Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

That would also be cheating because they're basically just magnets but on contact.
Realistically speaking even a small aircraft carrier has arresting cables, my thought was to use the power coupling and a hook on the plane.
It’s a good idea, but the power couplers only have collisions where they connect to each other.
@@ChevyTech68 dang I forgot that. Can't see any way to recreate arresting cables accurately
haven't downloaded trail makers to my new PC yet so I haven't played around with the newer stuff

Barn Swallow: Intense Waves, jump a boat off the swell, swallow it with a cargo plane with an open nose approaching from the rear, close nose, fly away.

Without being technical, I'm referring to the crest of a wave. And yes, definitely complicated as it will be of a similar difficulty as their infamous car catch off a cliff, except they have a number of game updates and additional control parts since then.

I had another stunt idea, similar to how you caught a car jumping off a ramp, you could try to catch a boat jumping off a wave with a plane as well!
i like how it looks. And scrapman talks keeping speed at 50... and Yzuei takes 50 mph :D
You guys should build an airplane that flies in a circle on its own. Then each of you build subs with catching mechanisms and jump out of the water to see who could catch the plane first!
15:20 Feels like a perfect opportunity to have the face of Charles Darwin here rather than ScrapMan lol, still a really fun edit regardless
A cool carrier idea would be a power coupling acting as a catching cord for the vehicle. You could attach each side to the carrier with suspension so it has resistance to the plane with a bit of give.
Unfortunately the power coupling doesn't have collision anywhere but the ends, but I like the idea.

I am kinda confused cus Scrap said friction pads would help with the bouncing when Yzuei suggested to not use then. Like friction pads give horizontal friction, not vertical. It wouldn't have changed anything about the bouncing

I think you should have put the friction pads on the back and turn the damping up and the spring rate down. Or no suspension

i think itd be really cool if you tried making a zveno carrier with yzuei. it was a experimental russian aircraft aircraft carrier, that actually flew quite a few succesful missions.

What if you guys did a vehicle race but you switch builds with someone every like 5 minutes? Would make for some interesting builds!
You should fly a smaller plane through a hole in a bigger plane
you could have added a friction block to the back so instead of it frontflipping it would actually somewhat stick
He should have rotated the landing gear to face down and only rotate a few degrees (straight down). That would stop him from flipping forward when landing because of it being behind and close to his center of mass👌🏼👌🏼

I don't know where you live, but a town in my country was hit with a supercell tornado recently.
There is only like 10 tornadoes in our entire history.
Maybe next you can put a camera block on the bottom of the airplane so you can easily see where your landing

How about making a challenge around building a kitesurf with dingie, power couples and wings? And trying to race with it. Or just build it. I believe that would be an awesome challenge using the wind and the waves in high seas map

Challenge idea: Catch a speed boat in a cargo plane using the intense waves as a ramp
Maybe for the aircraft carrier you add suspension on the submerged part
You could do blimp catching a plane or a plane to catch a submarine
Idea : ITS a 2v2
Build a plane and a turret the pilot and the shooter Will have to connect the individual plane and turret with a hook and then they Will fight reply if you think this is a good idea or not

Hey scrapman could you make a video flying through posts that get gradually smaller the arms of the carrier gave me that idea.

The friction pad should be on the tail of the plane while the front should still use a wheel 🤔
How about something space related. Maybe you have to pickup a road based vehicle from one of the planets, maybe Scrapmans favorite meteor, with a quick moving spaceship. 🚀 maybe like with your car plane pickup video.
You could l9gic the flaps to deploy automatically when you approach stall speed. There have been so many additions, it is time to reboot the evolution series.

When you land, you want to be as slow as possible so them going super fast meant he was going to just take off again when he lands

You should try to make car that jumps and land on a pickup truck or a flatbed truck
try to make a one wheeled train. it only has a wheel in the middle of the bottom with no gyros.

I am new to trailmakers but can't you use a deactivated cannon for it's cross as a target point where you land or weren't there something like cameras. I am not sure if my idea is good or not.

Can you make a vehicle, but half, then the other persons is fused to it, then see what happens, eg build half plane, put together, fix connection issues, see how it flies

I feel as though the landing gear could double as a takeoff assist trebuchet and i keep waiting for scrap to use it that way on purpose.
