- Join me for a full access tour of the Koenigsegg factory and new Jesko production line with company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, before an exclusive opportunity to experience the new Jesko Absolut in action.
I first visited the home of Koenigsegg in Angelholm, Sweden approximately a decade ago, at which point the company had produced only around 100 cars from a single original hangar. It's safe to say that in the time since things have changed quite dramatically, but nothing more so than the evolution and new facilities being put into operation at this time. With multiple areas required thanks to the introduction of new models including Jesko and Gemera, it's an exciting time for the hypercar manufacturer.
However, today's focus is the Jesko, and in paticular the first time the Jesko Absolut has been brought out to the unway for testing in its full look. Initially we set off with Christian to discover the assembly process from materials to the engine dyno, via composites and gearbox production, before venturing to the new building that houses the Jesko production line itself.
Next we're over to the runway where the Jesko Absolut awaits, and an opportunity to join Christian on board his latest vehicle to get a feel for it, and the new sound created by the world's fastest revving production car engine. Needless to say, this is just the start, and it's going to be a very exciting journey for the 125 customers of the Koenigsegg Jesko, and the entire team involved in the project.

@@arthshah06 Lamborghini is a super car brand. They don’t innovate like koenigsegg. They make great super cars, but they stick to traditional for their standards where as koenigsegg innovates new technology. Their cars are also much more potent than Lamborghini. Around twice as fast.
@@mattbrawner7888 lol that is just not true at all. Yes the Koenisegg cars are quicker and faster but it's not by a large margin, not even close to twice as fast. You pulled that number straight out of your ass. Top speed is around ~60mph faster and only .2 seconds faster on 0-60
Christian is a visionary. I've always enjoyed listening to him talk about his company's work, including all of the new stuff they're engineering and building. I would love to visit their factory and see how everything is manufactured. Just seeing the work being done on customer's cars to get them assembled would be so cool.
He's so good at being a humble human being, while bragging about the amazing work him and his team have done over the years.
Am I the only one who loves the mechanical elements like the chassis, engine, and suspension, almost more than the actual bodywork

I met Christian at the Geneva motor show in 2018. He the most honest, genuine, hard working guy ive ever met. His passion and knowledge of the cars with an inspiration and something I'll never forgot

@@Shmee150 I'm baffled that, and I mean absolutely no disrespect when I say an independent car maker is producing a product that's not only on a par with the Supercar titans who have been plying their trade since the inspection of the fast car concept (they know who they are) but in my opinion is creating a far superior machine. The thing that gets me is not just the phenomenal speed and power. Example, give me a couple million as a start and I'll guaranty you I'll give you a car that would match the bhp! But I'll also guaranty you that I wouldn't drive it more than 10mph! This glorified DIY mechanic/genius creates machines that behave impeccably across the whole spectrum of what you'd require of a modern day super/hypercar! I remember only a couple decades ago on the rare occasion that I'd see one of the titans latest models in stop start traffic, looks wise granted, gorgeous but if a car could talk "Aaaarrrrr, I don't want to be here, Aaaarrr I'm super uncomfortable! Aaarrrr I just wanna stretch my legs!" And that was with multiple decades of experience and development behind them! This fella pops up out of nowhere and he's giving us these masterpieces! Wow........Just Wow!

I echo your brilliant remarks, this is my first time seeing an interview of Mr.Koenigsegg and am awestruck of his genius and approachability. He is absolutely comparable to past automotive geniuses like Mercedes/Ford/Ferrari etc. I'm a F1 "Tiffossi" and would love to see Christian in Formula 1... also would like to see 1999 Indy 500 champion Kenny Brack demonstrate one of his machines on the tarmac in Sweden that would be grand !!!

When Christian decided to share his first drive in the Absolut prototype, he called Tim. And Tim delivered; he pointed the mike at Christain and let him tell his entire epic tale at his own pace and, to his immense credit; he mostly kept himself in the background. A subtle act of respect and humility which certainly impressed me. I really enjoyed this - Thanks Tim.

Christian is without question one of my favorite people to see on the internet. Seriously. He seems so welcoming and interesting. But most of all he is extremely gracious with his technology. So many companies are quite secretive and don’t seem to offer up as much behind the scenes deeply descriptive detail about what goes into these beautiful cars. I actually use a number of clips of Christian talking about his designs to share with my manufacturing students. Great stuff!! 😎😎

It was quite the oportunity for you and your amazing team to see the factory in person, and the driving experience, that car is ABSOLUTely incredible.

This is the video we have all been waiting for. Christian is by far the most innovative car engineer ever. He does EVERYTHING differently, which I love. Cant wait for the 300 mph attempt with the Jesko Absolut. Seems like we are waiting forever, which shows how hard it is to break that barrier.

Wow!!!! This is amazing! Now I can truly understand the reason these cars come with such a high-end price tag. Christian is a real pioneer. It has to be so cool to tour this facility in person.
Christian just took us through a degree that would require at least 3yrs in class in less than an hour. That Engine is probably at par with a formula one engine if not better. What an experience.
@David's things "toning it down for reliability" will end up in way less than 2000 hp (ignoring the fact that multiplying the displacement doesn't automatically multiply the hp). You would need to reduce the RPM limit by a massive amount and reduce its power output to reduce wear and tear. Not to mention making it street legal which will add a TON on restrictions, making it run on pump gas etc. As a Industrial engineering student in Germany I have no doubt that the Koenigsegg 2L 3 Cylinder TFG with 600hp at 70 kg would outperform the F1 engine. F1 engines weigh around 145kg literally more than double the TFG. Dont get me wrong the F1 engines today are incredible at what they are designed to do, but they would be exceptionally bad in road cars unless you want a engine that last 2 years max. Kinda a apples to oranges comparison tbh.

You actually see how Mercedes is struggling with the AMG Project One. Does not seem to be that easy
@David's things Ofcourse putting 2 engines together would make more power but not exactly 2 times as much. The AMG ones engine is interesting. What worries me is that they (openly) struggled to get it right for a long time now (which is understandable), the probably had to change a lot of things, which would affect the weight for example. But we can just speculate right now. Gotta wait and see maybe they got it running well. Im most concerned for its reliability, wouldn't be surprised if it has a check engine light after 1 year if normal use lol
Bruh, not even close, in peak performance the 1.6l v6 alone produces about 900hp, the most efficient engine in existence
Christian is nothing short of a visionary and seemingly driven to almost single handedly evolve the driving experience. Hearing the man speak you can tell he knows every inch of these machines. Epic video.

Like others say, I could listen to Christian talk for hours. He knows his subject and explains it in a passionate, knowledgeable and friendly way. You really get the feeling he *wants* to talk about it, it’s not just a marketing speech. A true legend in the industry!
Love this brand, big part of that it's because the CEO is really about his car business from a " hands on it " level, not one of those fancy guys that you never see on the ground works.

Christian makes the best and most innovative hyper / mega cars. Truly works of art. Also just seems like a super cool person, insane amount of knowledge. And what an incredible team he has built to bring his visions to life.
It amazes me that Christian is probably super busy making some of the fastest cars of all time and can still remember what the factory looked like and specific details of when Shmee was there last time.

Lol, tf are you talking about? People are getting easier and easier to impress. You can give people bath water and they buy it, you give them a horribly built car which looks good, it sells, you give them a $2 handbag and slap a LV logo on it, and it goes for $20,000.
What the world needs is for these mega rich clever innovative individuals to get together and invent a fuel less engine . Something that runs on air and produces air as a by product.. imagine how much richer these people would become.

@@grahamclayton675 compressed air car has been done, it's really noisy, has terrible range, and overheats when you compress the air and freezes when you release it.
We know what the most efficient way to move a car is: a battery powering an electric motor. 1,700 horsepower from a farting grumbling box containing sequential explosions is cool for a bunch of aging petrol heads who associate the noise with performance, but the engine, and the gearbox, are rapidly becoming irrelevant dinosaurs. All the mass manufacturers can simply hook a motor for each wheel up to their largest battery pack to deliver 1,000+ horsepower.

Koenigsegg is my favorite car company for this very reason. No secrets except for pending patents and distant future ideas. Everything else is shown to the world. Even showing the dirry work of construction and expansion. Zero politics except for emissions which they can pass. Such a cool company.

By far the most technologically advanced cars on the road. CK is a brilliant man who is not afraid to chase his dreams and make them a reality. I love everything about his cars. To me, Koenigsegg is the one brand that deserves the badge of hypercar. The engineering innovation combined with hand crafted production creates not only a bespoke creation, but one that pushes the boundaries of automotive engineering. Bugatti may be next behind it. But this is something else.
I can't wait to see a top speed run on the absolut, hopefully everything falls into place and this takes back and holds the record for years to come

Could listen to CvK all day, incredible intelligence and comes across so well and is clearly an exceptional engineer. Koenigsegg always breaking new boundaries is visionary. Not sure if it's the editing but shmee just doesn't seem interested when CvK goes deep in to the engineering side, as an engineer myself it's awkward to watch because you have a guy so passionate about what he does and just looks like it gets dismissed, unless it's going over shmees head, not sure. The carbon polishing was so cool and interesting.
