- Part 1 of our adventure in making an inexpensive DIY straight pipe exhaust for a 987.2 Cayman S from parts purchased on Ebay. In this part we mock up the exhaust, do some cutting, and I take a shot at welding for the first time ever. Finish up with a little test drive with the partially completed exhaust to make the noise.

I love this. All the other videos that make the "straight pipe" claim are total shams.

Sounds great!
Thanks! Ill add more bees next time
had this done on my cayman 3,4 s - had to remove it as the drone at 2500-3000 rpm on the highway was so bad!
You're right it does drone a bit. Probably track day and when I feel like being obnoxious use only
I see you didnt remove the headers..WHY ??
Amazing…..❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
What size tube did you guys use? Any recommended sellers on ebay for the piping kit?
2.25 Diameter tube, same as Borla uses. I just went with the cheapest seller as I wasnt planning on running the exhaust full time.
Have you considered adding an x-pipe at the exhaust tip?
what are the benefits of an X pipe? curious
Sorry for the late reply as Im not getting notifications of comments...we ended up adding x-pipe in the follow up video!
Should balance out pressure between the banks. Theoretically I think that it may add in exhaust scavenging
Congrats....youve managed to turn it into a 3000 lb lawnmower
