There was a video from Project farm where he added motorkote to a lawnmower engine, removed the oil and replaced it with water. It ran for 1 hour, without seizing, and no real noticable signs of excessive wear.
It's been a long time since I've seen MotorKote. First heard of it on America's Trucking Network here in Cincinnati on 700 Wlw. Mr.Motorkote would come on once a week on Sunday nights and talk to the radio host. Truck drivers would call in to give their testimonials after using on their trucks. I used it on the S10 once years ago and it was expensive to me back then. $25 a quart! I have think you can add it every other oil change since it has great clinging properties. Your experiment has proved it's not a snake oil. When the Marvel is gone, I'll pick up some again.
This video impressed me so much I immediately went and grabbed some because…well, why the hell not? It would be cool to see a video with this test comparing the effects of Motorkote on all the different top oils you recommend like Pennzoil Ultra, Valvoline High Mileage, Redline, etc.
as always thanks for the video rich so thankful to have a knowledgeable guy like yourself in here producing great videos that will actually help us out
I have been using Motorkote for 5 years. The enclave has 130k now and runs smooth, the Kia has 110k and also smooth. On a fresh oil change, it actually makes about 1mpg increase without special driving, and the engine is noticeably more quiet. I use 3 oz per quart. I also use it in the squeeze can for general purpose lubrication where oil is used around the house.
Great job Rich,, I've heard nothing BUT good about motorkote.. and I got some BUT I have not pulled the trigger BUT after this I'm going to start using it.. thanks for the information..
Used motorkote to get rid of cold start piston slap on an 6.0 LS. Got the truck and it slapped like a diesel, put Mobil1 in ran for 2 weeks still slapped. Poured in half a bottle of motorkote on the way home, next morning on start up it was quite like a normal startup. Been using it in everything I own since. The project farm video was what last me to motorkote btw.
Will definitely use Motorkote, recently wanted to start using a good oil addictive for my cars that are goink to hit 100k. Thank you for your video's and research.
been using it on my yaris since project farm made a video about it... makes my car feel like brand new, even use it on the AT tranny, make casually 42-46mpg in highway speeds, depending on traffic.
When I put motor coat in any of my lawnmowers or any of my personal vehicles, literally the motor becomes completely silent while it’s running love the stuff
Love your channel, man! I am learnimg a LOT!!! I was wonderimg if you had ever done a test like this with Duralube. I was wondering if it is legit or snake oil...
Reminds me of the 1988 test with ProTec. Got 20% boost in MPG and boost in idle in the 1985 ToyotaTercel . Got a 33% boost with only ProTec. Don't know the weight of it. Used in the 95 Avolon and 2 Toro lawnmowers.
Used motorkote in a 16 Ford focus with manual transmission since new. It's in engine and transmission. Use lucus fuel additive in fuel too. 315k miles on car and it still runs great . It's not running like new but it does start easy on cold days in Minnesota . Does motorkote or lucus work ? Not sure 🤔
I have been running it in my commuter chevy cruze eco 6 speed for about 100k miles in the engine oil and transmission aswell and its shifts so much smoother its night and day so far no sludge build up or anything i changec my valve cover 10k ago all looked clean
What would you run in your truck @FordBossme prolube or motorkote ? I seen in the last video on the prolube test you didn’t really do it like you did on this video
I’d be curious to see if you change the oil without cleaning the metal parts if the MotorKote sticks to the parts and keeps lubricating? I’ve been told some of these “additives” will bond to metal components..
Maybe yourer not supose to but I actually put some motorkote in my gas tank every fill up about 1 ounce for 15 gallons. and another thing about the engine restore has very small particles that can pass through the oil filter same as the additive package in any pcmo. The particles size is what allows them to do what theyre supose to like calcium, boron, zddp, magnesium, sometimes molybdenum etc. i did hear about people that the restore messed up certain types of variable valve systems so do look that up at your discretion for your application but for the most part it should be ok to use.
I run Motorkote in my turbo 4cylinder, and manual 6 speed I’ve added it various friends and families cars whenever I have some My greatest curiosity is what would it do for a high speed grease like red and tacky in a wheel bearing? I wouldn’t want to add more than a few drops. but I really wonder how it would affect the bearing’s performance? How would it affect the longevity of the grease? Would it cause a short term increase in efficiency in exchange for decreased bearing life due to a change in the grease’s properties?
Hmm. I use engine restore in my Toyota 4cyl (1ZZFE) Every other oil change, have since 70K it now has 159k, change oil every 3000-3500 miles. Should probably sell it and get something else
Has anyone done the bearing test with oil and motorkote after it was run in a vehicle for 3000 miles or more? Test the longevity of its lubrication ability
I can't seem to buy this in Asia. The nearest to ship is Australia. Even then the shipping cost a bomb. By the time it arrives here in my country, the final price would cost me 4 oil changes.... 😥😥
I can I mean it's just not the time for that right now because if you're going to use the product it's because you're either trying to make something last more or you've got a problem I can talk a little bit about that maybe remind me sometime here in the next week
@@77GR1982 I did a deeper dive since this post. After seeing the Cummins engine, they disassembled running coats. I am convinced I will definitely not be using it. The acidity is much too high and it ruined that poor engine, but it did take a long time. Running around it unfortunately with the acidity that takes place in an internal combustion engine. Chlorine is great for machining.
i bought MotorKote about a year ago just to kill my curiosity....what a complete waste of money...made no difference at all on the engine operating conditions...the only oil additive i ever remember making a difference on the engine quietness and functioning was the Slick 50...i heard they are not the same these days so i don`t waste any money on these scam additives anymore...just change the oil every 4 to 5 K with a good quality oil and you will have a good engine for a looooooong time...

Where is the FR3 review you spoke of, can you add it to the play list?
I remember Project Farm being impressed with MotorKote.
Dry start on the first run, and counting inconsistencies aside, this was a very impressive demonstration of MotorKote
Incredible product. Have been using over 10 years in 3 diffetent cars and have never experienced an engine problem. Go MotorKote!!
Same here. I also saw an improvement in mpg.
There was a video from Project farm where he added motorkote to a lawnmower engine, removed the oil and replaced it with water. It ran for 1 hour, without seizing, and no real noticable signs of excessive wear.
Wow, I’d be very tempted to send motorkote to speed diagnostics for a analysis. Thanks for running this test.

Yep, now it retails for almost $33 a quart.. Although AMAZON has it for around $30, great stuff nonetheless 👍
I have been running this in my motorcycles for years and it is amazing!

What year and engine does your Kia have? I have a 2012 Sonata 2.4l and I’m wondering if using the motorkote would help with the bearing issue.
@@6atlantis it is a 2017 sportage with the 2.4 DI DOHC.
Well, that is very revealing! I'm sold!
The machine spun with metal on metal contact with no lubricant at the beginning of the test. Seems like that would affect visible wear.
Great job Rich,, I've heard nothing BUT good about motorkote.. and I got some BUT I have not pulled the trigger BUT after this I'm going to start using it.. thanks for the information..
I need to start running this stuff again. Damnit 😆 🤣
I started also when they were on 700 WLW truckin network on my snow plow trucks. Cold starts were the best.

I bought a jug of that and haven't used it yet. Forgot on my last Jeep 4.0 oil change. will make sure i get some in there soon 🙂
I just bought some of this stuff. I have been putting in my lawnmower..
Thank you for an honest review. I knew pro lube altered their test because motorkote is a superior product!

TVT GREEN OIL ADDITIVE, Try that Stuff. See how Many Weight's it takes to Stall it out?? And try some CERMA 5W30 Premium OIL. You'll Be Impressed.

The bad thing about motorkote is that it contains chlorinated paraffins. They do work, but can turn acidic in your engine= not good!
NOT TRUE.., that’s just FALSE PROPAGANDA!!
Just need to change your oil more often
Is it really a problem if you change your oil regularly like you're supposed to anyway though?
I'd ask on Bob is the oil guy
What would you run in your truck @FordBossme prolube or motorkote ? I seen in the last video on the prolube test you didn’t really do it like you did on this video
Where did you get your lubrisity machine? Thanks for any info.
Is there an oil additive with a specific oil you recommend for daily use?
I’d be curious to see if you change the oil without cleaning the metal parts if the MotorKote sticks to the parts and keeps lubricating?

I Think you could get a similar result mixing Dish soap in with our oil, lol.
I'm waiting for "The Motor Oil Geek" (Lake Speed Jr.) to take a look at this stuff.
Ok?
🙏

Just stick to a high quality synthetic oil.
Boss, can you maybe talk about when you use these products? Is it mileage or sounds or both or what??? Your thoughts please.

@@FordBossMe you got it brother, thank you for your time!
According to motorkote their oil can only be removed with sanding.
I’ve been hearing about sludge from the chlorine that’s in this product overtime in an engine?
NOT TRUE
