  • Our Wandering Samurai begins his journey in this first episode of my Shadows of Brimstone Solo Campaign.
    I did make a few mistakes that I noticed in editing and I tried to correct them as best I could at the end of the video.

    Thank you for making these videos. There is a lack of good content for this game besides a few people playing one mission or so!

    I believe the hydra at the end mutated without regeneration skills too. One of the best Brimstone played through here on CZcams. And I have seen many the last few years. The gameplay on the table was clear and sharp, the dice rolls were good to follow, the rules implemented well while playing and by the way... the miniatures are really well painted. Love it! Thanks you for the good entertainment, lot of success and joy for all your following Brimstone videos. 👈

    Good job. The game is much more difficult with only one hero (but there is less to keep track of).

    Great job on your video and no worries forgetting stuff! There is a lot to remember. I realize I was doing armor wrong based on watching this...thanks!

    Adding the status tokens (clues, wounds, fury, etc) to the screen is a nice touch! I love seeing play-throughs of SoB with painted minis. Have fun!

      Thank you! I design a more video game style HUD in later episodes. Still with all info displayed.

    Ignore the comment about sound in the intro video. Quality is already here.

    At 3.30, the passage doesn't move the party marker up the depth track because it's not a room (I think)

    At 10:25, you shouldn't roll to hold back the darkness, as you just rolled it before (the double ones). The ambus is part of the roll, you shouldn't start a new turn. Good play anyway and nice video!

    Looks like you may have forgotten to use the Ronin's Helmet and Locket abilities during/after the Tentacle fight.

      Yes, I noticed this while editing. Not only was it my first video, but also my first time playing as a Wandering Samurai hero class. I'll be sure to remember the next time! I hope I will at least lol

    This looks like an interesting game. Where do I start?

    • @SoloCampaigns
      @SoloCampaigns  Před 6 lety +2

      There are 2 core sets to choose from, City of the Ancients, which has a frozen alien planet as an Otherworld and Swamps of Death which has a primitive swamp/jungle Otherworld. If "Magic and Swords are more your thing 😉 a 3rd core set, Forbidden Fortress, will be out this winter. Instead of an American Old West setting, Forbidden Fortress is set in Feudal Japan with "Belly of the Beast" as its Otherworld.

    I feel like this game is way harder with just one hero. Is there any actual scaling of monsters?

    • @SoloCampaigns
      @SoloCampaigns  Před 3 lety

      The regular monsters themselves don't scale but the number of ones you face scale based on number of heroes. Some of the larger Epic Threat monsters do scale based on number of heroes in the posse though.

    l have noticed you are not using the Official FAQ and Errata issued by Flying Frog last year.

      In relation to...?

    • @kathyhunter3222

      @@SoloCampaigns l have not played the game yet but thinking of buying it so do not know a lot of the Rules yet. l have read the Rule book and the Official FAQ. The one thing l have noticed is Exploration in the FAQ says you gain 5 XP for looking through Doors/Gates to draw the next Map Card.

    • @SoloCampaigns
      @SoloCampaigns  Před 5 lety

      @@kathyhunter3222 Ahh yes. I do use that rule, I tally all xp during editing most of the time, unless I am close to leveling up. Then I track in real time.
