Be careful what you wish for! 😊It is a very intuitive approach to painting and it doesn’t come easy to everyone! I spent many hours drawing in the clouds as a child - I think that has been an influence!

I learned so much from your video. I immediately watched it it full several times in succession, making lighting speed associations for applications to my own gestating work...
I then watched it, in parts as I sit down to work. Thank you, so much gratitude. Ron

My pleasure!
Lovely❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thanks so much!
Loved your video. I subscribed!
Yay! Thank you!
thanks
You're welcome!
I really can't wait to try this. Using your video as my guide. I am guilty of over painting my abstracts so interested in the reduction technique and how I can apply it when I over paint
Great! I hope you enjoy the process! I find taking photos a long the way gives me a reference. Try stopping before you think you are finished and sit with it for a few days. It is so easy to loose the freshness! Have fun!
Your work is stunning.
Thanks so much@hollywoodhat
First time watching you. Very inspiring.
Yay! Thank you!
I love your paintings, and your videos are inspiring and instructive. Could you do a video on how you paint your backgrounds?
Thanks so much! I will make a video on a messy background for you.
Nice picture
Thanks so much!
Love watching your process. Wonder if you leave the faces empty or if you continue by adding eyes, mouth.... if you do, would be interested to see how your painting are when you are finished with them. ❤
It depends -sometimes I add a suggestion of an eye or mouth. Sometimes I jest leave it with a shadow side. Depends on the feel of the painting.
Wonderful! Tks my questjon is: dont you give an idea what situation these people are in? Love your job!
Thanks! I leave that all up to the viewer!😊
Thank you for amazing tutorial! Would be also great to know how to prepare the underpainting base?
Great suggestion! I will make a video for you!
Just stumbled upon this and I love it! Thank you so much for sharing. I really want to try this. How do you make this style work for landscapes where you need depth? I can’t say how much I love your painting🎉🎉
You are so welcome! You can use the same technique for landscape and add more layers but leave some of the underpainting to show through
Brilliant 😂cheers loretta
Thanks Loretta!
Loving your “gals”!
Thanks so much!
I loved this painting at about the 6-minute mark in the video, then I felt she overworked what I had thought was done! I guess we all have a different view of what's finished!
It is often hard to know when to stop and easy to overwork a painting .Although you can’t go back you can continue. In my experience the painting usually becomes richer and more interesting
I can see both points but I think painting in the face help to ground it to reality! If that makes sense.
@@Renegade_2023Makes sense!
hello, beautiful painting! i loved the process! could you tell me what fixative you use over neocolor II, because they're water reactivate. thank you!
Thank you! I use either SpectraFix or Krylon Workable fixative.
I like this technique. It would've been nice to vary the skin tones and hair lengths.
This painting wasn’t at its finished stage at the end of the video - some things changed for sure. Both are good suggestions.
so nice ❤😍 new subscriber
Thanks and welcome!
Cool!
I don't see the link for mounting the paper to the canvas.

👁️ Diggit!
Thanks
Hi there how do you bring these figures into the messy bit? Would like to see you do that.
I am not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how do I make the messy background or how do I find the figures?
Wowwww! I love this! As you were painting figures I was imagining it with horses! I think I will try this on a smaller scale with horse and see how it goes! Thank you for inspiring me! I have been wanting to do another colorful painting and wasn't sure how to begin! Now I know!🖌️🎨
My pleasure! So happy you feel inspired. I think this would be perfect with horses!
@@pattscrivenerartist 😁🖌️🎨I painted all day....and I completed an 8x10 of a horse with the colorful background and whiting out the spaces around it....and it WORKED! I am so excited! I colored 2 canvases so tomorrow I will do another! Thank you again!

OK.
What brand of acrylic paint is your medium Patt?
I am using Kroma paint from Granville Island(Vancouver, Canada) Order direct or from Amazon. Not sold in stores. No middle man so the price is good.
Nice but I would like to see how u finished 😮
Hi Maria, I’ll see what I can do!
❓(3:04) "Do _____?______ writing"🖋🖊📜
Asemic writing - having no meaning, looks like script but not identifiable as words.
@@pattscrivenerartist Thank you! Very interesting. I sensed, from your usage, what it likely meant, but had never heard the word before and wanted to look into it more; now that I know how to spell it, I've got traction! I enjoyed the video, and am on to one of your presentations with collage.😊
@@northernhills863 My pleasure! Have fun adding it to your art!
@@pattscrivenerartist Thank you, and thanks for the inspiring presentations.😊

If you go to settings in the top right corner you can select captions and then select your language. Hope that helps.
How much do you sell your paintings for--such as this one?
That one is 24x18” -they are $875. CAN plus any applicable taxes. You can check things out on my website here. pattscrivenerartist.com/collections/figurative-art

I want to sell copies of an oil on plywood painting I made on a free webpage designed for selling art. It is a copy of an image in a painting by Rubens. I am going to make a couple of copies for a test run.
Does it matter if it is not signed?
Can you suggest an effective way to do this?
I think it is important to sign all artwork. You want to use something archival and not water soluble. You could use graphite,, Gelly Roll pens, and archival ink pens for drawing to do the job. Watch this short video for more info czcams.com/video/i9AMC83KXb0/video.htmlsi=kPrs6y5EXHcb7QOd
If you can tell what it is, it's not abstract. It's impressionism.
This is a big topic! According to Sotheby’s “ Impressionism describes a style of painting developed in France during the mid-to-late 19th century; characterizations of the style include small, visible brushstrokes that offer the bare impression of form, unblended color and an emphasis on the accurate depiction of natural light.” Tate’s description of abstract - Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.”
Inspiring but I'm not sure about the people with no faces.
You are in the same camp as my husband on the faces! 😀
