People not wiping their filthy laptops before sending it for repair makes no sense for me. How are you not embarrassed?
When you removed the capacitor the multimeter was reading around 120ohm resistance which is not normal ... something else was partially shorted
this guy is a troubleshooting machine ..but i don't like his way of fixing the problem .. most of the capacitors at the effected area need to be changed ..

It Looks Good?! Apart from a missing fan, water damage and a crack capacitor it's all fine!! 😂🤣😂🤣 It was only a matter of time before a Capacitor took it's revenge on you!!
I accidentally installed an electrolytic backwards in a negative voltage rail. Powered up the board and it exploded straight in my face 😂 Luckily it missed my eyes but it still scared the crap out of me.

And in this corner we have "another" Acer Nitro 5 gone bad. Good fix Sorin and good luck for this customer with no CPU/GPU fault. I did have a bad feeling though when I seen the 4 amp bolt of lightening, had me thinking the luck just left the building lol. Great videos as always and thanks for the upload. 👍👍
