- Zeppole Donuts are rolled in sugar with a melt-in-your-mouth center. These Italian donut holes are simple to make and always disappear fast.

►8 Tbsp unsalted butter
►1 tsp granulated sugar
►1/4 tsp salt
►1 cup all-purpose flour

I grew up in Calabria Italy, my mom and Nonna made these by hand without a quick fryer at "Carnevale" also known as Mardi Gras, we called them Frittelle Di Carnevale. The recipe is of course the Zeppole recipe which is used for the now-famous Zeppole di San Giuseppe. St. Joseph Day - March 19th. Zepolle are usually traditionally made witha a yeast dough! This dough seems more like a churro batter. It does look yummy though!
