This is why I love smaller CZcamsrs and creators, they always put so much work into everything that they do and your music reflects that perfectly! If I had some sort of soundtrack for my life, this would definitely play at some point!

thank you! i've been so glad to discover new small channels doing music in the recent months, and it feels wonderful to be a part of this small hardworking community. i'm still at a stage where accomplishing even the simplest musical actions requires huge amounts of work, hoping that with consistent effort my skill and workflow can gradually let me express what i want to in a fluid way

You never disappoint with your creations. I feel like this would play in the background of a really cosy late-night slice of life anime and I'm all for it

thank you! i can say the same for your work, very professionally done and inspiring to listen to.

Thank you! Although it’s frowned upon to compare two artists, I still have to say you’re much more musically talented than me wwww

nah, don't sell yourself short! you've shown you can create amazing pieces in just a couple of hours - that's undoubtedly a demonstration of skill + experience and i wouldn't be able to do the same.
honestly, broadly speaking, as much as i think improving one's craft is important and noble, skill in music to me is secondary to a healthy practice mindset and the pursuit of expression through the medium. when listening to your work i can already picture a scene in my mind's eye so clearly - if you keep it up i believe any improvements in skill you want to achieve are bound to come naturally!

@@ninevolt I appreciate the kind words, but I have no doubt that you're able to pull off the same level of skill as or even a higher level of skill than me! To me jazz is still a very unfamiliar world, and I envy how good your compositions are and how well you play in your Learning to Play Jazz series. I guess we're both selling ourselves short in that sense ahaha
Listening to your pieces I realise I still have so much to learn. More than a comparison of pure skill, what I meant by musical talent is just as you said, the ability to convey such a vibrant scene in the mind, something (in my opinion) you're able to do much better than me. Talking with you I feel like my views on music matured greatly and my motivation to catch up to such a level in that area grew stronger than before.
Thank you for your beautiful compositions and your conversations with me in the comments section, I hope we can do some kind of collaboration someday!

likewise, i've really enjoyed chatting about music with you! happy that it has helped with motivation, i feel the same. i genuinely have trouble working quickly as the details tend to consume me, but as with most things i'm sure it will improve with experience.
when the time and energy is available, a collab sounds like an amazing idea. i personally need to work out some balance in my life to make opportunities like this possible, but once things have settled i hope we can make this happen!
cheers and enjoy your day or night :)

hahaha love that. i listen to JP artists like Yorushika and ZUTOMAYO nonstop so that's definitely where it came from! do you guys have any recommendations for slice-of-life? i'm not the biggest anime watcher but have always wanted to get into it more.

@@ninevolt horimiya is a good slice of life romcom. though some of my friends said it was boring (i don't). the devil is a part timer is kinda slice of life. it's about a fantasy world devil accidentally opening a portal to modern japan and now he's working a part time job to slowly rise to the top. one of my favorite stories (i've read the light novels as well)

I can definitely hear the influence of the player learning jazz on this piece. That little bit of jazziness, given to the melody makes it feel nostalgic in a warm and enveloping kind of way, like remember the little things your parents did for you that mean the world to you now.
It also reminds me of the kinda vibe slice of life anime gives me as well.

such a thoughtful comment, i really appreciate it! really glad the emotions came across. i will be forever grateful for my parents and all the possibilities they brought me, the more time i spend in this world the more i realize what a precious thing family is.
