    Well i bit the bullet. I purchased a brand new 2018 pelican bass raider 10e yesterday for $500. Today i bought the Minn Kota endura max 55lb thrust with 36” shaft for $260 shipped plus i get a $25 gift card rebate. I got the boat from a private seller and the motor from BOE Marine online. They have the motor for about $10 cheaper than everyone else. BOE Marine was AWESOME to deal with!!!

    Move to the front seat...turn the control head and stop using reverse. You will find you have more control and can stay in one spot. I have an old school transom mount with a foot pedal. I made a bow mount for it, turned the control head and never looked back (no pun intended).

    I have the same motor.. Sounds like your battery level indicator was working correctly. 60% should only be 2 lights. 1 light: 25%, 2= 50% 3,= 75% 4=100%. Once it drops below 75% the 3rd light will go out. Meaning your 50-74% charged.

    I have an Endura 55 and Endura Max . I had just broken off a tab on the transom mount. I think it's because of the way I've been trailering it. I usually tilt it back . I cant get it completely horizontal because of my seat situation. My question is. Should I bring it up as far as I can and leave it perpendicular to the boat on my trailer to avoid the stress on the tabs caused by the trailer bouncing? Too much of a hassle to dismount the motor all the time.

      Hey Gunner. Thanks for watching. I really like the setup with the motor in the center and wires running down the middle to both front and back. We run a 55lb in back and 44 lb in front. We don't have them turned on at same time but it is super nice if the front guy can take over motor duties while back guy rigs or releases a fish etc. I do run the 44 in the back when alone and it is plenty to move me around and I'm no small dude.

Bass raider or bass hunter ex. Seems the raider sits higher on the water. Lots of useful info, enjoyed the video. In your opinion would my everstart 65 amp battery be strong enough for the 55 lb thrust? I currently have the MK 30 lb. Also...will the 55lb actually have a noticeable difference over my 30 lb? I might get a Newport Vessel 55 lb because Minnkota is sold out everywhere.Thanks

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  Před 4 lety

      Honestly Walter, I don't think you will see a noticeable difference. I have the 44lb and 55lb endura max and I have gone exclusively to using the 44lb motor. It is just so much lighter to get in and out of the boat and truck. It moves me around the lake plenty good enough. I think I last check it and with two of us on the boat, I was going around 2.5 mph. I am a big guy... over 3 bills easily and it moves me fine. I assume you have a Pelican or something similar for a boat in terms of weight etc.. I do think the battery would be fine if you decide to get the 55lb motor. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for watching Walter, good luck and Fish on!

      @@fishingwithvance Ty for the info. Yes I have a Field and Stream Angler8 8.5 foot very similar to the Pelican. Had it for 3 weeks now and like it. Last weekend got caught going upstream in a bayou with strong current [I'm from louisiana] and I was not able to move at all at the highest setting . Was a little scary. Was hoping the 55 lb would give a little more power. Cannot get a Minnkota now, everywhere is out of stock....Dicks,Academy,Cabelas,Bassproshop,Walmart and even the Minnkota site itself is out of stock of the 40's and 55's. Hey Vance, Great review. Is it true the max will go much easier on your battery. ALSO Could you go out on a river and go upstream with the set up of yours. I'm thinking of the same set for myself. Is the hull and the engine compatible with going up stream on a river. I have a Sea Eagle Raft which cannot up up river because of the hull and they way it's in the water. Have you taken this boat on the river?

    • @fishingwithvance
      @fishingwithvance  Před rokem

      Hey SUTV, I haven't had this on the River yet so I can't speak to that. It is my experience that the MAX to go easier on the battery. I can run the 55 or the 44lb motor all day in windy conditions and not run out of juice. Granted, my battery was newer when I did that a few years ago and tend not fish that long but it held up nice. This was my primary motor source as well. I plan to put this boat on the river this season so I can answer how that goes at that time. Thanks for watching and Fish on!
