The "Oh god is that a Brick?!" really ties this whole thing together!
i was going to say just that same thing lol. it was perfect!
+
I read this comment at the beginning of the video, and still was not ready for how good that line was
Yes it's called a punchline
Just a throwaway-joke...
Did...did he just put a scope...on a brick.
A brick that, by his account, has aimbot and thus will never miss and thus doesn't need any form of user-based aim-assist.
Ingenius.
The scope isn't for accuracy, it's for extending the range
Everyone knows if you put a scope on a weapon, it causes the projectile exist for far longer before it phases out of our dimension.
@@SkandiTV Did this to my shovel. Whit the scope i can sid on the sofa und dig in my garden. Genius solutions for fools like me.
Scope adds +3 range.
Did he use the new workbench animations when he upgraded the brick?
Damn can’t believe you guys actually got Joel and Ellie to play in your video. Even more impressive is that you got Brick to star is this!
And Brick totally crushed it too! As always.
really lent some mass to the performance. classic Brick
'Oh my God, is that a brick?'
- Famous last words
This is one of the best acted one's I've seen. Allison's intonation is amazing.
yes the acting in this one was damn good
+
Matt and Allison are both incredible actors. Really hope to see them act together in more skits
Both knocked it out of the god damn park
And costume design! They both actually looked like the characters!
Everyone's talking about the "Is that a brick?", part, but my favorite is "I've been doing this for 20 years, and I've yet to meet a SOB with the wherewithal to duck" (0:43). That one killed me.
Did it hit you.... like a brick?
Mark my words, "Oh my god, is that a brick?!" will be Door Monster's Wilhelm Scream
I'm into it
Are you saying the brick joke should be a brick joke?
I hope this makes it into community comments

@@ArifRWinandar perfection
"what if there aren't any bricks?"
"now i know you'll probably wanna panic. but don't worry- empty glass bottles will do just as good."
"what if there aren't any bottles either?"
"that's what we call a nightmare scenerio."
No bricks AND no bottles? Now that just doesn't happen. Why, they're more plentiful than the infected... somehow. Kinda unsettling when you think about it.
@@thetaintedbear4557 Maybe the true mastermind was in plain sight all along.
Yeah, until you get the shotgun 🎉🎉🎉
@@thetaintedbear4557 Tbf it is literally trash. Trash is plentiful in the apocalypse
"I'm sorry to say this Ellie, but in that case, we would have to resort to fighting with our bare firearms"
I humbly request a full video of Matt Locke wistfully playing "Living Forever."
I second this
You mean Joel
I third this
Motion has passed. All in favor say "I"!
I!
That Ellie cosplay in both voice and look was absolutely spot on hot damn.
I didn't recognise Allison at first it was that good
I like how Ellie doesn’t question Joel’s instructions and the value of a brick at all.
She's seen them in action, the power, the awe
She's lived this reality her whole life.
once you see someone kill their 30th armed adversary in an afternoon... you stop asking questions you dont absolutely have to.
Matt's delivery on the "I'm a monster, I'm a really bad man" especially was really funny followed up immediately by that deadpan "yeah" from Allison lmao
"I'm gonna go out there and be an absolute psychopath" Huh, I didn't know Matlock remembered what he thought just before he was born.
I've got to echo the sentiment that the acting in this one was just phenomenal. Both leads embody their characters in a super recognizable way that really facilitates the parody, and it's all tied up nicely with the usual sharp-as-nails Door Monster script. Seriously, you guys don't miss with these. Also, the last line was simply 😙🤌 magnificent
Just the "oh god is that brick?" Its delivered in such a deadpan way lol
Fun fact, the only enemy that isn't extremely weak to bricks are Bloaters. Everything else you can take out pretty easily by just tossing those heavy solidified chunks of clay like a madman
Yes I saw someone who beat the game on the hardest difficulty without using guns. The bloater fights took ages to figure out a solution.
@@fearedjames what did you do?
When it's the end of the world, machines are the not the only things that get "bricked!"
Matt playing Living Forever at the end was the icing I didn't know I needed on this hilarious and wonderful cake.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
“Oh god is that a brick?”
There's something in the cinematography, the dim lighting, the close up angle, the make-up, the graveled voice, and ambiant music that somehow conveys this deep sadness permeating through the game. I think this is a masterpiece of comedic storytelling while still capturing the original game's essence. ofc that JP cover at the end is just powerful enough to make me shed tears. Well done lads.
Exactly my thoughts! I thought for a second I was back in the original game. Such awesome directing, filming and editting
Almost sounds like Nicholas Cage as Joel. But in a good way. And Ellie is spot on.
OH MY GOD. That line, "I've been doing this for twenty years and have yet to meet a single sumbitch with the wherewithal to duck." My freakin' gosh, that line is golden. The script writer on this one was ON FIRE, because the whole thing was just fire but that one really got the chuckles rolling!
Incredibly well acted; y'all did absolutely brilliant with Joel and Ellie. Like, seriously. Both actors knew what they were doing and they did it well. On top of that, the atmosphere was absolutely stunning, really capturing the original games vibe. So, like. All around great work with the vibe of a very polished fan film that just so happens to be a skit about bricks.
They're from Texas, which is where Joel's from - I'm sure the accent comes pretty easily, at least!
I appreciate that the ending song is in the acoustic style reminiscent of the last of us ^^
I need a full video/cover immediately!
And it's the same song too!
"I like to crush their skulls, personally."
Fitting.
This was classic Door Monster, loved it!
Y'all did a great job making Matt Locke look old and grimy. I appreciate that.
i laughed waaaaay too hard at ethan going "oh god is that a brick?"
For the record - Allison is a great "We have Ashley Johnson at home."
The good old brick and shiv method, never fails
There's hot, and then there's the Texas Garage In Summer kind of hot. Hats-off to you guys, hope you had a mop handy!
I know nothing about this game but the sketch was still funny. That tells you two things:
1. It's a good sketch
2. It's from Door Monster.
1 is implied from 2
@@bugdracula1662 it's true!
Amazing he didn't get choked up, passing down the brick is the proudest day in every father's life
Man I know they said they where updating the graphics but the looks real like two real people talking to each other
Amazing video
Now that (probably CGI) brick at the end really flew
All right I need to know who sold those soul for makeup effects that good.
I’m impressed how he defeated the garage door opener with such ease
always good to see Matt Locke
The acoustic guitar version of "Living Forever" was *chef's kiss*
"oh god is that a brick" fuckin perfect
I swear you guys have unlocked the cheat codes to humor, I don't think I've ever finished one of your videos without at least chuckling, and usually just straight up laughing out loud. Thanks for supplying my daily dose of mirth!
"Oh god, is that a brick?!?" Perfect closing line
Bravo! My congratulations to the writers and performers.
And a hearty shout out to the cameraman
Welp, I know who to call when the apocalypse happens. Not because of the brick, per se, but because that guitar playing will go so nicely in the wastelands as we cross it to find bricks.
Props to the guitar at the end. Nice
Props for the outro theme on the acoustic guitar there. Perfectly fit 😉👌
The guitar at the end was a nice touch
"I'm gonna go out there and be an absolute psychopath" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I never played the game but I understood the joke, well done ! Also nice guitar play at the end !
I really gotta applaud the costuming/makeup/whatever: You guys really nailed the look.
The actress playing Ellie is SPOT ON
Okay but that outro tune was top tier.
Always loved how the bricks just disintegrated on contact
Is that the same guy who was running Venice? His acting is so good here.
Lovely acoustic cover of the outtro music.
We need "Oh God, is that a brick?" as a sound effect.
Another Door Monster classic. Been loving the new wave of sketches.
Aw darn, I was hoping someone was gonna get bricked on camera. Not real, of course, but you know. Don't need any of the DM crew with a broken schnoz.
That guitar song reminds me of crafting halls in LOTRO.
This came at me like a brick or something.
This is actually my mindset when playing this game, Bricks>Bottles>Melee weapons>Guns
A madman with a rifle and baseball bat starts running towards and yet they react to the brick with panic.
They know the real threat here.
Wherewithal is such a great word
I've watched this 4 times now and still lose it at,
"Oh my God, is that a brick?!"
Im just imagining a society where instead a leader being desided by military power or whatever, its all determined by how many bricks you got.
I proper laughed when the brick with the scope came out... Very funny, kudos
For a solid 8 seconds I thought they got Ashley Johnson to be in this XD So good
bricks carried me through grounded mode
I am delighted, scrolling down, that "oh god is that a brick?!" has immediately become a smash-hit success.
Hilarious as always, the scope is a nice touch!
I honestly think this might be some of your best work to date.
The guitar playing at the end was fantastic
Enrico Dandolo, once again flexing his riches by imparting a wealth of knowledge on young Ellie.
This is my favorite ever. I love it so much. Thank you. Everyone did an amazing jo- oh god is that a brick?!
*THUNK!*
Did.. Did Ellie just threw the brick at Joel?
Okay, to stop Kyle from saying nobody caught it, I'm going to (attempt to) point out that the area outside the garage got digitally manipulated.
That was just wonderful, thank you guys:)
That was fantastic and I really loved the brick with a scope
anybody else want a good like 5 minute video of the guitar playing? that was really nice.
None of this is factually inaccurate. I love it.
Alison as Ellie is amazingly good casting
The camera work and the slightly exaggerating facial expressions NAILED the cutscene look wow.
Props to Ellie actress, thought this was actually Ashley Johnson at first
Nice rendition of living forever
"sneak through" - starts charging
Bricks and bears. The end all and be all of Door Monster.
The brick got way faster as it left her hand because it can't miss and started heading straight for the nearest nose it could find
Favorite skit to date. Love you guys
Bricks were banned by the geneva convention. Its the article under forcing someome to eat without a table
Costumes were on point for this one.
"It's over Abby! I filled the whole backstage of this theater with bricks!"
I cant believe it when Joel said" it's bricking time" and started kill people all over.
I think the soldiers and the goo plants are The special effects on this one xD hopefully I got it right
No witty comment to make. This was just awesome. Thanks Door Monster!
I'm so glad people are still making tlou content like this (also that last line killed me)
Brick with the scope was an excellent touch!
This joke would work just as well in the new Hitman games. There's a clip of an npc on a jetski being chased by a fire extinguisher for ten minutes.
Staring, Matt as "Joel", Allison as "Ellie", and Brick as himself.
Ain't no rest for the wicked.
