    I don't know exactly why, if it's his voice or his mind, or that I share an anglo-philia with him but listening to Hans Zimmer is such a pleasure. One of the best musicians I've ever come across.

    Softly playing the main theme from Interstellar while watching this adds a lot more ambiance to the interview. Give it a try! ^~^

    Great interview. Zimmer's approach to writing and films seems so wide-ranging. Despite the countless films he's done, he sounds like he approaches every process fresh, aiming to accomplish true artistry in every new endeavor.

      DP/30: The Oral History Of Hollywood Makes a lot of sense. I've never heard anyone complain about Pharrell, and pretty much everything I've heard of his is gold.

    I like Hans. I like his scores in the 80s, 90s, maybe 2000s, but since the 2010s he's gotten lazy and now he is trying to bullshit his way out of it.
    Come on, "it was a very personal experience .......... it was a great experience." That just shows he doesn't know what to say next.
    I'm not a so called hater, but I am aware of Zimmer's lazyness of the recent years. He is inventve, but it doesn't show - sadly!

      Are you kidding? Did you actually HEAR the score for Interstellar??? It's genius!

    • @trexation
      @trexation Před 9 lety

      TheBaconWizard I did. The whole thing. And it's not. Sorry, it's not. It's repetitive and he didn't do anything with it. It was Nolan's idea to use the pipe organ. I thought it was Zimmer. The main theme is very simple and where he exceled on Inception, he failed in Interstellar or Man of Steel or 12 Years A Slave.
      Ambient noise and a simple theme do not make for an Oscar worthy score.

      trexation themes cannot be simple? must they always be grandiose? can one listen to a renaissance english song for voice and like it and marvel at its beauty?? or must I listen to verdi's requiem because of its grandiosity??

      Lorena Menendez I just want some variety, that's all.
