Good point, the first thing that tends to go in a D4 motor is the bottom bearing mounted between the spider and the first fan stage. That is definitely one of the advantages of a machine like the Rotho or Thermax AF-series. The motor generally sits beside the water tank and thus nothing corrodes as easily. i wonder if anyone's ever thought of using the two designs concurrently? The side-by-side nature of the motor of the Rotho and Thermax with the separator tech of a Rainbow.

Wessel Werk is the industry standard. Its sold on Miele and multiple other brands. It outsells Rainbow by about 10 to 1. That means you can get service on it at any vac shop. Hey, thanks for talking out of your #ss.

The Wessel Werk power nozzle on the Rotho is generally considered to be the best power nozzle on the market today. If you were able to put the WW on the Rainbow they would clean about the same. The suction motor has little impact.

No doubt the Wessel Werk EBK340 is the standard for central and canister systems, but I like the Rainbow system for what it is and the life expectancy of the vacuum motor will definitely outlast the carbon brush-based universal motor in a Rotho. A lot of vacuum cleaner companies have moved to small, high speed motors while Rexair's motor still spins at a decent speed.

@bagintheback I agree completely. The Rainbow pulls 65 cfm and the Rotho pulls 70 cfm. The issue is that the Rainbow leaks air all through the system's connections so it never makes it to the power nozzle.
Rainbow touts this as the 'new and best' power nozzle on the market and it's not even close.
The Rainbow is a fine cleaning machine. It's not as good as the Rotho and its double the price.

However, I am a bit confused why Rexair chose a friction-based drive system again, as I get a slightly better cleaning power with my Rainbow if I swap the power nozzle with an Aerus gear-driven unit.

For me the issue is consumer based. What will the consumer do? Most wont spend the time to empty the water well enough to make the Rainbow last be it a kid who was made to vacuum etc. The Rotho has separate chambers so the damage isn't done when the vacuum sits with water and the bad smell can be removed without a 150 cleaning bill. I agree the brushless is better. Consumer behavior makes it worse only because water is inevitably left and the fans become caked etc..

I wouldn’t clean kitty litter up like that with a water machine.... just saying. Bits and pieces sure. But not excessive amounts

Do your own comparison and record it and prove or shut up. Why do people run their mouths but don't do the work? No really. Do the damned work and make the comparison and put it online instead of wearing your superman suit and smacking some keys. Here are two words for you and they have nothing to with Rotho. "Upright Aquafliter" $500. Now you have something to worry about and it aint a Rotho. Youre an excellent singer. Anyone reading this sees right through you. Dont kid yourself
