RobinHood East I've been in a couple of performances that were absolutely terrible because the conductor was nervous and kept shooting glares at anyone he thought was messing up.
Yes, but his job really is easy. All he has to do is give the downbeat - this crew is so good they do the rest, especially on a chart like this with the percussion section morphing into a rhythm section.
The fact that everyone is so ridiculously comfortable up there, makes this the best orchestra performance I have ever seen. They're all just up there having a good time and it is marvelous. I will never be able to watch another orchestra performance without comparing it to this one. And the conductor's sunglasses - on point.
Nobody EVER notices the light guys until something goes wrong. A few years of experience teaches them that when attention is on them, it's because they've screwed up, or they're supposed to fix somebody else's screw up. Every time I've seen a cameraman, sound tech, lighting guy, etc. pulled onto stage/set they looked nervous and uncomfortable the whole time (beyond even what a normal person that's not used to being on stage/set would be). But, yeah, they did do an awesome job, and probably not somethign they're used to doing.
I know right? I've been lucky to have been a part of an orchestra's production team just like this. The work behind the scenes for a concept like this is one of the most stressful yet most rewarding parts when it succeeds. My hat's off to these guys.
You know you're gonna have a damn good day when you find a video with an orchestra playing "Gangnam Style" and the conductor is having just as much fun as the orchestra. And the dancer has some serious moves!
Real musical talent like this doesn't get the attention it deserves. Fuck all these current popular "musicians"; come back when you learn how to sing without auto-tune.
every generation thinks the music of the new generation is strange or awful. its only the people that move with the times that don't become bitter. i like music based on if it is good or not. there is plenty of awful music from all eras but only the good stuff lives on, don't see the past with rose tinted glasses. i love Abba, the beatles led zeppelin, pink Floyd, Marti Webb, the stylistics, the specials, madness , ELO, black Sabbath. i also live George Ezra, Coldplay, Adele, sonata arctica, ramstein, Eminem, Florence and the machine, lady gaga. back in the day parents thought Elvis was awful horrible music not like the decent music of their generation where it was more about how well you sang than how well your hips gyrated. now my grandma would look at George Ezra and say "yes but he is no Elvis... ooh back in my day..." so on and on it goes. there is no such thing as a generation of bad music
Serious respect for those trumpet players at the beginning! 🙌 Those are some INSANELY high notes for the trumpet and yet their intonation was perfect and no one split a note! 😯 Honestly, I think the only time I’ve ever heard a trumpet playing higher notes with these guys is when James Morrison plays!
You should really do more "Pop songs", it sounds awesome and will definitely make "classical orchestra music" more popular. Really nice, congratulations
***** I'm a bit sad to read your comment. You have to realize that studying music takes a lot of time and can be expensive. Lots of people never had the chance to study music, if their parents weren't interested in it. For them, it's hard to start with "hardcore" classical music, because that's like learning a new language, and it's outside their "cultural habits". Such plays could create the opportunity for more people to make a first step. I'm not asking for every orchestra to stop playing classical music and instead play one direction
Totally agree with both of you. I appreciate the sound of orchestral music, but plain and simply don’t like 95% of classical music, just as I dislike 95% of jazz, rap, hip hop, R&B, country, and a smattering of other genres. I’ve always liked orchestral covers of pop and rock music. Anyway, I think the orchestral world puts off a lot of people with the stodgy adherence to classical music, black suits, etc. I know it put me off.
Without a single doubt you guys are the BEST, most creative orchestra I've ever heard of. Inspirational- not gonna stop until I find an orchestra like this! Let alone those dance moves... Thanks for making my day
That percussion battle in Let's get loud is awesome. Especially the drummer's first part with those laid back triplets and how he gets back is so tasty.
I never knew I needed to hear Party Rock Anthem played by an orchestra but now that I’ve heard it my entire world has been changed. Somehow it’s even more hype than the original

The conductor is just having the time of his life
When the conductor has fun, so does the rest of the orchestra.
***** speaking from experience
RobinHood East I've been in a couple of performances that were absolutely terrible because the conductor was nervous and kept shooting glares at anyone he thought was messing up.
+Rachel W get a different conductor lol! Anyway if your playing correctly dun worry
Yes, but his job really is easy. All he has to do is give the downbeat - this crew is so good they do the rest, especially on a chart like this with the percussion section morphing into a rhythm section.

Me, an Asian: This is the most American thing I've ever seen.
Golden Fazbear Green conclusion: this is the most Asian American stuff we all ever seen lol
Can we at least agree that this is one of the most wonderful things we've seen?
Golden Fazbear Green Bearing in mind that only _one_ of the three songs covered here was written by an American...
@@tookitogo two songs...Gloria Estefan is an American citizen.
HAHAHAHA So fokken true omg. Asian American is not an ethnicity. It's a culture.

*no one*

Conductor: Today's your lucky day.
halfatheory357 hahahaha!
Lol. That guy isn't embarrassed by anything. He's having the time of his life.
He’s my conductor :-)
should'a had DJ Raphi in the audience! he has a how to vid on how to dance to that AND more!
Why is no one appreciating the dancer tho. He really slayed.
Yes he did! That was especially awesome when you consider that he also plays an instrument!
the dancer was probably the best part of the whole thing
They did

Then you have to see this: 😉czcams.com/video/NYvEvP2cmdk/video.html

Don't think I've seen a conductor that happy behind a podium, other than John Williams. It's great to see that level of joy.
Actorsstudio2777 Have a look to "Dudamel - mambo ", another one who looks super happy :)
Arthur Fiedler could be like that when conducting the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra back in the 70s. Not a lot of video of him around, unfortunately.
Andre Rieu.. mambo no. 5.. you will love it.

i would pay half of my life to see Beethoven face reaction
That's not enough. The minimum payment is you and your first born's soul.

+leo black I think he would stay with straight face because he was completely deaf.
+leo black That's hard to say because Beethoven was deaf.
I don't think you should. he is deaf lmao
Whoever wrote this for band is a pure genius
You should see the street carnaval in Rio, the brass bands do this type of reworking quite regularly 😄

The first song, "Let's get loud", by Gloria Estefan
Well, how did i get to this part of youtube again? :D
..just pure awesomeness
0 subs without videos? I have to play this at my concert
i'm asking the same question to myself :D
I got here from a Gone In 60 Seconds clip.
0 subs without videos? I was actually searching how to iron my shirts. Still no shirts ironed.
Between ''Lets get Loud'' and ''Party Rock'' Anthem transition, there is ''I gotta feeling'' intro. So cool.
Went for this this concert 3 years ago. Still the best concert I've attended in my entire life.
Can you point link to the whole concert if you have ?
Damnnn..Not just the orchestra,he conducts the audiences too..That's absolutely the best night of his life. Terbaik!!!!
That guys dances like he is jamming at home alone. I love it. No shame. You do you boo boo. That's real confidence right there.

there's also a little bit "i gotta feeling" in this performance!!
So glad someone else noticed too
I read this post just as the song played
Yes, its where the Party Rock Anthem is.
I've dreamed of an orchestra like this... and what was the dance style is he dancing during party rock, it looks epic...
called shuffling
the rest of it
no idea :P
Popping mostly
it a band and orchestra cuz it have wind and wood instruments are in band so yea
I love how the drummer wears a fucking scream mask
That conductor wins the most chill conductor award.
Bonus points for the guy who gets out and dances to Party Rock Anthem.
This is what happens when you get rid of all the boring, respectable string players.
Implay cellomand clarinet and no were not boring
Jesus Christ, it's just a joke.
Alyssa Hightower You just proved his point......
+TheAcer1981 lol
oh I get it boring lol wait isn't boring what you do with a saw?
Damn. That dancing dude has some moves.
1:26 Trombones - “omg we’re playing the melody!” 😃
Quick! We have a melody!! Let's triple all the dynamics!!!!
As a trombonist, very stoked.
This made me laugh harder than it should have, :D
Real musical talent like this doesn't get the attention it deserves. Fuck all these current popular "musicians"; come back when you learn how to sing without auto-tune.
You need to look deeper, lad. The same orchestra peeps during the Baroque period were not popular at their times

I love old music too (mainly cause it's good and the lyrics doesn't involve love, sex, and screaming).
I don't mind some new (today) music tho.
Ironically, without autotune these songs wouldn't exist and this video wouldn't either.
0:51 - 3:04 Let's get loud

That Party Rock Anthem was the best
How fun is this???? Love how everyone just gets into the spirit of this! But I'm curious too if the dancer is a member of the orchestra!
Patricia Harold he is, a few seconds into party rock, look over the conductors left shoulder. you can see the kid put down his sax.
Saxophones rule! Lol I wish the saxophones in my band were cool. All we do it squeak and play too loud, sadly. Haha
+Luke T. im the only bass clarinet in our band and i dont squeak......but i overtake all of the band with my loudness lol
+SgZ Vapor my best friend is a bass clarinet and I swear to god she's louder than our entire trumpet section😂
KetziaArcherion omg thats my type of girl haha one thats like me, we need her in hur band so now its double the annoyance to our conductor XD
God, I would LOVE to be at an orchestra concert like this with people ON THEIR FEET.
Yeah. Had it been held in the Philippines, I believe it will be a street party scene!
party rock anthem is the best with orchestra style.
Orchestras are definitely one of the coolest things humans ever did
