Great soundtrack... couldn't help dancing a little bit while watching. Oh yes... and very helpful video too. Thank you very much
Thanks for the inspirational video. I got my GasIt tank delivered to California and installed it on my Sprinter 😁
Hey Lars, what size tank did you end up getting and how much was shipping to Cali?
@@roach6791 I got the 30L tank. Airfreight was only £294 and it arrived three days after shipping. There was a more expensive and quicker option, but I asked for a cheaper one -- which was still so fast.
Red shorts made me laugh 😂 , great series so far Scott and Jen👍
I'd mount the filler up higher with an option for unscrewing it and dropping it back down for filling. That way it doesn't get knocked off.
Thank you for the video - need to re-watch it.
Valve box cover isn't very accessible - I suppose the gas can be turned on/off with an electric valve (power save saves some electric).
Didn’t realise you could direct mount the regulator to the outlet or rotate the inlet either. Be replacing my tank on the westfalia this year and this has helped massively 👍
Glad it helped you out
Many thanks for posting this. Just what I have been looking for. Much appreciated.
What a mahoosively helpful (and funny) video. Missed some in the middle but picked it back up again after you put your tracky bottoms on. Pure gold, many thanks...liked and subbed!
😂 Nice one 👍 Sense of humour makes all the difference 😊
Thank you for the work on this video. I have to do mine soon. Very helpful.
Glad to be a help. Good luck with your install. Drop us a sub, the rest of the conversion will be coming soon
Good clear easy to follow. Nicely done fella!
Thanks George just spotted your comment. Glad it's helped you out mate👍
After watching this, and believeing the autogasleisure kits looked the best engineered solution i bought one for my sprinter conversion.
Yes the brackets are very well made etc but overall i feel dissapointed with the kit, my main gripe being the weather proofing, or specifically lack of.
To allow installation of the supplied "GOK" regulator, autogas leisure re-machine the tank boxes which in turn removes the attachment for the weather proof boot leaving a large hole at the front for rain to drive straight into.
The box lid is completely weather proof with a rubber seal, and rubber boots on all other openings so rain now gets in through the front and stays in. After driving the van once in the rain 4 weeks later it was a corroding alumimium mess in there and i have not even finished the van conversion yet.
Apparently no one else has is worried by this, to their credit they did later send a generic rubber grommet but i found it was the wrong size to fit anyway so i just drilled a hole in the bottom of the box as a drain and tried to forget about it.
I do not normally write comments on videos but i felt i should share this information so people are aware before investing £500 of their hard earned cash.
Cheers.
Thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear about the problems. Never had these problems with our install. Open gaps should always be sealed, especially outside a car or van
Great video! It’s made me less worried about attempting this on mine now, hilarious commentary as well 😂
loving you work cheers
Thanks Tristan
what aint you offering up 😂 great video, funny and informative
Did you use any metal protector spray when drilling under the van?
No
Great video - can you buy those sleeve's/crush tubes separately?
Where is your exhaust pipe in all of this? I’m finding it’s impossible to run the fill pipe without crossing over the exhaust pipe too close for regs
Great vid I came over from the kite van man chanel
Thanks Mike. I hope the vids are helping you out, we are making steady progress. Check out our social media pages too they are usually ahead of the CZcams channels😎
Thanks - this should come in handy. How many litres did you go for?
Sprinters are already known for their rust, lol. Probably should have painted those holes, mate.
Known for rust on the thin sheet metal when in white and only had one coat of paint. We'll be dead and buried by the time rust got through that steel box section
hi great job,was it expensive, the paint chip is a great idea.
Thanks Eugene. The price was basically the price of the kit from Autogas2000 you can check out their kit prices via their website that will be specific for you conversion or job.
mate, not supposed to be next to the exhaust.

Scott ive got same regulator strait from tank is there no support for it? Or is it ok like that
Never had a problem Michael. The 8mm you run in the cab will give it some support too
Is it legit to combine a refillable underslung tank into an existing system of two cylinders (gaslow / alugas etc) ?
I'm not sure is the answer to that one. I think the main problem you will face is T'ing the flexi pipe from to the two cylinders to the 8mm copper feed but I would think you'll be able to get hold of a manifold that you could run both feeds into. Then if all feeds are pressurised correctly I can't see why there would be a problem. You many have to see if the flexi and the copper run at the same psi and should be good to go. Disclaimer I'm not a qualified engineer so you would be best consulting one. Good luck
hi Scott! really enjoyed the video and feel like i've learned something :)
I appreciate this is a while back, but i was wondering if you can tell me if you experienced any issue with filling the tank? i watched a video on the GasIt CZcams channel and they mention that the 80% shutoff valve (the one you turned to face the front of the vehicle) works by having a little float within the tank, which goes up as you fill, effectively stopping the inflow of gas when 80% is reached.
Did that get turned upside down when you turned the valve? (sorry for the long waffling question)
Hi. We've experienced no problem and no the mechanism is not affected by turning the valve
@@ScottAndJen that sounds great. may go down the same route then. i am just working my way through the van videos. interesting to see your videos from 2018 and how they are very much current. best of luck
Hi Scott,
Great video and I now feel I might be able to tackle this lol can I ask you have you managed to get your fresh water and waste tanks both underslung as well?
Hi John. Yes we have a 70l fresh at the back and a 40l Grey water on the passenger side
@@ScottAndJen Cheers thanks for getting back to me, have you done a video of the water tanks install?
@@johnhectorwalker813 I've not John the company I got the tanks from offered free install if I took the van to pick the tanks up
@@ScottAndJen Yeah from Barratt tanks, unfortunately there busy until Jan. I'm having to deal with CAK tanks but there customer service is like there name🙄
@@johnhectorwalker813 easy enough job tbh. Just some U clamps that are hung from the chassis
When you wired the gauge in to the cab how is the wiring diagram done
Diagram comes with kit. Gauge in tank under van is earthed and live ran to gauge inside van. Also poitive feed wired to gauge insode and negative earthed to chassis
Scott & Jen I got my gas tank kit from LPG shop I have fitted the tank and the filler and also the gas feed pipe to the 4 way splitter but no instructions how to do any of the insulation I have a black and green wire that comes out of the gauge that I have changed on the tank and the LCD level gauge as a red and black and a green + so do I just put a live + and - feed to them or just to the red +
@@ivecamperbuild_thomas4084 green to green. Blacks earthed and positive live to the red wire on LCD if im not mistaken
Scott & Jen that’s what I thought but wanted to check to make sure thanks hope your having a good weekend
Hey hope your well.
What size copper pipe did u use? 8mm or 10mm ?
Thanx in advance :)
its 8mm
@@ScottAndJen OK so the connections in/out of the regulator are both 8mm?
Seems like a good idea to put the regulator there.
Thanks
7:04 🤣
Mate any reason you have positioned the locker/pipes facing inboard?
Sorry can you clarify whay you mean? If you mean the filling bracket then no you can position this anywhere that the filling hose can reach to
Scott & Jen i mean the part with the guage/valves etc in the little locker. If it was facing outboard it’d be easier to access no? Just wondering if there was a reason it was facing the centre of the van not the outside
That is the way the installation instructions advised. Also dont think there is ample room between tank and bodywork if its the other way around
Scott & Jen roger that mate...just got under my van to fit mine and eaten my words...pretty much only fits that way🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ thanks again dude
how many liters is your tank? I think a 40liter will fit my sprinter, might be too snug though.
Hi there. This is a 30l lpg tank
@@ScottAndJen Sorry for hitting you up in a few different threads but which 30L tank did you end up getting because there are two (270 x 607mm or the 200 x 1052mm)?
I don't think so it is a good idea 💡 to install a propane tank beside Exhaust.
Cover installed between tank and exaust. Company the kit was bought off been installing tanks for 25+ years I'm sure this was taken into consideration
@@ScottAndJen hope so
@@ScottAndJen Hiya, very helpful video thanks! Was the cover already fitted or is it something you bought/made? Thanks!
