This isn't a spoiler coz it doesn't reveal any story, but it's something to look out for; Sid shows up in the third movie as a background character, dumping garbage cans into a garbage truck. The reason I bring it up is that he seems to be pretty happy. He's listening to music on headphones, dancing along and tapping on the garbage cans like drums. When we saw him in this movie, he was a troubled kid with neglectful parents, expressing his creativity in a way that involved cruelty. The fan theory is that he got "scared straight" after learning the toys are sentient, and he started "rescuing" discarded toys to restore and "enhance", eventually leading to him working for sanitation so he has access to *all* the discarded toys.

This film describes actually one interesting historical aspect quite well. I would say that the setting of this movie gets a place in 1960s. Before 1960s TV-shows, movies and toys took inspiration from the Wild West. But after USA launched its space program, everything space related like astronauts replaced the source of inspiration.

Woody wasn't intended to push Buzz out of the window, THAT was an accident. He intended to push Buzz behind the drawer so he would get stuck there and nothing more. Sure, it's a bit of jerk move but consindering that Woody had lost everything and he wanted to have Andy to bring with him to Pizza Planet so badly he was a bit desperate, which we can sympathize with.
In an earlier version (which was shown of what the Pixar crew called it "Black Friday") had Woody through Buzz out of the window on purpose and did barely react to the other toys' objetions until they start attack him, and that made him very unlikeable (he was made a jerk in earlier drafts as Jeffery Katzenberg wanted the movie to be more edgier, more for adults).

One of my favorite moments is when Sid's patched-together toys put Buzz back together again. It's a nice little illustration about judging by appearances.
This was the first full-length computer-animated movie. The folks at Pixar could have relied just on that to attract an audience. Instead, they created a great story with great characters and character development. That's why it holds up so well 27 years later.
