- The ranges that spread through Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan make up the Lesser Caucasus Mountains. Walk from the peaks of Dagestan, down to the canyons of the Caspian Basin, through the steppes of Azerbaijan and up into the Armenian highlands, all before the majestic backdrop of biblical Mount Ararat, considered the place where Noah's Ark came to rest at the end of the flood.

Just finished watching The Greater Caucasus and now watching this. Incredibly beautiful cinematography! So enjoyable and educational regarding a part of the world we don't see much of!💕
Wildlife photography is usually very difficult and in this film it's excellent, truly gorgeous. Much praise to the videographers.
Truly magnificent. All the diversity of life, animals and plants! hats off to the film crew(s).
Beautiful documentary with breathtaking images. I had never seen anything about this region before. It is really a privilege to see it in all its climatic and ecological diversity.
So soothing to ears and pleasent to eyes. Marvelous piece of ART.
I am a Brit and have visited Armenia for a holiday. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s a wonderful country to visit
@aweirdest thing is that turkey and azerbaijan recognize armenia
@@agarykane2127the weirdest thing is despite Azerbaijan and Turkiye recognizing armenia, defeat and destroyed whole military troops of armenia during the war in 2020 , -armania-still claiming to the INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED territories of those countries…. pretty f.cking weird, isn’t???
Thanks from Armenia 👍🇦🇲
These documentary movies are precious. Thank you for the great work 👍♥️
Thank you for a tour of another lesser known ecosystem. Magical and beautiful. Extraordinary revelation towards the end regarding gazelles that drink salt water. I've never heard of a mammal that can do this.
Was watching show earlier..I thought on Midway, but was jumping all over the place. Lesser Caucasus was one area. I stopped that one..to watch this one! This at least stays in a general area. And it's beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you for beautiful photography!
Wonderful nature, landscape, movie... Thx
Phenomenal narration 🔥
A superb film. Thank you!
The borders between Georgia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan run through the range, although its crest does not usually define the border.
The range was historically called Anticaucasus or Anti-Caucasus (Greek: Αντι-Καύκασος, Russian: Антикавка́з, Анти-Кавка́з).
What was the platform to allow zoom-in shots of the young eaglet feasting and then instantaneous shots of the mother flying in the background?
What photo system is in use?
Remarkable from concept to execution.
Thx for sharing.
Will we get films of filming these magnificent documentaries?
Excellent video 😊
Thank you!

Animals are the best citizens of this miraculous planet. We need to pay attention to all they are saying. We're running out of precious time.
False dichotomy -- Animals vs. Humans Humans ARE animals.
@@DieFlabbergast Great point!
PAWS & HANDS makes NO "dichotomy"; animals AND human are referred to as "citizens"(of the world)
Ahahahah. Wrong
Fantástico, sólo un pedazo del planeta maravilloso. Naturaleza en equilibrio , Cáucaso monumental !

Not yours., yours is in Central Asia. This one’s of the Armenians, Greeks, Georgians and Lezginians and of other autochthonous people of the South Caucasus and Armenian Highland.

Just imagine, the ancestors of these very creatures were caged inside Noah's Ark for a year, saved from drowning in the Great Flood, and released into the wild after the Ark settled on a ledge near the summit of Mount Ararat. It has been seen by people at times when the snow melts back in warm summers and reveals the front of the Ark. A member of my Seventh-day Adventist Church in the U.S. was an Armenian boy who climbed up to the Ark with his Uncle and noted that the Ark's wood was petrified and a deep red color!
Noah had 3 sons Shem and Ham and Japheth. Ham was the progenitor of the black race and Shem was the progenitor of the Arabic people whereas Japheth is the ancestor of white ones. After some years since leaving the ark Japheth along with his wife and children went north and lived in the lessor Caucuses mtns and became known as Caucasians. Interesting isn't it.
@@huskigirl123 Yes, I have studied Noah's descendants quite carefully and where each son led his tribal family to spread across the earth. Japheth is the FIRSTBORN son of Noah, by the way, and he had seven sons.

Copyrighted in 2016. Excellent photography in this documentary, but I couldn’t see the name of the narrator because they always plaster those “next” boxes all over the credits at the end.
I believe the narrator is Rob Quirk, who also narrates the documentary on The Greater Caucasus.

Ararat mountain is in Turkey, not Armenia
The narrator kept saying 'cultural' land instead of 'agricultural' land!
It is Karabakh not Nagorno Karabakh. Nagorno is the Soviet/Russian artificial creation to divide Karabakh into Armenians (Nagorno/Mountainous Karabakh) and Azerbaijanis (Plain/Lower Karabakh. Divide and rule.

What is "Lesser Caucasus"?? You mean the extreme northern portions of the Zagros mountains (called the "lesser caucasus" by the Russians?!)

VIOLENT LANGUAGE HOST
theres not a geografical names such as lesser armenia or nagorny karabakh. these names are political issues and coused death of thousand of soldres and civilians in battles. it is unblivable to use these names in here. you should appolagise!
I really wish that more care were taken with the script. It is so full of tone deaf and culturally demeaning statements.

Funny. Tropical bee eaters in the desert.

Funny it claimed Armenia always retained its independence for millennia.
Throughout history, it was almost never independent. Most of the time it was a part of Iran, for a while the Ottoman empire and for a shorter time a part of the Soviet Union, until in the 90s it became independent when USSR broke down.
Lol, you sound pissed. 🤣
Regardless, Armenians remained Armenians, and they kept their identity rather than dissolve into hybrids. They can trace their direct ancestors to 3500 years and are almost the same population since.
They used diplomacy to deal with big empires. They lived in most of their motherland until WWI when genocide reduced their influence in their homeland in western Armenia and later soviet influence gave away their Eastern lands to the newly established Azerbaijan.
Armenians were talented, which made them important players.
Hope this clarifies your confusion.
