@@WasItSky honestly I really wish the lore wouldnt give clone units such weirdly specialized purposes. Technically, in an army like the republics, all units should be capable and well trained in the defense of contested worlds. More so its unnecessary. The lore likes to over explain these weird little things we you can easily just say they're an elite unit that marked their armor. Like, no army, especially one as big as the clone army and as spread out, should just have one unit dedicated to laying siege or assaults etc.

Were not experienced in open combat, hence why they were not as effective, besides Thorne, as say the 501st who saw the most combat out of all the Legions...meanwhile Kamino Security was probably the weakest group, considering after the siege what did they do? Hence why Fives made them look like a joke, being an Arc Trooper aside.
They were not experienced like the combat units, however the Courscant Guard/Shock Troopers were better at guerilla fights. Due to being prison guards, local guards, Senate guards. A LOT of crime happens on Courscant especially the lower levels. So while they aren't better than the 501st, 212th etc. against Droids, they do have better adaptability tactics in close quarters. Where the other Legions were mostly on open fields or even in cities fighting Droids, not living beings who are more unpredictable.

It's scene's like this that make me wish we had more episodes that showed the pure carnage and chaos of the clone wars. This episode just seemed more like a raging battlefield than a lot of others in the series. (Hmmmm.... Sharpe's crew as Antarian Rangers? That'd be a cool x-over...)
As to Mariusz' question - to be honest, probably not that different from any other unit that has to play rearguard. No one likes that role because even if the plan is for you to evacuate after, it's one of the most difficult things to do on the battlefield. Some clones would do it in a heartbeat to protect people, others would see it as a waste of military assets for civilian baggage. That said, the fact that Ima-gun-di is standing with them to the end would likely go a long way - it's easy to be bitter about someone leaving you on a suicide mission while they escape. It's a lot harder when they're not only staying behind but are also fully aware of what it means and aren't looking for any glory in it, just doing what they think is right. Going by how his men react, it looks like Keeli and his men more or less bought into the idea of buying the refugees time - plus, if they're going down one way or another, may as well go down swinging.

He knew exactly what the general's plan meant for him and his men but he still agreed wholeheartedly. Without hesitation. While they were raised and indoctrinated to believe that their lives were expendable, and that every single one of them was an acceptable loss if it meant victory for the Republic, that doesn't make their courage any less real. Being taught your life is worth less than everyone else's and still giving it everything you've got to make your last moments matter, takes extraordinary strength. And this was the cruel test that every Clone in the Grand Army of the Republic had to face every time they deployed.

Probably could have bought a few more minutes at least, and possibly taken out a greater number of their units, at least until the tanks advanced. Ima-Gun Di could have also probably done a lot of damage if he forced the droids to follow him into the rocks and tree line, since he would have been able to maneuver around them better before getting surrounded. Awesome scene though, it just seems that given the urgency that they were supposed to be buying time that they should have attempted to hold out a little longer

My problem with that whole plan was why didn't they just put the explosives in the pass hidden on the walls WITHOUT the Gunship, blow it up AS the droids are going through there instead of only taking out 2 droids, evacuated as many Twileks as possible by doing as many trips with the available gunship while having the rest continue on foot as they did and get picked up on the way, and had the clones that stay behind stay hidden and only attack from behind once the droids had passed through the one available pass which would confuse them and not make it easy for them to turn the tanks around in the narrow pass. You'd save the Twileks and probably most of the clones and there would be no need for a last stand. This whole thing, although heroic, was completely unavoidable and could have been worth better on the field of battle. MAN, I SHOULD BE A JEDI GRANDMASTER FOR THAT PLAN!

1: you're forgetting they didn't have many explosives, they needed enough to block the entrance completely.
2: the separatists had control of the planet, it was hard enough getting food in much less an evacuation with a single gunship.
3: they didn't have enough troops or supplies to take on the entire droid army even with an ambush.
4: the tanks wouldn't need to turn around, they had enough battle droids.
Let me remind you, the goal was not to take down the entire droid army. They needed the ship's fuel to make the explosions big enough. With their limited amount of supplies and clones, they put a great amount of distance between the Twi Leks and the droids. They took out the closest entrance and made them take the long way around, then held them off as long as they could. You still have much to learn, young Padawan.

@@skybot7091 a good plan, however considering how little explosives they had plus the goal being not to defeat as many as possible, but rather to extend the battle as long as they could, I will have to agree with the Jedi on this one. Sure, they could have taken out a bunch more droids, but when out of explosives they would have been sitting ducks and the battle would have been over quickly. Instead they made the droids take a longer route while being sure to only have to fight from one front.
