Brother Ali checks in from the last shows of 2023. The episode starts with genuine gratitude for the community of the podcast, and ends with bittersweet memories of loved ones no longer with us.
Thank you Ali. This was an incredible listen that delivered to me a powerful message. I first learned of you after listening to all of Eyedea's records, then I saw your "Smile" tribute and just fell into your music starting from the beginning. Your words and passion for Islam, even with me not being Muslim, makes me and actually straight up encouraged me to begin reading the Quran. To a person not believing that they have worth and questions their sense of purpose and longevity, hearing you speak on religion being a structure for which to apply your intellect and check your ego at times, this was very insightful. A large amount of what you shared here was, and I thank you so much for that. Bless you brother.
You do have worth, whether or not that's easy to realize in this narcissistic culture. You don't need religion to tell you so either. Just be a "good" person (notice the similarity to the word God). Ethics is enough to do that. For me, it's become veganism, how we do good for the animals and abandon the barbaric practice of enslaving and consuming them. That may be difficult for you, but is a worthy challenge and practice if you are struggling for another purpose. I'd also say art or music are worthwhile endeavors, but those require a bit more dedication to build up the skills. But I still say to try. Creativity is why we're here IMHO. Let me know if you're looking for inspiration. I've got lots to share
❤ Brother Ali…. So much in this one! Just finish so I’ll start with abuela ❤❤❤❤❤… love the reflections of her. Thanks for giving… Truth, I really do thrive in the sicken of the heart and I love how childish you make it seem when you say but it feels so yummy 😂, every time I’m like it does then the squishing of the lips and realization of I just felt that 🤦♀️… I liked how you explained the 3 areas, may re-listen to decide more stuff. I fall into the spiritual but not religious. And I find myself searching for the code of conduct for life… can you have the Islamic code of conduct without the believing in The religious side? Peace and Love Brother and your fam! ❤
Thanks for the knowledge!
Looking forward to seeing you in St.Petersburg brother!!
Thank you Ali
