All,founding fathers took oaths of secrecy to freemasonry BEFORE they either became founding fathers OR got involved in *the great American experiment* circa the Act of 1871...the establishment of USA INC.
This is actually good content compared to your previous videos. Make more videos like this.

I never claimed to be a smart person, but not being able to find the US on a map is crazy!
Americans are god awful at geography, I don't think I've seen one not know where the US is on a map though.
I can 100% guarantee you that footage is faked/exaggerated. Literally everybody I've ever spoken to over the age of like... 10 knows how to point to the US on a map. Same goes for being able to name at least 3 countries.
I never understood why many American people don’t know where the countries on map. It makes me so disappointed and how so dumber it become.
@@RyotoMatsu Many Americans face poor education and systems that don't support them. Now, I definitely agree that footage is most likely faked, because I have never in my entire life met someone who can't recognize the US on a map, or identify other continents, or knows at minimum the general area of a country. Now, knowing the entire world map, no. The other thing is that Americans generally don't leave America, so it's not as big a deal. America is enormous, and it is literally possible to take multiple days to travel across a single state. Because of this, most people in America just learn where things in America are, because the chances of them ever even leaving the country for the majority of Americans is non-existent.
@@krisveliviaYou're actually right. That clip is from Jimmy Kimmel and while they do occasionally show real dumb responses to easy questions, most of the time they alter the clips to make the people look worse. For example, the clip may show someone asking "where on this map is the USA?" when in reality they actually asked "point to Brunei", "where is Kyrgyzstan?"
I used to go to a music/recording school literally a block away from the show (M.I on Hollywood and Highland) and would see them taping these segments on occasion. Some of us got curious once after class so we walked over and they make it clear before you sign the release that they can and will alter the footage to make you look dumber. A classmate was going to do it but changed his mind because he didn't want to be ridiculed by people for a disingenuous comedy segment.
Edit - to be clear, the clip showing the physical map on a stand asking "where is the US" is the one from Jimmy Kimmel

I like the part where you reason that kids don't want to go out anymore not only because they're social media addicts, but because there's nothing really to see or do. Nothing but eight lane highways, cookie cutter subdivisions, strip and shopping malls, fast food restaurants to the horizon, vanishing open space, et al. A real geography of nowhere ... 😮
While I have a particular distaste for American architecture, saying there's nothing really to do doesn't float, there wasn't much to do back in the day either. Young people will make their own things to do on their own by just going out and socializing, it's entirely the fault of the internet here IMHO
Well, sure, as the film The Florida Project demonstrated. The two little girls who had to make the most out of living in a tourist motel on the Kissimee, Fla stroad strip. So I get it. But are they the better for it ? What's the likelihood that one or both of the girls winds up like the mother - a former stripper turning tricks to make the week's rent ? 🤔
I agree with you in part. US's relaxed immigration allows for an influx of people from all parts of the world, most especially Catholic Hispanics from the south. This gives the US a lot of soul. What you don't see a lot of in the South American countries is zoning. Cities and towns are built using the old European model, which allows for much more human interaction. There are cities like this in the US, but they are also the most expensive places to live.

What Enlightenment critics get wrong is that "reason" is responsible for colonialism and slavery, which is bullshit. It was the lack of reason and questioning one's own biases that led those atrocities. We can agree with the achievements of rational inquiry and condemn colonialism. It's not an either or case.

Not an American here, genuine question: do you guys even have geography class? If so, then what do you learn on them?
lol yes. Basic curriculum definitely covers basic geography, worldwide and what is in the states (which is huge by the way). The shocking videos of very dumb people is far from the norm of your average American
is not that the program is bad, I mean, USA its got the most expensive schools which it means they can afford the best, so even with the best programs, teachers, etc etc.. is not about that, is about the social and culture important. Nobody cares here..because it doesnt matter. You see it in their attitude and even in TV ..laughing about how they don't even know if the planet is flat or not and carry on with more important things in their life
As an American teen who recently lived and went to school in England for a year, I know firsthand just how little Europeans deem our geographical knowledge. Firstly, to answer your question, the average American public school curriculum does not include a formal geography class. That being said we do typically learn about the different US states in elementary school, usually within social studies/history class. However, like I said, we learn about the states... so the class is limited to American geography. Therefore, yes the average American does not know a lot about geography outside of America, and while I do believe this is an issue, I don't think It's so fair to judge Americans quite as harshly as Europeans often do. The average European does not truly understand just how big and diverse America is. Our country is GIGANTIC and the different states have very different cultures, in some cases even comparable to the cultural differences between European countries. I'm from Nyc and I just started at a college in a state called Wisconsin, I'm sure you've never heard of this state. Most of the kids at this college are from Wisconsin themselves and I find it very difficult to relate to them, their culture is really different from mine. Similarly, like this video mentioned, most Americans don't go outside of the country to vacation, because they can really just fly across the country to discover a different culture/climate/ lifestyle, it take me the say amount of time to fly to LA from NYC as it does to fly to London: 8 hours (It takes someone in London 2 1/2 hours to get to Paris BY TRAIN! Chew on that). Again, I don't really condone this, as I still think Americans should experience perspectives from outside of the country, but you get the point I was trying to make. Overall, what I am trying to say is that, yes, although America is not quite as big as Europe, the country almost functions like a continent in some ways. Therefore, although it is still an issue that we are quite ignorant in learning about the rest of the world, the rest of the world is somewhat ignorant too, because they lack some perspective on the situation and the actual size of our country- AND, personally, I would appreciate if British people would stop asking me if I can name all 7 continents, I'm a New Yorker, I know my shit.- Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk (:
geography is addressed almost entirely in elementary school
Teacher here, I've taught World History 6th grade, and I integrated geography as much as I could. One big issue we have is that when the kids are not scoring well in state tests, they take time from social studies in order to extra prepare.
Most people in Europe own a passport. That makes sense. Now, recall that Texas alone is three times the size of the UK. Many Americans don't have passports because we don't need them.
I'd love to visit the UK, but my Arabic is a bit shaky.
Exactly. People fetishize europeans as these intellectual aesthetes. They all speak several languages simply out of necessity. Every few miles is a another country that speaks a different language.
And societal decline is ubiquitous. The only reason America gets the brunt of the criticism is because of our global relevancy.
Everyone who makes the argument of "Americans aren't well traveled" needs to look at a map that overlays the USA over Western Europe. It's easy to be "well traveled" when the proximity of the different countries are just a "state" away. Iol

It’s not just America. It’s a lot of westernized countries, most 1st world countries. Phones and being “connected” like you said is not what makes humans live a full life. We are literally a community species and we have no sense of community anymore and only care about one’s self. While caring about yourself is great, narcissistic amounts and ill placed pride is not. We are betraying our very nature.
Not true the world learns about everything around the world but for some reason America think they too good and the best to learn about other countries out side of America, they think their the best

I attended 3 different universities before graduating and none of them were as good as my old high school. They were too easy. They just want everyone to graduate so their numbers look good.

I see people in France, Austria and England embracing outlandish theories, whereas 10 to 15 years ago the US had its unique brand of stupidity. We weren't smarter, but there is an amount of propaganda in America that wasn't seen in Europe since WW2 (the "American dream" where success is available to anyone, the feeling that no country is as free as America (when the average European country offers actually more personal freedom), the fascination with the military...

As a Brit growing up in the late 90's-2000's, I consumed a lot of American media (more than my native British media because I thought most of it was uncool). I generally looked up to America and its badass image (Undertaker was my childhood idol), but we really need to stop copying them now. There's literally no positive characteristics to current day America. All mimicking them through the 2010's to now has resulted in is the culture wars making their way over here and more and more people who don't really need cars buying cars, resulting in an absurd amount of traffic, people paving over their front gardens to turn them into driveways, poor air quality and people becoming more unhealthy and detached from nature.
The British Need their culture back. All of Western Europe too.

@MidnightGreen4649 me too! I'm an American guy, but I've always looked up to British humor because I appreciate snide remarks and sarcasm. Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson was incredible.
@@jishservedcold3536 Compared to American comedies, Top Gear is far better written. Ironically, I think it's because it doesn't always rely on comedy. Even if you don't feel the same love for cars, constant laughing and joking gets stale very quickly, and the emotional moments and funny moments are really well-balanced out. A masterclass in good writing and scripting.
I love that the examples of American influencers in this video aren't that far off from UK influencers. When it comes to social media, hype, trends, consumerism etc., UK is ''the America of Europe''.
My friend once said: ''Most of us immigrants here in the UK are people who couldn't get to the US.'' I found it funny when she said it but when I thought about it, I realised that she was right. UK is the closest you can get to the American culture in Europe.
I'm not saying that one way of life is better than the other. I grew up in Europe and I love it here, but I also like the US and I go there every year because I enjoy spending time over there as well.
But, I have also noticed that people in the UK love talking about issues in other countries to make it seem like they don't have enough of their own issues. I remember when in early 2000s UK media and politicians were obsessively talking about ''racism in Eastern Europe'' because the governments over there weren't able to help those huge Gypsy communities (originally from India). UK media and politicians were calling them racist because those governments were trying to help their own people before helping others. But when several of these countries joined the EU, hundreds of thousands of Gypsies moved to the UK (especially the Northern parts). After a while, UK realised that their way of life is way different to most Europeans and that it is not as easy to help them, but the UK loved calling other countries racist. And the funniest thing is that many Gypsies are now moving back to Eastern Europe when UK turned out to be worse.
I like the UK, but it is really annoying that the media, politicians and YT ''influencers'' are now focusing on ''what's wrong with America'' instead of looking in the mirror. It was the same during the Brexit saga when everything in Europe was bad and the UK was perfect. That didn't age well either.
the solution to a ton of these problems is to go offline, but then here we all are..........
There was a period from the 1990s to 2010 where the internet was actually an incredible tool for freedom and knowledge. That golden age has faded now in lieu of attention-hoarding slop and optimized commercialism, but there are still occasional echoes of that original aspect.

Just because a person is famous, doesn't mean they are smart. Despite this, over half the country practically worships people like Jake Paul, Will Smith, Kanye West, and Taylor Swift. It doesn't help that companies know that we have an idol worship issue because they stick celebrities in all the advertisements. Like, why the hell do i need Kevin Heart to sell me car insurance? I'll tell you as a European that has traveled to the US for the past 15 years, often and for extended stays. In my experience there is a disconnect, what is perceived as "Stupid" seems to be concentrated in the new upper middle class, and in particular in large urban centers. The people I've met in middle America, the south or even smaller towns on the coasts might not have the high degree of formal education but they are curious and aware that they lack said education. I cant express how cool it is to have a farmer from Ohio genuinely curious and in awe of meeting me , a random douchebag from 7 thousand miles away. They key difference is that the "Towny" American wants to learn.
This is also becoming an issue in Europe as well, particularly with younger generations. My neibour a 20year old dude literally can't name the countries we border, and perhaps my final point is that what is often overlooked are the British, by far as bad as the worst American stereotypes, just lacking self awareness.
Two years ago, I moved from a major US city to a farm town because even the lowest paying job had 100 applicants at minimum. I went from having 1 or 2 irl friends to having a whole friend group and felt weird the first time someone bumped into me and made a point to apologize. My monthly expenses also went down, and jobs are everywhere.
I noticed that I'm a bit of a spectacle, people will ask me all kinds of questions about city living and I want to tell them to not even go there to visit because what they have is so much better than what I was used to.
Yeah I absolutely agree with the last part about the english. They are often worse than the americans and atleast some americans admit that they lack knowledge while the english will try to fight you

I lived in Melbourne (Aus) 4.5m people .. I met loads of awesome musicians, skaters and interesting people to talk to about engineering, physics, cool travel stories, building drag cars, new metal bands to check out.. however it's not everyone obviously.. I didn't agree that city has monopoly on stupid, as in Australia some smaller towns here are full of bogans ( yobs/chavs/rednecks) who you don't really see in the cities, who do things like tailgate throw bottles out their windows at your car if they see interstate plates on your car..or you go to a shop and some look like lobotomized "whaddayawant?".
