    Yes, there is a reason why China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan have very few immigrants, because most Asian Cultures are extremely racist and xenophobic.

      isn't the fact that most people around the world historically would be encouraged to learn European languages instead of Asian languages in school, and western xenophobia made travel to Asia seem less desirable? obviously you are not inclined to emigrate somewhere where the language and culture barrier will be so prohibitive? i've actually watched many youtube videos of black transplants who prefer living in Japan bc they might get stared at, and of course there is some racism there, but it's much more preferable than the racism they encounter at home where they feel so unsafe, while they feel super safe in Japan.

      -totally not correct. The reason Asian countries have fewer immigrants is the world historically has been Eurocentric/Europhilic
      Only recently has there been more interest globally in learning Asian languages. It's less undesirable and intimidating now to think about moving to Asia, the language and cultural barrier seems less daunting. I grew up in an area where there were no interest in anything ethnic, no Chinese or Even Mexican restaurants. Historically b in the west, Asian things were considered awkward or not desirable, Asian accents, Asian languages, Asian food so stinky. Asian n languages weren't taught in schools until very very recently. Europe was the ultimate travel destination, place to visit. This guy at the bank where i worked with literally said "Ewwww" when someone mentioned the idea of visiting Hong Kong. Western xenophobia is the reason for lack of emigration to Asia from the west historically

    It is really sad, I live in Zhengzhou in China, and since being here people have not been so nice to me as I have dark skin. Recently I went to Chengdu, and I was with 2 white guys from Switzerland, and white privilege was so apparent. I saw the treatment that they got and I was either ignored or insulted by some. Made me really think twice about staying in China and made me feel worthless and invisible. I never realised that Chinese could be so cold and nasty until I came to Zhengzhou. It saddens me that most Chinese will never defend you either.

    • @flysmask
      @flysmask Před 4 měsíci

      Don't be sad. Most White people get better treatment from local Chinese than Chinese from other areas too. In fact most probably will treat you better than Chinese from other provinces too.
      This is the result of Western dominance and just propaganda. Consider this, western countries spend hundreds of millions on "cultural promotion", media narrative campaigns targeted at Chinese in China, how much do Black countries spend on propaganda in China? How dominant is African culture on the global stage?
      Chinese people who worship White people also look down on other Chinese. Some of them are super racists towards themselves too. There is also subculture that loves Black people, mainly from US Black culture, but Black people don't have hegemony so it's relatively small.

    • @sc33h3o3

      in Korea i learned that they are VERY shy about engaging when they are totally self-conscious around westerners about their inadequate level of English knowledge. shyness often is misconstrued as snobbiness. it makes me sad when there are many other things going on , but understandably everything gets processed only through lens of racism. eg, i heard that especially in some regions of Korea the social expectation in stores is to be hyper-focused on customers coming into the store, but of course if that cultural style is done by some shopkeepers in America in a black neighborhood it would be interpreted in a different way, especially also bc of culture clash regarding levels of reservedness, and plus language barrier on top of it.

      i've watched yt videos of black traveleers speak of areas of China say the people are very friendly, curious and want to meet/ talk to the person. so just like the South in America, why can't people in the west also realize that countries out there also will have certain areas that will be worse than others?

    • @easyalpha1
      @easyalpha1 Před 2 měsíci

      It’s more the culture than race. There are pockets of
      areas of China where skin color is not a issue. Plus if you don’t speak the language it tougher. You could be Japanese in China and be treated worse….
      If they know you are successful…you will for the most part be treated with respect regardless.

    from your accent it seems you are someone born in Asia is this correct? if so, you might not understand American racism, like many not born in America and who were born in homogenous societies with centuries old traditionalism. i personally think that the globe is correct in their view of America as having the worst racism in the world, unarmed black people getting shot in the back by police, Asian elderly being assaulted or even killed.

      Well Europeans are certainly cashing in on homegrown Asian biases. Why not? If I were a white man I'd probably have intercours with entire towns in Asia. The land where people worship me VS the land where I'm an average nobody? Too easy.
