- You can't call a review complete until you actually try casting on the water. I was super impressed with how well the spool was controlled with a wide range of bait weights and how smooth it reels under load. This is gonna be my go-to bait caster for the 2024 open water season for walleye, pike and bass.

Not a problem. It's a great improvement from the 2019 Tatula 100
I like those reels. My problem is the ergonomics. I had a Fuego CT. The brake dial is right where I want to put my finger and it annoys me. Wish they'd do something like they do with the Steez and kind of bury it in the side plate.
I have the Fuego and tatula CT as well and I don't like the ergonomics as well... greater caster tho. This new 100 frame is really comfortable! I used to get bruises from the old 103 frame not this one! I still accidentally touch the brake dial but not as much as the old frame
the brake dial at least feels incredibly solid
@@Ardeact that's very important and so when you set the brake to 6 it doesn't jump to 2!
Yes definitely better than some of other older Daiwa bait caster I've used
@@TTangOutdoors The brakes are superior in my opinion. The difference between each click is substantial. I usually go between 15 - 8
Just curious, have you caught anything real big with it yet?
Nothing real big yet. 5Lb bass and some 3lb walleye.

So you never have to adjust for different weights of lures? Just have to adjust brakes? Amazing
That's the beauty of the Daiwa Magforce braking system. For your general weight range from 1/8 to 2oz generally you don't need to touch the tension knob at all. That's why it's called the Zero Adjustor.
I just ordered this reel today, thinking about pairing it with the Daiwa Tatula XT 7 foot medium fast rod. Any thoughts on this combo?
Awesome! That is probably how I would pair it as well! The rod will help you cast decent distance. What do you plan to fish for with this combo?

I thought the reels were ok but I couldn't get any type of casting distance at all. And I've been using baitcasteing reels for over 30 yrs. I think lews makes the best in the business. Shimano s are nice but they are to overpriced and they don't last very long after a while you have to keep oiling them . On the diawa the thumbar kept sticking and I had to keep constantly putting oil in it. The lews reels cast further never any maintenance problems super smooth retrieves. I think these Japanese Korean Chinese companies are just garbage. I use American rod's and reel's now bad experiences with the foreign stuff.
I just laugh at your comment towards the end. Please tell me which bait caster is made in America????
And by the way Lew's is 100% made by Korean. Look up Doyo Korea. You probably wonder why the Doyo reels look exactly the same as Lews
