    Pereira is unbelievable. This dude came over to a sport that involves grappling and takedowns in his 30s!!! In 8 fights he has become a champ in two separate divisions. I don't think the average UFC viewer understands how fucking unreal that is. There's only a handful of fighters that have achieved champ status in TWO divisions, especially moving UP instead of down.

      That comment makes zero sense so most legit fans are also hype chasers ? Because they picked Alex over Hill? First off some people are just fans and pick who they pick because they just WANT to see their guy win, and others picked because Hill straight up said said he was going to just stand and try and bang with him. Get a clue buddy.

    The only run that you can compare it to was the Jon Jones run after becoming champion. Shogun. Rashad. Rampage. Machida. Vitor. That was five prime LHW champions in a row, without counting a Glover win that aged like wine. Bader win holds up pretty good too considering he became Bellator double champ.
    Now imagine Poatan and Jones meeting.

    • @Nykandros
      @Nykandros Před 15 dny

      Except the fact that Jones went through the gauntlet instead of being gifted shots & also had match-ups against all fighting styles instead of cherry-picked favorable bouts. Jones is the real deal, Pereira drowns the moment someone is actually willing to take him into deep waters instead of having a gentlemen's stand-off.

    • @EmmeryMyers
      @EmmeryMyers Před 15 dny +2

      @Nykandros who are the UFC champions he has ducked? We're just talking about strings of fights against top championship level guys. Alex hasn't ducked anyone but obviously there's elements that make Jones more impressive from certain POVs. However its feeling like cope to say Alex is being gifted fights.

    • @8301TheJMan
      @8301TheJMan Před 15 dny

      True, though Jones' win over Rampage woulda been significantly more impressive if he had faced Jackson a couple years earlier. By the time him and Rampage fought, Quinton was at the tail end if not even possibly a little past his prime. I mean, not by a lot and certainly was massively diminished in any sort of way, but by that point in his career you could tell he wasn't quite as quick and explosive as he was once was while also having become quite one-dimensional as a fighter by that point in his career. Nowadays people remember Jackson largely for his slams, rather than the fact that he had some of the best boxing the UFC has ever seen, due to both having great technique and striking defense along with being one of the most devastating punchers to grace the octagon. Still extremely impressive what Jones did to him, just wished it had been, like I said, a couple years earlier - it would been a slightly better fight imo.

    One thing I find odd about most fans of either fighters and izzys logic is.. in the two kick boxing fights, izzy says he was winning, the second especially was about how he was winning exchanges and then got knocked out luckily, and the mma fight was just the same thing.. so he discredits alex in all those 3 fights. But in the 4th where alex is slapping him around the ring, for izzy to land a incredible knock out is a valid win ?
    One cannot discredit another's success and then claim the same success in similar circumstances..
    The other dumb argument is its a different sport so it's 1/1 ( izzy also uses this argument in a round about way) but no actively competitive person will accept this argument.. regardless of sport if someone I see as a rival beats me in it, you might aswell have scored it on the same tally... it's 3/1.. not a great ratio people..

    Jan could've won if he just used some of his control time on the ground to cause damage. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for Alex, all of that time didn't matter much in the eyes of most judges and that's probably why Alex won. They were pretty even striking wise, but Alex had landed better strikes. It was much more of a fumble for Jan than it was a robbery against him, and Pereira was lucky for that

    Good video, but some mistakes were made by you.
    Adesanya NEVER managed to take down Pereira, it was the opposite. Pereira took down Adesanya in round 2, then he tried it again in round 3 and got reversed on the way down. He wasn't confident in his BJJ at that point so he never tried to get back up to not get submitted by mistake.
    Jan meanwhile didn't dominate Adesanya, he won every round but not dominantly, and he only chose to take him down in the last 2 rounds, Jan simply $ucks at grappling hard, has "some" offensive grappling but $hits the bed (literally) against anybody with some prestige in BJJ, forget about Glover melting him in 2 rounds, Jan was terrified of washed up Jacare Souza taking him down thus the fight was as close as it was. And lets be honest his ground game was 2nd rate, he took Adesanya down and wet blanketed on him except the last 10 seconds of round 5.
    Also Alex NEVER needed time to bulk up, he was already the 2nd biggest light heavyweight out there after Johnny Walker. Alex was already 232 pounds while fighting at MW, cutting an absurd 47 pounds. Apparently all he needed to do to recover his brain was to just not cut 47 pounds.
    And don't pretend mate just cause you had no idea, I picked Sean to dominate Adesanya, you guys overrated Izzy to the moon. His striking is complete $hit, he can't throw a punch without telegraphing it and Gastelum boxed his face off at times... Freaking Gastelum. Sean got KOd by a technical all time great (in terms of landing untelegraphed punches) in Pereira, doesn't means Adesanya beats him.
