there's so many people who also have cats that work better for them for being a service animal for medical reasons. I had a cat who would alert me whenever I was having a medical issue growing up. cats worked better for me than dogs, I'm also not a fan of dogs since I've had numerous issues with dogs compared to cats. And the whole "cats can't be trained" is a myth, I've trained all of my cats to do various things except alerting to medical problems since she did that on her own. Cats are incredibly intelligent, they are just a "what's in it for me?" Animals so as long as you reward them with cuddles and treats they will be very happy, especially if you are their favorite person. AKA litterally like dogs but it's a cat.
      It would be nice if cats could be support animals as well.

Turns out this isn’t the first time she’s claimed to be pregnant to trap a man - it’s her third time and the amount of crazy court documents makes you genuinely question the woman’s sanity. apparently within the last couple days it's been revealed on her Instagram or something like that that she is "no longer pregnant" 🥴🥴🥴🤣 SHOCKER... been watching the court hearings and it's honestly crazy.
      also the reason she is allowed to do this because everybody has rights under the Constitution and she is allowed due process through the court system just like anybody else so even though WE can see right through the lies and scams (hopefully any judge or jury would too), the court system still has to go through the motions 🤷🏻‍♀️ as soon as we start making parameters and requirements for who's allowed/not allowed to take something to trial in a court of law (requirements that extend beyond a judge's determination of a plaintiff's standing, ofc) we are on a slippery slope.
      and honestly, the best thing to do is to let her go through the process and have everything that happens and gets decided be legally above board and airtight, that way when she loses she can't say that she was denied the chance to prove her case or denied a fair trial or qualified representation. it's same reason that Darrell Brooks was allowed to act as his own attorney during his murder trial, even though he constantly disrupted court, disrespected the judge or raised his voice at her and had to be removed to another room, (legally) delayed proceedings with spurious objections and motions based on sovereign citizen nonsense, and as his own attorney was allowed to question witnesses-some of whom had seen him commit the crime(s) and were traumatized by it, and others who had had loved ones killed in the incident and were still grieving. it was all really hard to watch and I'm sure it was exhausting for the judge and the attorneys and everyone involved, but it had to be gone through and done correctly to prevent him from having grounds for appeal. if that makes sense.
      (if you haven't seen clips from the trial I highly recommend checking it out... he is the guy who ran his SUV through the middle of a Christmas parade, killed and injured people, all after physically assaulting his girlfriend (ex-girlfriend?) earlier that day, and then tried to flee the scene after causing all of that carnage. his defense "strategy" was... truly something to behold. lol. the judge on that case deserves some kind of award for handling it as well as she did.)

I spread the word out on all of my social media, even on TikTok because I've seen how people get help on there. Not a single donation, and she needs it desperately. I thought 19 years for murder was short, Idk if it varies from person to person, but my grandpa was in jail for 35 years for murder (in defense of his brother, allegedly) He was also a Mexican gangster, though, so that might be why he was in for so long.

    I was locked up for three years before i was 18, if ur a juvenile and get sent to the adult program, at least in my state, it shows up on ur adult record, and is not changed. We have whats called dual jurisdiction as well, kids convicted as an adult but sent to the juvenile program as a second chance, usually ur locked up till ur 18 or 21, and if u fuck up the program u are sent to prison, no time served, to serve out ur full sentence. And even in that situation ur charges are on ur permanent adult record. Within the last 20 years its really hard for me to believe u was locked up for more than 5 years for a capital crime or murder charge as a juvi without getting adult prison time, rare, extremely rare.

    Im sorry 20 bucks for a pet in an apartment is so cheap its 400 bucks were i live. Also it is 💯 legal for pet fees so that any damages can be fixed at the end of the lease if they don’t renew and move. The exception is service animals because, normally people with service animals can’t afford to pay 400 to have a pet in their apartment. but a service animal is legally needed for medical reasons (some life saving). I know this because i have a service animal!!

    Edit: but I also love your accent so much! I just think it’s hilarious my brain thinks you’re always calling me Rachel 💀

    Yeah I love that people think when you turn 18 that nobody can see your record absolutely everybody can it's absolutely everywhere you can go in and have that record sealed if you complete a series of classes and pay some fines but still cops are always allowed to see it and you can always look up that there is a juvenile arrest just not what it's for

  • @avirei98
    @avirei98 Před 3 měsíci

    By law there's not supposed to be any charge for that. However, you also have to present proof that your animal is a service and some places can't ask you for proof. But if you want us to waive the fee, you have to prove it. And if you can't prove it, we're just not going to wave the fee. You can't ask someone to waive the fee and not prove that you have a service animal. That's not how that works honey

    Why do people think murder is okay just because that person did something bad? 😭 Like that makes you just as bad. Especially when we have prison and a court even tho ofc sadly often r*pists often don't really get charged :(
    Like it honestly makes me scared that some people justify murder like this 😭 like if it was true I think we can all understand him but it still does make it right
