My 55 Chevy is Finally Plated! - Been a Long Year

- Here we go! A few last minute items to check off the list and it was off to inspection. While the 55 was away I went and started picking up parts to my 57 Chevy project. Car passed inspection and it was time for it's first legit drive! Let me know what you think in the comments.

I am working on a 55 Chevy as well.Its a 4 door sedan and Im gonna leave it that way because its really solid.It is a BelAir its factory color is Neptune green,Im going back with it when its ready to paint(long ways off lol).Its back to a rolling chassis finally I too am using the stock rearend it has 3:55 gears.Im gonna run a 327 and 66 model 3 speed Saginaw transmission.My theme for the build is early 60s as in a kid in high school in about 1963 got a 55 and dropped a 327 in it.Im gonna run steel wheels and either do them in gunmetal or neptune green and use stainless trim rings.Nothing wild on the motor.Factory 275 horse 327 intake edelbrock performer cam 2 1/2 inch ramhorn exhausts with 2 1/2 pipes.461 heads Pertronix electronic distributor powermaster alternator that looks like a stock generator 600 edelbrock carb.Stock for year motor mount setup comp cams stamped steel roller tip rockers.No chrome or aluminum,Ive got Chevrolet script valve covers for it.Im sooooooooo ready to get it driveable.I estimate the motor will be about like the factory 300 horse 327.

And like 1/10th the cost of a 2dr from what it seems.

Nice job now it’s legal u might find u may want to drive it more often than work on it like myself let us see that 57 I would do a 56 also u would have a tri five meca I know it takes cash but with on the wrench easily done congratulations nice work

Passed inspection awesome now you can do some cruising in that 55 my brother's best friend used to pick me up in his bad ass 55 that looked just like yours,when I was in the high school in the 70s we got pulled over for loud pipes and he got a ticket he told me to put the ticket in the glove box, it was full of tickets..😂😂

Cool channel man and that is so strange for me to see Manitoba plates on any automotive related CZcams channel since I live in Manitoba lol. Btw, I used to run out of Provence plates on the front so that people could not get my plate when doing something that most people would find extremely out of control or reckless lol!

maybe you can run the plug wires under the headers they stay cooler that way to also .i had that same tunnel ram on my chevelle i loved it !

The aluminum panel in your dashboard is from a 56, the 55 aluminum dash panel is all bowtie emblems
All you need is one of those 'Moon' foot gas pedals.

What color are you going to paint it?I have a two door 55 Belair sedan have owned it since 1969 my first car.Its flat black with all the chrome & bumpers,trim,etc. Has wide tires n back also with 18 inch Boyd Coddington Crowned jewel rims all around its a daily driver looks cool same as you car does & sits about the same. I watch all of the car shows, Bitchin Rides, Graveyard Cars etc. They build very expensive restored hot rods and muscle cars. Don't get me wrong I wish I could afford one. Your work is just as impressive as there work is. The difference is there in million dollar shops and your building cars that are period survivors. One of my favorite movies from the seventies is Two Lane Blacktop. Your 55 looks just like it. I have forty thousand laying, would you build me one.
The trifecta of bad ass bowties the way they should be not over the top over finished trailer queens you actually drive em cool channel man and the pie crust slicks definitely look better on the 55

i put a old ford A/FX car back to somewhat street legal lol. no inspection or front plate in my state. good thing i sure not pass lol.

@@DDSpeedShop you do beautiful work I'll tell you a story when I was a young man all my cars I had to have 4 speeds my first car was a 69 Cutlass I turned it into a fake 442 the automatic 350 Oldsmobile motors are not drilled for a pilot bearing unless it comes from the factory with a 4-speed I remove the crank had the Machine Shop drill it out for a pilot bearing put it back in with the original bearings motor never ever gave me a problem rain great.
