FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two paranormal researchers (Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy) join forces with a nuclear engineer (Kate McKinnon) and a subway attendant (Leslie Jones) to fight off a slew of ghosts that have invaded New York City. Eventually, they come face-to-face with an evil entity who can control human beings. Chris Hemsworth co-stars as the ladies' hunky receptionist. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) directed this reboot of the 1980s franchise; Ivan Reitman, director of both the original film and Ghostbusters II, produced.

I love how the others were basically just standing there doing absolutely nothing when Holtzmann went off at the end.

In the Ghostbusters comic books, this version of the Ghostbusters got a chance to interact with the 'Classic' team. The big crossover itself featured teams from all kinds of cartoons and video games but Holtzmann's personality played pretty well off the original team. Her talking tech with Egon led to a pretty hilarious moment in the end. Venkman also kept joking that he had no idea what she must have been on but it was good for their line of work. XD

@@EclipticalChris Its the IDW comics, I believe its 'Crossing Over'. There's also 'Get Real' where the animated Ghostbusters show up. 'Ghostbusters International', and 'Ghostbusters 101' which is when the 2016 Ghostbusters first meet the OG Ghostbusters.

Honestly, I don't hate this movie.
It's a fun watch. Though I'll admit that it's certainly a far cry from the original series. Now that's not to say that it needs to be, but it's definitely a vast shift in tone when put into comparison between the previous installments.

I think the next Ghostbusters movie should be truly extraordinary now that Ivan Reitman son continues his father's Legacy and of course continues to honor the legacy of Harold Ramis. My guess is that the next villain should be an interdimensional ghost perhaps something along the lines of Multiverse. An ancient multiversal entity. Somebody who is beyond Gozer the gozerian somebody whose Beyond Vigo the Carpathian somebody who's completely Beyond Rowan and somebody who is far beyond Evo shandor the architect

Even though this movie may not have been the best, Holtzman carried it with her badass showdown.

Well, it's not funny, it doesn't make a lot of sense, and it portrays men as either immature or stupid.
Not to be rude but I really think you had to have lived under a rock to not know that this movie had a bad reputation, it was very critically-panned, it's been completely made non-canon, and has had countless video essays about why it's a bad movie in general and also a terrible Ghostbusters movie.

The director has even admitted on camera that he basically let the actors take over the film. Which is something a director should never do. This movie was a disaster. No wonder it flopped.

I know I probably am going to keep repeating this. But no matter how hated this version of Ghostbusters was, the amazing soundtrack was what probably saved a bit of it. That orchestral cover of the theme? Gave me chills! This was probably the one and only scene I liked from the movie!
As a Ghostbusters fan since 84 when I was six,I have to say even though this movie bombed I actually did find it enjoyable it wasn't the third movie we wanted but I was grateful for it, sure we finally got the fan service we always dreamt of having with Afterlife but for the time Ghostbusters 2016 was better than nothing.
