    You really don’t need the Velcro. It’s a very secure design.

    I suspect that when we first tighten the head unit screws they eventually wear away the paint below them and creates a gap. I had the same thing happen and saw some paint flake out when I re-tightened. It's been great for me, too!

    I really respect what Apollo has done here, in terms of innovation. Rather than joining the other manufacturers & trying to get these things to 200km/h, they seem to be focused on making scooters better. They finally put a proper kickstand on it & put the charge port near the stem & they've continued to use the regen braking which I really love. The IP66 rating is something the industry should have adopted by now & I'm glad Apollo took the lead. The puncture-resistant tires (and their 12" size) are a huge plus. I find I need to change my 10" tires around 1500 kms at most & that can get annoying. It really should have *slightly* more speed/power. My '23 Phantom has all the power I need & I'd definitely upgrade range before I'd seek more power, but for more than double the price, it seems a bit odd to have the same motors - especially with the very fierce competition out there in top speed/range. It also looks like it has the same 1000lumen headlight that's on the Phantom. From experience, that's "be seen", not "see in the dark" brightness so riding at night, I'd mount something brighter with some stank on it. I do wonder how the Pro's dual suspension feels compared with the Phantom's quadruple.
    So far, the handgrips are the only thing I see that I'd replace immediately.
    Please don't take this as an insult, it's only my observation which means nothing to anyone reading this - but the body and front display are really ugly - the body should have a more sleek look, like maybe a tubular frame like the Nami Burn E 2 Max but it ends up looking like a messed-up rectangle, like cheap 80's furniture. The surround lighting is also decidedly tacky. Maybe it makes sense on the stem, but on the floor, it just looks like a kid's toy. Finally, the big, rectangular headstock/gooseneck looks chunky & cheap.
    I've got a '22 Ghost and a '23 Phantom & I'm likely upgrading them in the spring. I want to stay with Apollo but I haven't decided yet. Regen braking is a huge draw for me, as well as supporting a Canadian company. At twice the price though, I don't see THAT much value over the Phantom.
    Thanks for a quick look at the scooter, so far the reviews are good - just nothing that really critiques it yet. There are many pundits who just moan erotically over it so they get free gear - it's good to have a real-world look at it.

      Style is subjective, for me this thing looks absolutely gorgeous, and it is way better in real than any videos or photos may suggest.

    • @NunchucksHabit
      @NunchucksHabit Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@vwbora26 Most of it does look great, but that square, Stalin-esque gooseneck (from the front/side) looks particularly thrown-together. My '23 Phantom could be subject to the same ugly stick in another person's pov so I'm not the ultimate judge.
      As I consider other brands/models, two things about this scooter stand out as "best in show" for me: the tires are ideal & the regen braking, now that I've got 800 kms on my Phantom, is my new favorite thing. The Nami Burn-E 2 Max is more my 'style', which is to say less-refined & utilitarian. That said, the Pro is superior to all my "second choices" in everything but power/range. Appreciate the video, merci!
      Oh, and if you're ridden the Apollo Phantom (2023), could you comment as to how its suspension compares to the Pro? I only upgraded from a '22 Ghost (my first e-scooter) & the suspension on the Phantom, while kind of bulky, has been SO smooth. I'd imagine the Pro is quite a bit sportier feeling.

      Will those scooters last until 50k miles? Apollo engine rated to last until 140k miles then go for replacement. ???

    • @ecod7r
      @ecod7r Před 9 měsíci

      my point is, how reliable or durable they are? if I do 50k miles or more will they shut down? is Apollo pro the best scooter that can manage this level of usage without any fault? this is the real winner here, and not speed.@@vwbora26

    I do think the Apollo pro is a bit over hyped and not just because everyone else is over hyped. The difference between a $3500 dualtron scooter and the Apollo pro is night and day. You get WAYYY more bang for your buck with those other brands. However, that is not to discount how brilliant the Apollo pro is. It does come jam pact with so much modern technology that is simply not available anywhere else. I am a pure sucker for the cyber punk look so I REALLY want this scooter. Good to know it still performs well after so many km of riding.

    • @NunchucksHabit
      @NunchucksHabit Před 9 měsíci +1

      I'm on the same boat as you in many ways. It's tough to get honest, brand-agnostic comparisons with so many cheerleader-channels looking for free gear. I'm considering the Dualtron as well, but also do find value in knowing I can contact Apollo & have something proprietary shipped to me in 2 days or less.
      What Apollo did right here is the tires & regen-braking system & the IP66 water/dust resistance - from what I've read so far, it's industry-leading & that deserves extra investment. The exhaustive testing is something you don't see in such a thriving, growing, standards-free industry. Most companies are just sourcing & assembling parts. I've got the Pro's predecessor, the 2023 Phantom (about 900kms into it) - and the Pro is quite a bit larger, something I didn't know until I saw another video on this channel. I still haven't heard from anyone that has both, which one has the best suspension system. I'm assuming it's the Pro, but with about a billion videos out there, all we get are stats & very few comparative assessments. The controller in the Pro is going to limit the battery/motor performance towards longevity. It's got the same battery pack & bigger motors than heavier performance scooters & yet its range & top speed are what seems to be 30% less. Could be a battery cooling feature, could be because they have to stand by their scooter rather than just selling it & forgetting it.
      The Nami Burn E-2 has two 1000W motors (Apollo Pro has two 1200W motors), yet the Nami is slightly faster & considerably better *claimed* range. Nami's approach is to apparently demand more from the battery pack. It seems like Apollo is holding back. Not saying 70km/h isn't more than fast enough for me, but with 12" wheels rather than the 10" ones I'm on now, for over twice the price, there's no reason 90km/h or 100km/h rather than the 70km/h it's claimed for shouldn't be available. Maybe a "Pro2" is in the works, maybe a firmware update, upon signing a warranty waiver, could punch out another 10km/h & better range at the expense of the battery's lifespan.

    Loctite is your friend. I use it on all of my PEV's to ensure that all screws stay where they are installed, and don't come loose. Screws coming loose is normal on scooters since they travel over rough surfaces, and the bouncing shakes the screws loose over time.

    I would imagine that velcro band would make the stem less safe not more. Imagine that band slides down and the pressure from you pulling on the stem presses against the latch release while you're riding. I can not see any sense on having that there it offers no support what so ever

    • @vwbora26
      @vwbora26  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Assuming is what people do on the internet, I tested what you are saying of course, the orange release button requires quite some force to unlatch, the velcro is in no way capable of that, I check it out, and also it prevent the latch from opening anyways.

    Awesome to hear positive things on it :)
    I purchased it and then realized that most people on reddit hate Apollo because of their older models issues, which made me consider refunding my indiegogo purchase
    Plus they seem to have improved their QC? Idk, I haven't seen any reddit complain about new models, I currently own a City 2023 and it's going strong still after 300km, I hope this new QC will be the same for the Pro
    Also i've read countless comments from people on the escooter subreddit whine about the price but yeah I agree with them, $5000 cad is very overpriced but imo the pre order price I paid for was just right so its whatever to me idc
