  • Motorcycle crash protection, including crash bar engine guards, skid plates, engine case covers, and more, are some of the first pieces of gear new motorcycle riders look to put on their bike. This is because protecting your motorcycle in the event of an accident is key. In this video, Twisted Throttle focuses on crash bars and how engine guards can vary in build and shape.

Tiger 800. Power enough to ride 2 up with gear yet nimble enough to move around easily enough off road. I own a 2013 (with a fair bit of Motech parts including the crash bars) so I might be a little biased.

will the sw motech crash bar for the bmw g310gs protect the upper body, as in it won't let it touch the ground?

Having owned a KLR650 (1999), I wasn't going to say that. As much as I'd love to state my current bike - a 2017 Yamaha FJ-09 - the best/honest answer would be a BMW R1200GS Adventure. If a BMW is good enough for Mila Jovovich (Resident Evil movies), it's good enough for me.

RE the Zombi bike, Everbody likes the carbonated, magneto sparked, air cooled bike that will survive an EMP, But lately, I've bee thinking a modern bike with an 8K mile maintenance schedule might be a better option and something that need new oil every other ride?

Lets be clear on something though, stainless steel absolutely rusts, it just takes longer than other forms of steel. It's even in the name, it's called stain less, it's not called doesn't stain.

Zombie bike, that's funny. I personally own three KTMs, 1290. 690 and 250 none of which would remotely be even close in that situation. lol. any 20 year old none electronic carb bike would be a winner. As for crash protection, I wish some one would design and manufacture a system to protect the big KTM. Everything currently available is complete POOP, HAD TO MAKE MY OWN!
