What people outside Italy don't know, is that the first version of this song was a working song of the "mondine" (singular: "mondina"), young girls that were hired by landlords as rice weeders for 40 days a year, and their life was pure misery. During the Resistance War, many of the female partisans, especially in the regions of Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna, were "mondine".
The "mondine" ceased to be hired between 1950 and 1960, because of the modernization of rice cultivation in Northern Italy, but some of them are still alive, and there is a choir, the "Coro delle Mondine di Novi", that is made of old "mondine", and they sing traditional working or strike songs.

I did not watch La Casa de Papel, and I understand it's annoying when people do not know the meaning of the song and just like it because it was in a random popular tv show.
But also, it can be a great way for some people to discover the Red Army Choir and the History behind them ? Sure, some people don't care, but there are in fact a lot of people who read and searched a lot of informations about this song just because they heard it on TV. It's just a way to discover something.
I mean, I've been listening to the Red Army Choir for years, but I first learned about them in such a stupid way : A youtuber in a video I was watching made a short joke about communism and used Polyushka Polye as the music. I liked it, so I just googled it. Since then, I know all the masterpieces by the Red Army Choir and I'm still really interested in the story of the Soviet Union.

Let them Cry in the Comments, i found this Song Through The TV Show, but for me i wanted to know what it means Because i cant understand Italian, so i needed to look first for a translation, and even for a Full Version of The Song anyways, because CZcams Blocked the most Songs for my Region so i didnt found much, which are not "remixed" and when i looked the TV Show it first Came out so, i dont even Care what they Cry here arround in the Comments. When i was Hearing this song in the Show it got me, because when you hear it in the show you knew it was a War song, that Soldier, PArtian was Singing.

I think the level of friendship that Italy and the Soviet Union had is something you'll never be able to see again. Italians exported their culture in a country that had a rigorous ban policy and made important deals in energy, industry, and so on. Something impossible for other non communist countries (because yes, the italian republic had coalitions of parties around the DC, the Democratic Christians).
Stalin literally offered Togliatti to become the secretary of the Comintern, something that never happened to a foreigner of the Soviet Union. Togliatti refused, but shit...he has a city named after himself in Russia (Togliattigrad).

    Una mattina mi son svegliato
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    Una mattina mi son svegliato
    Eo ho trovato l'invasor
    One morning I woke up
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    One morning I woke up
    And I found the invader
    O partigiano porta mi via
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    O partigiano porta mi via
    Che mi sento di morir
    Oh partisan, carry me away,
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    Oh partisan, carry me away,
    For I feel I'm dying
E se io muoio da partigiano
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
E se io muoio da partigiano
    Tu mi devi seppellir
And if I die as a partisan
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
And if I die as a partisan
    You have to bury me
    Mi seppellire lassù in montagna
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    Mi seppellire lassù in montagna
Sotto l'ombra di un bel fiore
But bury me up in the mountain
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,
But bury me up in the mountain
Under the shadow of a beautiful flower
    E le genti che passeranno
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
    E le genti che passeranno
    Mi diranno: "Che bel fior"
And the people who will pass by
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,
And the people who will pass by
Will say to me: "what a beautiful flower"
È questo il fiore del partigiano
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
È questo il fiore del partigiano
    Morto per la libertà

C'è qualche errore e io vivo in Italia. "e ho trovato l'invasor", "portami via" attaccato e : "Mi seppellire lassù in montagna" sarebbe "e seppellire, lassù in montagna"

@Edrian Collantes i know it's likely you copied this from somewhere else, but fwiw you could translate the bella ciaos too: "Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!"
And that final stanza is missing its translation:
This is the flower of the partisan
(And this is the flower of the partisan)
Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
This is the flower of the partisan

I'm surprised that anyone who would listen to the anthem of international anti-fascist resistance would have such nationalistic ideas about language. RAC is Russian. Bella Ciao is Italian. That's not contradiction, that's Solidarity.

Well not 100 % correct since it only says "Una matina mi son svegliato" which just means "One morning I woke up" and "E ho trovato l'invasor" which rather means "And I saw the intruder/enemy" and "portami via" rather means "take me with you" but it's the freedom of art. It's a nice translation which actually fits well. :)
