I accidentally double geussed a yellow spot in wordle today. Just had a brain fart and didn't realize I did it until after I put it in. Haha!: INLAY, PLATE, SABLE, LASER.
On connections, I got the purple category second. Idk how. I was REALLY unsure about kitty, but I've heard it before only remembering it had something to do with gambling. I got basement first. So its almost like we had opposite solves today. Haha.
I had a cat named shadow when I was a kid. So I definitely saw cat names in there but was pretty sure that was a red herring. Lol.
I also put cross on 6 across and i did not know cigar. It messed me up for a second, but the downs corrected it for me. I think cross is a better answer to that clue than angle. Just saying...

Holy moly you got the theme in strands so quickly! I'm almost annoyed. It was the first thing I thought of but like I just couldnt see or think of any words. This one took me at least five minutes. I think you did it in close to one. I got mage and bard first. Then rogue. And knight stumped me for an embarrassingly long time. I somehow didnt see assassin. Or rather, I think i just struggled to spell both sorcerer and assassin. Lol.

Connection: got it with 1 to spare
Mini: got it without needed any help first time
Strands: first time playing was super fun

I thought today's Connection was one of the easiest in quite some time.
I did really well on the mini. I got it in 1.33 which I thought was really good because lately I had been taking about 3 1/2 minutes.
I struggled with Strands and never really understood the category but I did get it all without using any hints.
I was able to solve all but Stands. I just stared at it and didn't even attempt it. I was impressed by your quick solve.

If you are sitting in a group i a pub rather than each person in turn buying everyone a drink ( the UK's round system) then people can contribute to a pile of cash on the table and drinks are bought with that money - which would be termed a kitty.

It’s not an actual holiday but 420 refers to WEED (Cannabis) so some folks take the day off on April 20th to go smoke or eat it via sweets.
Fun fact: Weed is referred as 420 due to some Highschool students in the 1970’s used it as a code word to designate where and what time they’d meet up to smoke
