Connor staring at himself in the one way mirror and Hank's reaction had me dead 🤣🤣 I've never seen anyone do that before in all the playthroughs I've watched, that's so funny
the kara scene always makes me cry haha, it’s just so tense and the ost for that specifc scene (the whole game soundtrack is amazing tho) always makes me tear up, especially the part when it finally starts like going crazy as you’re running from todd. and yay !! connor and hank are my fav duo and characters in this game, plus one of my fav duos of all time. connor is just really endearingly awkward somehow lol. also “28 STAB WOUNDS!” is very iconic and especially funny when you choose to chill out afterwards and connor is like “oops sorry didn’t mean to yell.
I love how all the heavy material from Kara and Markus can often be off-set by the bromance of Conner and Hank 😂
When I played this moment, for the first time I was so worried and cried, because I saw me and my mother in Kara and Alice. Once upon a time we also had a bad father, and I was always afraid that this day would be the last
the fact that Todd took Kara by the neck as if she was a human is hilarious to me, like- she doesn't need air😭🖐
A lot of this story is dependent on how the people around the protagonists think of them, you need them to like you, so be mindful on how your actions are going to make your friends feel. For example, if Hank wasn't warm towards Conner, he would not have helped, keep that in mind.

i love the details on ralph's part. he was terrified of them but when kara chose to leave he looked relieved, yet disappointed at the same time. he was always alone so ig he needed company too :

The thing about this game is that there is no "correct path." Choices you make determine the ending, yes, but the choices made vary from person to person based on their own morals. But considering most people chose to help Alice and escape, it goes to show that when actually faced with reality, there is hope for humanity.
Ah man, should have stayed in the house. There's some brilliant scenes with Ralph if you do, he's an excellent character

I think what I love about this game are the details. As you were scanning the faces, their DOB was showing up and it was so surreal seeing people born in 2001 being 30+ in the game. And Hank was born the same year as me and he's in his 60's in the game even though now he would only be 37. Kinda trippy lol
I'm so excited to see you play this. The way you play games is so satisfying to me, you pay attention, you theorize, you're so active in the games you play and let the world envelope you. Seeing you predict plot-twists perfectly and just appreciate what games have to offer is great. You deserve so many more subs and I'm crossing my fingers you grow exponentially.

I definitely get the Westworld connection. I'd also recommend the AMC series Humans if you haven't seen it - it has very similar feelings and themes, and is exceptionally well done.

I've never seen that specific sequence with Kara and Todd, so that was cool. Good job with the confession scene as well. That one can go wrong really fast and it has a lot of interesting outcomes, but I think you got the best outcome possible.
The thing with the androids being able to look into mirrors is likely due to the themes of the game, specifically are androids "alive" with a conscience or simply machines. Psychologists use a test called a mirror self-recognition test to determine if a non-human animal has the ability of self-recognition and physiological and cognitive self-awareness. The androids being able to look in mirrors is probably a reference to this idea.
That timing. Right after I finished watching the first Ep. Love this game and loving your content Cyn. I really appreciate your attention to the detail that the developers spend so much time putting into their games that gets overlooked by at least 80% of the players. Devs need all the encouragement they can get in putting depth and detail into their worlds / stories. So thanks for being the way that you are. Stay awesome. :D
52:05 If I’m not wrong there’s 85 endings, so yeah…this game every choice does REALLY matter. English is not my first language so I don’t know if this is the right term but a lot of decision making games tells us that every choice matter and it’s not as true as Detroit Become Human. You haven’t play Wolf Among Us so I won’t spoil, that game is amazing too but there’s some choices that you feel that doesn’t reward you for playing like that. Detroit Become Human it’s the only game that I felt that everything I did really had an impact. I love this game so much, the pacing in some points is a little bit slower but the build up it’s amazing. The voice acting, storytelling, cinematography and score, everything is amazing.
I just subscribed and I love how smart you are, I hope you keep doing this well and gets the best ending. I’ve seen other CZcamsrs play this game and they always gets killed at least two of the main characters and gets the worse endings.
there's still not a certain number of all endings, but if you take into account all the flowcharts it can reach up to 100
@@fabiscate there’s 85 different endings that occur at the end of the game. Obviously you can die before then and it will count as an ending, but in the last chapter, there are 85 endings

It's wild when you think about it, but this game came in 2018 with God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 (my 2 favorite games), Spider-Man, Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter, and AC Odyssey. Hell, A Way Out and Shadow of Tomb Raider we're also good. 2018 is the best year in gaming, period
RDR2, Kingdom come and God of war are some my favorites games all came in 2018. I also played the Witcher 3 and Bloodbourne for the first time in 2018 which also so of my favourites. Spiderman and This were also great.

Kara's scene on the street with Alice hits me the hardest, I've had my share of scuffles and I've slept in parks near a college by myself as my choice that I can handle, but the prospect of having to look after a child and live on the street, terrifies me.

I love they got Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs*) to play Hank it was the perfect casting. I hate that Kara encounter with Todd it’s soooo very stressful. Edit: Nice job getting out of the House!!!

You know.. As someone who is in his late 20s, who is unemployed with no future and who doesn't have a family and no relationship or friendship with anyone outside the internet I feel mildly terrified of beeing killed off by some car just because it wants to save some useless kid from one or the other horrible generation.
You mentioned Westworld, but I would also recommend watching Humans. It's more similar to this game, where Androids are Human servants, but some breakaway from their code.
This game absolutely reminded me of Humans! It was a good show, too bad it canceled after the 3rd season and will never get an ending.

I've since watched 2 or 3 others of yours and now this one. In fact, when I did a search of "Detroit become human blind" and saw you pop up, I was delighted.
I just feel like your reactions are so sincere and your reasoning and logic and choices are often good, plus the way you talk aloud to figure things out or explain your opinions to things...but your reactions, those are the best. Seeing the emotion that a great story puts on a person's face.

Kara's deviance and escape is my favorite scene in the game. I was so hoping you would have gone for Tod's gun. I felt it had the most dramatic playout. ; )
Yeah the one with the gun was my first playthrough. Most intense so far.
It’s intense with the gun but I think the story plays out better without it (if you do find him at the checkpoint that is)

Unless there's been some pretty significant deflation in this future economy, $40 is extremely low for even a janky motel room. That's like a 1980s price. But now that I think about it, deflation could also explain why androids are so cheap.
It's because of the androids, in the first episode of this series when you are controlling Kara and going to watch TV there is a short segment where a presenter is talking about the economy. In short, androids make everything cheap.
I paid $60 for a basic motel room about 8 months ago during a cross country trip a few times but I get what you ate saying.

Fun fact, The voice actor of Hank actually voices Mr Krabs from Spongebob.
It’s more motion capture than voice acting in games like this now. But better yet, he’s Kurgan in Highlander. A film so bad it’s good, made excellent thanks to Queen doing the soundtrack. Clancy Brown is a great actor anyway, but his performance in this game is fantastic. No matter what direction it takes, you always buy into his relationship with Connor.
Even funnier fact: in the Italian dub they also used the same voice actor of our mr. Krabs, because fuck yeah
- There are more than just bad endings possible, entire storylines can abruptly end if one or all the main characters die. After you finish, you should check out videos of what happens if all characters are lost.
Really stoked to see you play this ! I think robots and artificial sentience are one of the most interesting near-soon real world topics out there.
Also, first season of Westworld was amazing. Still need to catch the rest. Just saw that they're making a fourth season now.

P.S. It’s crazy to imagine how close we are to the time period of this game (I think it takes place in 2035). Some of the inventions (innovations?) can very well be a thing when we get to 2030 and beyond 😅

I'm glad you're enjoying the game, it's one of the best games I've ever played. I highly recommend you go into the extras and watch the video Kara Tech demo it's a short little video about Kara's origin that came during the PS3 era after that short was made people were obsessed with it and wanted to know what happens after so the developers were inspired to make a whole game based off of it which became Detroit. You def should check it out in the extras Main Menu

lol totally love the look on peoples face when they push Leo not expecting what happens. And dang, you were so close to picking the right shelter for the best option with Alice. It was the house. You just had to continue the conversation with the crazy android at the house and you could have stayed there and learned a little more about Ra9 and get closer with Alice.

The clarity with which you play these games is always on display. You played the interrogation on point. Many people get confused because you are _supposed_ to stress him out but they think it's the opposite. The acting done for Ortiz's android, that whole scene when played right is so good. You really understand how a deviant feels and comes about.
I haven't watched Westworld but I think it's something I should check out.
Bravo on all your decisions. You are doing amazing. Btw, there is no "right" or "wrong" choice in this game. There are good and bad endings but this game is about the consequences of your actions, so it's your game to make. Excited to see more gameplay.
Carl is awesome. He really treats his android as a person, not just a tool. The contrast between Todd and Carl is made very clear. Seeing how Todd treats androids shows he has no humanity.

Love when at 41:00 you mention how much the androids like looking at themselves. It's interesting because there's a well known test as to whether a creature is more-or-less sentient by setting up a mirror in their environment. I'm no expert but I know one of the only creatures that will look at itself and understand what it's looking at is a dolphin. Haven't done a deep dive into the background of the study of this but I remember reading this. Maybe this explains why all the androids, when given the chance, look at themselves.

David Cage's games are like the modern day 'choose your own adventure' type medium, but with today's technology making them real time and interactive.
Which is also why I have always loved full on FMV games.
Ralph is an ok guy for a knife wielding maniac.
Took some time this morning to watch the first two episodes, so this comment kinda covers both of them.
I'm in the middle of this game myself (technically started it several years back and it got too intense for me so set it aside; this time I started from the beginning again)-trying to stay ahead of your episodes, lol-and this game more than Until Dawn feels like you can really skew gameplays in different directions.
I have a thing about androids. I've watched way too much Matrix in my life to have any sort of fond connotation to advanced, human-like AI. So being put in the shoes of android characters is interesting, especially in a game like this where I'm given some pretty free rein to approach the characters in a very sterile/mechanical way or in one that suggests/demands personality, right? And given my view of androids, that means I reaaaallly lean towards sterile/mechanical. Which is very different, obviously, from Cythetic's style. And it's amazing, just in these two episodes, how different our respective characters feel and how the storylines have diverged. (We're kinda close on Connor, Markus's leaving of Artist/Son is sooo different but I suspect we'll end up in a similar place when we pick up that storyline next ep, and uhhhhh... let's not talk about Kara.)
I'm not sure how much I like Detroit: Become Human of my own accord, but I love seeing the differences in my gameplay and Cynthetic's-especially given she's generally more in-tune with game worlds and storylines and characters and everything, really, than I am.
The only part I don’t like of blind runs of Detroit is that EVERYBODY goes with the abandoned house or car, they never try any of the more risky but more fun options
I did try the motel on my blind run ehehehe but I also had the gun from Todd (although I used Alice as a distraction to steal the money xD)

I know this is an old playthrough, but I’ve seen a good 40+ playthroughs of this game and have NEVER heard the conversation Kara can have with Alice in her room (when you were trying to go out the window) Guess this game is still full of surprises!
