    Main thing I messed up was Y Wire = PEK+, and G wire = C wire. Going from old thermostat to new one. Their support team rocks though. Thanks Paul!

    FYI, my actual Ecobee thermostat was working fine but we began to have issues with both our phone apps. You could change the temperature but the display that shows the actual room temperature wouldn’t change even though I knew the house temp was different. Rebooted the phones and uninstalled and reinstalled the app but same thing, wouldn’t show the correct room temp. Removed the PEK and installed the C wire and it works fine now. So if anyone has the same issue I had, it’s probably the PEK. Try and run the C wire anyway, one less thing in the chain to go wrong.

    I don’t have a C wire, so going to use the PEK kit. However my G wire from the thermostat goes to DHume slot in the control panel. What should be done in this situation?

    Above the indoor temp number there's a smaller number with a tear or rain drop icon, what is that number for? I don't have wifi setup, no schedules and heating n cooling are off.

    • @ecobee
      @ecobee  Před rokem +1

      What you're describing sounds like humidity percentage. There are a couple different ways humidity can be impacted with your ecobee. 1.) You can choose to enable the AC Overcool Max feature which will run your cooling system longer to help lower the humidity. 2.) If you enable Feels Like in the eco+ suite of features, your ecobee will factor in the humidity when averaging the temperature displayed.

    What if your furnace (old Lennox pulse (gas) from the 80s) does not have a C terminal, but does have a T terminal? There's no indication of an unused wire in the furnace unit.

      Turns out the wires on the thermostat had to be connected differently from what the instruction manual stated because of the brand and type of the thermostat..

    You should definitely mention to turn the breaker off before opening the furnace. (And say "double-u", not "dubyou")

    • @conborzzzz
      @conborzzzz Před rokem +4

      Not just the breaker but some furnace has a switch to turn on or off. I didn't know this until the furnace fuse burnt. Maybe it was overloaded when I start to do the installation. I had no heating for 1 winter night because of that. I was about to call for a pro service guy to make the furnace work that cost more money. So shut of everything connected to the furnace before ecobee installation.
