  • Thank you for watching this gameplay video for Sterns Orbitor 1 pinball machine.
Orbitor 1 is the only pinball machine with a 3-dimensional playfield. Its playfield is made of formed plexiglass instead of wood. Underneath the plexiglass is a vacuformed moon landscape. This creates the illusion that the ball is 'orbiting' the landscape.
For an interesting read on its background, check out www.flippers.be....
Or visit Orbitor 1's entry on the Internet Pinball Database at www.ipdb.org/ma....

The pin that breaks all the rules of conventional tables, and maybe a few laws of physics.
Every pinball fan should play it at least once, if only for the novelty.

Such a unique table design. Looks like a lot of fun.

I like how you can get the ball right back into action when it loops around the flipper.. it throws you off because you are expecting a drain when it gets below the flipper and it circles around right into shooting position lol

A lot of people consider this a novelty that loses it's luster after a single play. I firmly disagree. I believe orbitor 1 should randomly be thrown into competition. and i eagerly await Stern's Orbitor 2

From experience with the table, the game is pretty much chaos.
I was very good at it, but that kind of felt like luck.

I'd love for Pinball FX to create a table that warps the playfield like this during some modes / features....god knows it would be impossible (surely) to do this on a normal table...

It's unfortunate that Stern chose to make the slingshots passive. Imagine how much crazier gameplay would have been with active slings.

Saw this game at Next Level Pinball and this was probably the most unique game/one that caught my eye the most out of all of them they had there.
Sadly the novelty of it wears off extremely fast. Shame that it was produced in the '80s, could have made for an interesting play if it had more elements to it. The table was also not in super good condition.

Nope. This is a game you watch play itself. Not much control with the flippers. And honestly, this thing was always breaking down. It spent more time turned off than actually getting played. It didn't spend much time in my local arcade.
