  • Here is a nice and loud video of an MD88 (N917DL) takeoff from Dayton, OH. This is aircraft was retired on June 2, 2020 at 32.2 years old. Its last to flights were Sarasota to Atlanta (DL2247) and finally Atlanta to Blytheville (DL9763) and was one of the last in a group of 7 to make their final flight that day. The Pratt & Whitney JT8D-200 series jet engines on these are crazy loud and are actually band st some airports! This is seat 34E. So enjoy this final Mad Dog now that it has been completely retired .       Thanks for watching! This bird actually is still flying today at 32 years old, but will most likely cease operation by next month!

      crazyjdkid No problem! I know, it’s crazy! The final flight is DL80 from IAD to ATL on June 2

    Man you have to ride one of these things to see how loud they are. I happened to fly two of them recently and WOW they are louder on the ground than an A321neo taking off.

      Yes, they are extremely loud 8n the back! But up front they are very comfortable, especially with the 2-3 layout
